"Nice! I was expecting to miss entirely!" Jarek sang happily before tossing the heavily modified Desert Eagle from his left hand to his right and raising it to point at Aden's chest. He couldn't actually fire until Aden was out of the way, as Chryis was right behind him and Jarek wasn't exactly going to risk shooting her, but the threat of a leveled weapon was sometimes even more potent. "I found an old friend recently," he added in a conversational tone and tapped the Desert Eagle with his left hand, "And I had a hankering to try it out."

"Sure am. Now, step away from the damsel in distress and I might consider not shooting you," Jarek replied with an easy grin, but his green eyes were freezing cold. This jerk needed to get iced, but Chryis's safety was more important than his death.
-
Jarek raised one eyebrow at the guy. Well, if he wouldn't move... Was it worth the risk? Not really, but he didn't have much of a choice. Unless... "She talks about me in her sleep? Hehe. Even more ammunition for when I bust her out of here.
For when we bust her out, Jarek. You'll need me to make that shot. This fool is right-handed, that means he'll automatically go right to dodge any bullet. Shoot slightly to the right and you have a better chance of hitting him and a far lesser chance of hitting Chryis, Mask advised.
How the hell do you know he's right-handed? You know what? Nevermind, Jarek sighed mentally.
"Believe me, dude, you do not want to fight me over this. I'll up my offer, seeing as you were such a dumb*ss about the first one. Hand over the girl, no more hurt than she already is, or I rip your intestines out and FEED THEM TO YOU!" Jarek roared the last part, some fraction of his old fury in his blazing green eyes. He was giving the kid one last chance.
-
"You'll pay for that. Chryis herself can attest to just what I do to people who piss me off," Jarek snarled in reply. "Maybe I have a sniper trained on you right now. You could be dead before you could chuckle one more time, loser," he added with a smirk, sure Peace would get the idea. He vaguely remembered Peace being able to snipe, so he hoped the guy was good. "Or maybe I'll let you chuckle a few more times. It's always good to laugh before you drop dead," Jarek continued lazily, one hand still holding the gun level with Aden's heart and the other hand in one pocket, where it grasped the handle of another throwing knife.
You could just let me do it, Mask advised, but Jarek sharply cut him off. This was his fight, not Masky's.
-
Jarek flashed forward, toward the downed boy. He pressed the Eagle's muzzle right inbetween Aden's eyes and smirked. "Sniper, no, another knife thrower? Yes. I'm the leader of the Eclipse, baby, you screw with me, you screw with the most powerful gang in this city. Enjoy bleeding out," he chuckled to himself as he turned toward Chryis and surveyed her sorry condition. "Nice work, Peace," he directed at the other boy as he untied Chryis quickly and then contemplated her. He doubted she'd wake, he'd have to carry her. Ugh, if she woke while he was carrying her... Not good. Nuclear armageddon all over again. Ah well. Jarek hoisted Chryis up gently and fitted one arm beneath her legs and the other under her shoulders, carrying her bridal style.
Sue me, I like playing the knight in shining armor for once, Jarek told Mask defensively.
Puppies and rainbows, Mask fake coughed into his immaterial sleeve. Jarek pointedly ignored that one.
-
"Sorry, sweetheart? For what?" Jarek murmured back, slightly surprised she was conscious, though he realized he shouldn't have been. This was Chryis he was talking to after all, not some wall flower. "You'll be fine, that's what matters," he sighed slightly, rather hoping she wouldn't remember that particular line in her current state. People like Aden were everywhere... But they died. One by one by one, they died.
The past belongs to the dead, but the future is ours. Jarek had to repress the shudder that ran through him at remembering those words, or, more specifically, who spoke them. Well, at least Chryis wasn't a hostage of some psycho. She was going to hear no end of this once she was fine, though. Hehe.
-
"Both fine, don't worry. He used the same sleeping mixture on them, but he dropped them off at the apartment. Didn't want to have to deal with kids I guess," Jarek reassured her with a grin. His grin widened slightly as he remembered both Cayle and Leyko mistaking him for Leon. Ah, that was oddly sweet. "We're going back to them now," the Eclipse leader went on with a nod. "I met a man of silver in shadowed Lys, he told me nothing mattered more than this," Jarek murmured on a whim, not even sure where Mask had learned that.
-
"Easier than breathing," Nayana murmured, removing the cloth from the wall and retrieving the red dye from her supplies. She quickly and expertly applied the mixture to the cloth, humming a tune under her breath as she worked.
Redemption turned his head to the side, scenting a badger. Normally he wouldn't bother, but he was rather hungry anyway. He turned fully and stalked toward the scent, ensuring he was down-wind so the creature wouldn't scent him. "Stupid little thing," he muttered under his breath, amused.
OOC: We need a plot line. Just meandering about like this is what gets threads killed brutally in an alley with a cleaver. Just saying. :P
-
Jarek had to resist the urge to out-right drop her and shout "Hallejulah" at the words "thank you Jarek". "Not a problem, Chryis. I'll have to send someone to check and make sure that that loser is stone cold," he mused as they reached the Eclipse vehicle Jarek had arrived in. He deposited Chryis in the back seat gently and turned to the driver. "Drive. Very. Gently," Jarek advised with a menacing smirk. The Eclipse member gulped and nodded as he turned the engine on.
-
Jarek turned to Peace and grinned, giving the other boy a slap on the back. "Nice! I appreciate the help, Peace," he replied. "I gotta get damsel in distress over here back to Rihanna and her children, wanna ride?" Jarek cocked his head slightly to the side. This excursion had been... Interesting.
And it surprised him just how much he had enjoyed rescuing Chryis. And, for the first time, he realized it wasn't just the new ammunition Jarek had that he liked so much. It was the very act of getting her out of danger, of saving her. Plus, carrying her had been fun in a number of different ways as well... Jarek couldn't help but chuckle slightly.
-
Jarek hummed to himself as they sped back to the apartment, bored already. ADHD? What was that? Naw. After so much excitement lately, having just a moment to relax was quite unusual. As the jeep pulled in at the apartment complex Jarek got out and opened up the back. He slid his arms under Chryis and poised to lift her up. "Ready?" he asked her, to make sure she was prepared. It wouldn't do to drop her.
-
Jarek nodded and lifted her up gently, nodding at Church as he walked over. "Gotta bring the princess here inside to see the munchkins. After being trapped in her tower for the past day or so, I'm sure they'll want to jump all over her," he directed at Church. "Ah well. Make way for the knight in shining armor," he grinned openly and made his way to the main entrance of the apartment complex.
-
Jarek raised an eyebrow at Chryis as he carried her inside. "Alright, sweetheart, you got it," he replied, just a hint of puzzlement in his tone. He ascended the steps easily, as if Chryis was as light as a feather. Which, to him, she practically was. He grinned as Liam opened the door and gave a bright smile of his own.
"Chryis! We were worried sick!" Rihanna exclaimed, directing Jarek to put Chryis on the couch. "Are you okay?" she asked, but what she was really asking is if Chryis was in any pain. Couldn't exactly just say that in front of five year-olds.
-
OOC: Argh! I am so sorry. As I said in that post ages back, I'm pretty busy these days and such. Could I get a recap? :P
-
Liam's brow furrowed, but then his expression cleared and he nodded in understanding before he took both children by the hands and led them into an adjacent room. "Mommy just needs a few moments, guys," he told them as he closed the door behind him.
Rihanna turned to Chryis, saying, "Okay, now that they're out of the way, where does it hurt?" Her tone was crisp and professional, having made the transfer between normal Rihanna and doctor Rihanna.
-
Rihanna's sharp intake of breath betrayed her surprise, but she nodded and zipped open her satchel. "Not much I can do for your chest except dull the pain, I can't exactly attempt surgery, but I think you'll end up okay without it," she told Chryis as she rifled through the bag. "As for your wrist..." the girl removed some gauze from the bag and soaked it in the water barrel they had been using. She removed a bottle of something and put a bit of the stuff, which turned out to look a little like cream, and put it on Chryis' wrist before wrapping the gauze around it. "Don't put too much strain on it," Rihanna advised.
"Dayum, Chryis, that guy did a number on you," Jarek exclaimed, his green eyes darkening with fury as he glanced out the window, jaw working. If only the guy was still alive. He would have begged for death... But he was dead and gone. Idly, the Eclipse leader realized he was clenching his fists so hard his knuckles had gone white. He forced his hands open and placed them on the counter behind him, as he was standing in the little kitchen area of the apartment's main room.

Name: Robert Cameron
Nickname(s): Robb
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance:
Robb is a tall boy, and while he is not overly muscular, he is lithe and obviously keeps himself in shape. His hair is black and curly, and he always seems to have a five-o'clock shadow. His eyes are a deep, steel gray, and his complexion is paler than some and more tan than others, being at neither extreme of color. He takes after his mother, which explains the difference between Robb and his father.
Personality: Robb is unusually controlled and hard for his age, even in the world of the gangs. He lets nothing out that he doesn't wish to, and some people, less charitable people, call him little better than a statue. His code of honor is as inflexible as diamond, and he will not do anything that compromises that code.
Mafia or Loner: Mafia
What Mafia Family: Remanari
Rank: Commander
If Female who is your “Guardian”: M/A
Other: Crime...Name: Laeonar Remanari
Nickname(s): Boss Remanari, Laeo
Gender: Male
Age: 59
Appearance:
Laeonar, like his son Robb, is tall and lithe, but the similarities end there. Laeonar's hair is bright gold, though age has dulled it some-what, and his eyes are green flecked with gold. The Remanari boss moves with a fluid grace that few can match, and he is extremely quick for his age, and his strength is not to be underestimated either, though, again, age is dulling his edge.
Personality: Laeonar is not so much evil as totally, utterly ruthless. He will do whatever he feels needs to be done without any qualms or doubts, and he has the cunning needed to do what has to be done in abundance. He never smiles or laughs, yet he never glares or shouts either. Instead Laeonar is brusk and professional, even, or perhaps especially, with family.
Mafia or Loner: Mafia
What Mafia Family: Remanari
Rank: Boss
If Female who is your “Guardian”: N/A
Other: Boss! I felt like adding both pictures and descriptions to them both. Sue me. And yes, I realize I described Laeonar as almost never smiling and yet he's smiling in his picture. Can't be helped. xD -
Jarek snorted and shook his head violently. "Let's not discuss him killing you, Chryis, he didn't, it's in the past," he suggested, feeling oddly uncomfortable talking about her death. "I gotta say, getting out and doing stuff again was fun though. Mask's idea of fun was sitting around brooding about his identity and his place in life, such a downer, I had to listen to him twenty-four-seven..." he started to rant, not really paying attention to what he was saying.
"Jarek?" Rihanna started, and the Eclipse leader looked at her quizzically. "Either shut up, or get out," she told him bluntly. Jarek blinked in surprise, but he closed his mouth regardless.
-
"Yes," Rihanna nodded as she fished a bottle of pills out of her case. "Take one of these every two days. Not more than once every two days! Valium is extremely addictive in larger doses," she warned as he set the pill bottle next to Chryis.
"Yes. Yes it is," Jarek nodded in agreement. Rihanna turned to raise one eyebrow at her brother.
"How would you know?" she asked suspiciously, fearing the answer.
"Ah. Well, before the whole Mask fiasco, Houston led a raid on a loner group using a pharmacy as a base. He subjugated them and got the medicine, there was a lot of Valium there. I... May have gotten high a few times? The first time was by accident. I ended up not liking the low, though the high was certainly fun, and I stopped," Jarek replied, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
OOC: Sure, why not?
-
Rihanna took the hint. "I need to go find that new guy, Markus. Something about him didn't sit well with me," she excused herself as she stood, not noticing the way Jarek unconsciously flinched when she mentioned the small, mousy boy. She left the room quickly, closing the door behind her as she did.
Jarek raised an eyebrow at Chryis once they were alone. "So, sweetheart? Here we are, on our lonesome. What's up?" he asked, green eyes unreadable.
