Mosskit looked at her brother as he padded next to her.

Rockkit took another paw-step back. Our father is an exile?! he thought. Mosskit looked at Rockkit. "What's wrong?" she asked him.

Rockkit nodded to his sister and looked back at their father, still not sure of what to say.

Both of the kits looked confused. "What?" Mosskit asked.

"Is something wrong?" Rockkit meowed.

The two kits sat down and looked at their parents.

Moonkit watched them silently, her eyes blank.

Frostpelt keped looking.

"I. . . I don't know." Frostpelt looked a bit worried, but she tried to stay calm.

Moonkit stayed where she was, as if frozen, staring at the sky.

Moonkit dug her small claws into the dirt, like she was in pain.
