Mistyriver remembered that day very well. She was bickering with a long past friend, they were talking about toms and how she should settle down like she had. Mistyriver had scoffed it off and sat silent throughout the entire gathering. They called out for the young apprentices and Hawkheart looked like he was about to face 10 foxes alone. The poor scrap was shaking like a leaf in the wind. "He was so scared!" She yowled quietly to Cragfur. "You are right though. I'll go kicking if I don't see him blossom into a good leader!"
Barleyheart's determination dwindled slightly as Hawkheart turned to face him. "G-Good!" He chirped quickly. "I'm sure someone will talk to me eventually," he laughed softly and lowered his gaze in embarrassment. You got so cocky! What's wrong with you? He mentally scolded himself. Starclan, I can feel my ears burning to a crisp! "So when w-will we go?" He swallowed thickly hoping that the newly appointed leader didn't notice Barleyheart's electrified heart.

I don't mind you playing any character! :P I literally just read fanfics so I'll try my best!

Yeah sure! Do you want to make the thread and go with it? Or do you actually wanna plan?
-
I don't mind planning? Do you wanna DM or stay in the thread?

Mistyriver watched as Cragfur rose to their paws. "I must as well join you!" She groaned and pushed herself onto her paws. She definitely wasn't getting younger each day. The partially blind she-cat coughed slightly and her flanks heaved with effort. The noble she-cat lifted her head in regally and followed her den mate to the pile. "There should be something good." She murmured almost to herself.
"Makes sense!" His eyes grew round like and owls. What an idiot! I should have thought of that! He screamed to himself mentally and felt his fur fluff when he saw Hawkheart's gaze linger over him before looking around. His question startled Barleyheart and his chest nearly constricted with nervousness. "O-Oh Chivepaw is coming along very nicely!" He nervously laughed and looked at his paws. "I'll surely be surpassed in no time!" Barleyheart purred the thought of his young apprentice. Chivepaw was almost adult like, smart and formal. Barleyheart wondered if he was the apprentice in their relationship. Chivepaw could have a normal conversation with Hawkheart. Bitter jealously clawed at his gut, "Did you sleep well? The morning has been very crisp but I noticed an elder cough....and I was wondering if you felt alright. You know it's very common to get a cold in this kind of weather. Even though it is heating up...."Barleyheart rambled on as his nerves were rattled once more.

Okay! Do you want me to make the DM?

She was thrilled to know that he was partially stunned. His eyes widening even if it was a fraction. Stuffing down a smile, she kept her eyes locked with his. The light twitch of her lip indicating she felt smug. Her body uncurled from her crouched position and she sat back onto her knees with a huff. He seemed rather relaxed and she wanted to wipe that smile off his face. He thinks he's so amazing! Yeah right. She grinned an evil like smile in her mind.
"Hm... Sure, whatever you say."
They stared at each other in silence. It was no way awkward. Comfortable for her, which was odd. She never expected to feel safe. It was almost like. He feels like pack. She thought bitterly. However, pack was something she was rarely familiar with anymore. She hadn't been a pack member since she was a young pup but even then. The young demon-ness snapped out of it and kicked herself mentally. Stop getting dazed out! Annoying! She scolded herself fiercely.
"If you're going to use me to set you free, how exactly will I go about doing that?"
The question was fair. But she wasn't going to tell him everything. That would be too personal, too comfortable for her tastes. "Well obviously you open the door and let me out! You already took off the talisman." She shrugged before looking at the door. She wasn't going to tell him that she needed to have a bond with another to stay alive outside though. I can find someone easy! She puffed her chest. "It's not hard to just go out and jump about for a bit, you've helped me in more ways than one!" She chuckled at him. "...Of course, if you don't know then you're going to be out of luck. I doubt this storm will last much longer anyways."
He was right. A little part of her was terrified to go out there alone, all she had known was this run down shack. Rain plopped down onto her head and she shook herself like a dog in a frenzy. "Too cold." She whispered and shivered. I'll make do. How could she possibly make due if she couldn't even withstand the cold? Moron. It snows! Rain is nothing. The youngling knew that Ayumu would go away after this but she felt almost....sad? She wasn't quite sure honestly.
Probably because I haven't socialized in a while. Youkai were social but getting into a group of youkai was rough. She'd never stand a chance.

Mistyriver rumbled in amusement and flicked her tail towards her flank. "I have some pesky ticks at the base of my tail and a real fat one on my hip!" She grumpily flattened her ears. "It's been bothering me a while!" She sighed in appreciation to the young apprentice. "You'll some day get a pelt full of mouse bile and ticks." She shook her head and sighed once more.
Barleyheart's head snapped over to his apprentice and he puffed his fur, "I am indeed! We are going to try to get to that pesky tree stump!" Barleyheart grumbled uncharacteristically. He couldn't help it though! Starclan was always supposed to be there! Barleyheart had barely felt a ruffle in his fur or even a slight whisper through the wind. "We better get going soon before something happens." He murmured mainly to himself. "Anyway, Chivepaw I hope you can help the clan while i'm gone! You are a fine apprentice." He purred and looked over at Hawkheart who was talking to the others.
