"Well it's not like I could just leave you out here," he meowed, a humorous purr rumbling in his throat. "What kind of friend and Clanmate would I be then?" He lowered his broad head to gently nudge her shoulder with his nose. It was only a momentary brush of contact and he swiftly sat back up, but he hoped the she-cat would still understand his affectionate, though awkward gesture. He worked better with a crowd of cats; serious one on one situations often baffled him or just made him uneasy.

"Whatcha thinking about so much?" Sparkluster pried. He had been watching her golden eyes attentively as she pushed herself up, trying to decode the thoughts and feelings behind them. Obviously, he had been unsuccessful in that endeavor, but he couldn't quite squash his curiosity.

The ginger tom felt almost as if she was expecting him to answer his own question, and he chuckled softly. "Well, if you don't even know what you're thinking about, how am I supposed to know?" he meowed light-heartedly. "You didn't fall on your head and catch a case of mousebrain earlier, did you?" A hesitant smile came over his face; he just hoped this would somewhat ease the tension and serious atmosphere around them.

"Oh, please," Sparkluster scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Yeah, you're such a mousebrain. Accidentally getting bitten while taking on two rogues at once." He shook his head, meeting her searching eyes. "You're really a great warrior, I don't know why you would even say something like that."

"Well, I don't like to be confused," he said, staring at her rather blankly. "So I try to ignore it and make everything more comfortable for the both of us. Apparently I'm not particularly successful, but I figure it couldn't hurt to try. Besides, I don't think it feels like that all the time." He shuffled his feet, pushing a bit of sand back and forth absentmindedly. He couldn't deny that what Lioneyes said had truth to it, but how could he be expected to have an explanation? It was what it was, and he'd be fairly content to leave it at that. Sometimes things just happened a certain way for reasons that were inexplicable, but would be revealed in time.

"Well, no, I know what you're saying," the tom replied quickly. "I just think we're blowing it out of proportion for no reason." He tipped his head to the side, still scrutinizing her expression. He wasn't sure where she was trying to go with this conversation, or quite how she was feeling. I mean sure, he had gotten just as frustrated and confused as she. But he was trying to cope and let it go. "Maybe if we both just tried to calm down and stop letting this mess with our heads..."

Sparkluster ran his tail ever so lightly over his flank, narrowing his eyes slightly with concern. "I really don't know what else to say," he meowed honestly. "But I highly doubt all of this stress is good for you in the state you're in. Maybe I should leave and get some other cat to sit with you, one who won't cause you so much grief... ?" His voice trailed off, leaving it open for her to make a request.

ooc; Well, I don't want to be the wet blanket who gets all STOP EVERYTHING, CHANGE THIS ALL EXACTLY TO MY LIKING. I have absolutely no problem with this pairing. (I actually love it too much for words........) But I don't want to stick him with a she-cat right away either. Worst case he turns her down until a further time when he is more certain of his feelings...? 8D

The red warrior visibly flinched at the sharp tone to her voice. He recovered quickly and tried to appear nonchalant, hoping Lioneyes hadn't noticed his slip up. "I don't want to go either," he said, almost hesitantly. "I just want what's best for you."

ooc; Oooh, no that's a perfect idea. I'm glad you understand. I can't handle perfect, happily-ever-after couples. I need some drama and troubles. And this is just more, passive drama than soap opera drama.

"Well, what is there to do?" His tone was one of defeat. He had given up on figuring out what it was that Lioneyes was so confused about, or why she was feeling the way that she was. Sparkluster just knew that he would stay by her side and try to help her through... whatever it was that she was dealing with. When she figured out on her own what that was, he would be there to listen and assist in any way that he could.

ooc; Sorry if I reply sorta slow, just by the by. Working on a bio in another tab.

The warrior met her bright eyes again, holding his detached demeanor. "Then why worry?" he said lightly, in a vain attempt to reassure her. "You she-cats never make sense." He allowed teasing undertones slip into his voice, thinking fondly of the playful rivalry they had kept up earlier in the day.

ooc; Marblestain. I've had her entire character decided and have been meaning to make her for a bit now, but I couldn't decide on a name to save my life.

Sparkluster grinned widely as well. "See, there's the smile I was hoping for," he purred cheerfully. "Just what?" He was dying to get some answers, or even just to hear an end to that sentence.

"You're probably right," the tom agreed, getting to his paws. "I'm sure there's a hollowed out tree or something close by that we could stay in for the night." His pale eyes flickered back and forth over the hollow, as though expecting a shelter to suddenly appear. "Think you'll be okay to go and find something if I let you lean on me while we walk?"

    Character Name: Marblekit ∙ MarblepawMarblestain

    Character Age: thirty moons

    Gender: she-cat

    Alliance: ShadowClan

    Rank: warrior

    Appearance:
Marblestain is far from being the most glamorous she-cat in the forest, and she's all too aware of that fact. She's a short-haired brown and red torbie, with long curled whiskers. White fur is visible from the middle of her forehead down over her stomach, as well as on her legs. The she-cat's muzzle is fairly large and protrudes from the rest of her round face. Wide hazel eyes are somewhat unevenly set above her bright pink nose. Her build is a little on the bulky side; she hasn't got the nice, skinny figure that all of the toms seem to find desirable. Hell, she doesn't seem to have a single attribute that anyone would find desirable.

    [font=palatino linotype]Personality:
Marblestain is the definition of a hopeless romantic, with the emphasis on hopeless. She grew up admiring love struck couples and dreaming of the day that she would find her very own happily ever after. As she matured and became aware of the harsh reality of things, she came to realize how slim her chances of such a future really were. The pretty, talented she-cats were the ones who had toms chasing them left and right; they were the ones who found love. No one took an interest in a homely cat like Marblestain. Still, she couldn't shake her whimsical views on romance. She kept high hopes and improbable visions in the back of her mind, falling hard and fast for any decent tom who paid her any mind at all. The torbie became a soft-spoken, flighty daydreamer who put herself through heartbreak almost daily.

---Likes: Marblestain loves cats who look past her appearance and get to know her personality, daydreaming for long periods of time, and good-looking toms.
--- Dislikes: She hates spending too much time around clear water that reveals her reflection, being compared to others, and being reminded that she'll probably spend the majority of her life alone.
---Strengths: She's exceptionally strong physically, is a formidable opponent in battle, and very rarely gives up.
---Weaknesses: She is quick to fall for others, gives herself too high of expectations and often ends up disappointed, and has very little to no confidence in herself.

    History:
Marblestain has had a fairly decent, uneventful life. There were no awful tragedies, catastrophes, or misfortunes that would give her good reason to feel as sad as she does much of the time. Her parents were both caring and present and did their best to give all of their kits a good upbringing. In fact, the she-cat often thinks of her kithood as the happiest time of her life. She was blissful and hopeful, always looking fondly to the future. It wasn't until she was named an apprentice that she first heard the word that would make her suddenly aware of the way the world worked: ugly. It began with a spiteful comment from a tom barely older than herself, and would go on to haunt her thoughts for the rest of her life. But it's not as if it really made a difference; she was not the first cat to be called ugly, and she surely wouldn't be the last. An insult here or there was no excuse for being sad or feeling sorry for yourself. Only a pathetic being would let something so trivial deeply trouble them, right?

Roleplay Sample: This isn't my first bio. c:

    Comments: Thanks in advance!

Sparkluster nodded, stretching to limber up his muscles after staying in one place for so long. "I think we might be able to manage that," he said, remaining as optimistic as ever. "We'll just find somewhere nearby to get you settled in, and then if you'd like I'll go catch us something to eat." He smiled pleasantly, his green eyes glowing and his wispy tail held high.

"Of course, shelter first." He sidestepped over, steadying himself so that Lioneyes could put her weight on him. Considering she weighed just as much as he did, if not more due to her rippling muscle, it would not be the easiest task. "Are you positive this will be okay?" He searched her eyes for any doubt or pain. The last thing he wanted was to hurt her anymore.

ooc; Rogues attacked, Lioneyes' ankle was badly injured and she lost a lot of blood and can't walk all the way back to camp. I think that's about it.

"There's nothing to be sorry for!" he said once more, flashing her a slightly forced smile. His muscles were tensed beneath the added weight of his Clanmate, and he knew it would not be the easiest journey for either of them. "How about we just start moving? If we need to talk more, we can do it once we've got you somewhere safer." Pale green eyes fixed straight ahead, the tabby unsheathed his claws and flexed his forepaws anxiously.

[font=palatino linotype]Sparkluster narrowed his green eyes. "Do you really think everyone will be able to make it back to camp safely?" he meowed, glancing pointedly at Lioneyes. He had all the faith in the world in her strength and ability, but if she kept reopening her ankle wound, she might never heal properly. Besides, what if he slipped and let her fall? Shaking his head slightly, the tom cleared his mind. He needed to remain optimistic. "If everyone thinks they'll be okay to make the journey, then let's get moving."

[font=palatino linotype]Sparkluster nodded. "Let's get moving then," he said, cautiously readjusting the shoulder Lioneyes was leaning against. "If we wait much longer we'll be stuck looking for somewhere to stay in the dark." He glanced back at Lioneyes and took a tentative step forward.

The red tom froze midstep as the she-cat's expression contorted into a wince. "I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" he asked quietly, eyes glowing with worry in the gradually fading light of the setting sight. It felt as though every muscle in his hefty body was tensed with apprehension. As uncomfortable as it was, he focused all of his concern on Lioneyes' well being.
