A rather rude awakening, the yelling of a man, set a grumbling Bane off of her green dumpster. He put the smelly bag he was holding into the container, and eyed Bane. His brown eyes softened, and he set down a snack he had in his pocket.
"Thank you," she barked simply, and wolfed it down. A peanut butter sandwich.
He laughed at the sight of her now troubled chewing, and ruffled the fur around her neck. Her blue eyes watched him walk away and their owner shook herself into wakefulness.
The roof of her mouth unstuck itself with the help of of a water fountain in a park. She held her bushy tail slightly up as she trotted the streets. No one seemed to care that a random dog was walking up and down Paris. Unless, of course, that particular dog bothered them.
The day was truly uneventful, just walking and begging for food, till just an hour later, when a man with a net came after her. She streaked away, pounding paws against concrete, trying to outrun a truck now.
She might just be able to do it, cold adrenaline rushing through her. She looked back for a second, horrified at the dogcatcher's intent. Don't look back, ever again, She told herself, and disappeared into an alley. Lucky for her, an empty trashcan just to her left came in view. She jumped in, just fitting if she tucked in her legs. She waited till it drove by and leaped out. He was out of his truck using his flashlight to attempt to find Bane. Not sparing a moment, she leaped onto the end of the truck, and then to the fire escape. She climbed up two stories and lay on the top of the air vent. She rested her head on her paws and waited for the adrenaline to die down, and the throbs to cease.
The moon was huge and full behind the city outline and Bane wondered how it came so fast. On the other side of the sky was the sun, and a pinker sky. Twilight, in its early shades of purple and pink. How beautiful something is when you aren't running for your life, or your freedom.
"Can I ever have a break?" the dark grey dog said not seconds later, when a man came out from the building to the roof. She hid behind the vent she lay on, and had no where else to go, he was coming that way! She did something crazy that night, and leaped toward the next building.
Bane before hitting the wall, hard, really saw her life really flash before her eyes.
Three other squealing pups, a mother dog. Blood everywhere, her mother lying still and cold. A young boy and the years of his ownership. Being abandoned. A battle to the death for a measly scrap of food.
She hit the wall and pain burst from her paw. She scraped the edge of the top as her hind legs swung out under her. Below her was bare concrete. Suddenly, the impact seemed dull, forepaw fine, reality gone. It was just her and the wall, and an empty blackness. She pondered why she was holding on. Her claws scraped, and the sound frightened her to heaving herself up.
Panting, she lay down. Pain once again shot her in her forepaw, and she raised it up in the pale moonlight. Dark blood flowed on gray, and she licked the liquid away, cleaning the wound. Her blue eyes were wide and searching, as she inspected the cut. Was it bad? It's just a scratch, She reassured herself seconds later, when the brown pad was visible yet again. At last, she could curl up and sleep, dreaming of her perilous jump. Never once did she wonder quite how she did it.

My fursona is pretty much nameless, unless I go for Antasia.
She's a black dog with blue banded tail, blue eyes and paw print marking on left shoulder and hair, green nose, belly and ears, red and black leg warmers. Her markings glow. She's really playful and energetic and sometimes seen slipping off for unknown reasons. She lives in a treehouse full of stuff she collects, including strictly purple rocks, bottle caps, and teddy bears. She sometimes tries to cheer dogs up by giving things she collects to them, that someow seems to represent the dog that's down. She glows slightly in daylight, but glows a lot more at night. Rumors are that she can turn the glowing off and spy on dogs, being that she can be really sneaky.
Please help me name her, and my birthday's around the corner, hoping for a tablet and paint tool SAI! -
