    Sight of the Stars
    Medicine Trainee

    Sight of the Stars laughed.

"Aren't we all." She smiled warmly. "We're all raving lunatics here, you know. I think I outrank you all in lunatic world. Actually, on the contrary, I might be the lowest rank in that world. I'm actually speaking of truth. Anyway. I must go prepare for the battle."

    Infernopelt

A laugh rang out from the tree above and right beside the cats. An orange tabby cat jumped down, her lean muscles rippling under her short-haired pelt. She smelled of a rogue, and her emerald green eyes shone with joy, as well as a strange fondness. She padded right up and peered into the hole, sniffing.

"Pfft. Since when were rogues badgers?" she called down, then turned toward the cats. Her eyes filled with light. Her nostrils flared.

A long-furred, silver tom padded up to the she-cat, his golden eyes shining with warmth. His coat was dappled with dark stripes, and his tail was a bit bushy and dark, with a light hint of deep brown. He was larger than most toms, if only by about two centimeters. He smiled.

"Why, hello. What is a fine she-cat like you doing out here all alone on this cold day?" Dancingautumn came up from behind. Just after he spoke he curled his body just a bit to where he was at the right side of the orange tabby she-cat, the front part of his body facing her. "There is a blizzard moving in. You shouldn't be out alone." He couldn't help being slightly flirtatious in his first comment.

    Infernopelt

Infernopelt looked away with a sad smile.

"You remind me of Riverpaw. She was never officially an apprentice. I wonder what has become of her and Phoenixkit." Infernopelt sighed.

"Alright. When your toes start falling off, though, I don't think Chimeraflame will know how to put them back on," Dancingautumn said with a playful laugh. "And I hope that pretty tail of yours doesn't fall off, either. And those ears."

    Infernopelt

    Infernopelt licked a paw indifferently.

"No, I'm sorry if you might be disappointed by this, but I'm not 'another one'." She smiled, then sighed and shook her head. "Apprentices. Pfft." She swept her tongue over her pelt, getting up and stretching. She did not run, though. "Maybe I should have gone straight to the camp."

Dancingautumn laughed, his eyes warm and filled with joy. "I think I'd look quite cute without ears," he joked. He looked up at the falling snow. It had just begun. It was gentle, and drifted down like the leaves of autumn did, like the scene he was named after. He smiled, remembering learning about his name. Then, his demeanor diminished for a second, turning to a more serious one, before switching back. "These gentle snowflakes are only the start, it seems. They are the young of the blizzard. The snow grows with the wind." He still smiled.

    Infernopelt

With the practiced moves of the warrior she was, Infernopelt leaped out of the apprentice's path, suspecting this much.

"Well, well. I return from what seems like the dead, one of the few who was swept away by the floods of the spring." She chuckled. "What an ironic greeting." Her tail flicked and she sat down, right there. He could launch himself at her again and she probably wouldn't budge.

    Dancingautumn
    ThunderClan

    Dancingautumn also smirked.

"If I say 'What?' you fling that ball of snow at me, the snow will be a bit too late in ripping off your tail, toes, and ears," he said, humour think in his voice. He paused. "What?"

    Infernopelt
    RiverClan

Infernopelt ducked her head, but held her ground with the strength of a full-grown warrior. She crouched and swept upwards with her paws, saving her face but inflicting some damage on her paws.

"Unruly apprentices, attacking warriors like that," she scoffed, abandoning her stationary position. She rolled away in a flash, up in barely a second after rolling.

OOC: I would have thrown the snowball then run as fast as I could. x3

    Autumndances
    ThunderClan

Autumndances laughed as well. As she pounced on him and landed on him, he made himself fall back dramatically. Then, her rolled and turned the playful tables, standing over her. He took a paw and brushed it over her neck, on claw brushing the fur.

"Dead." He smiled and stepped away. He licked a paw. "I hope you're not like that in battle," he commented with a playful grin, a jubilant glow dancing in his golden, make-you-melt eyes.

OOC: Woops. Did I put ThunderClan on that last post? I did. :X I'll change that in a second. My TC characters outnumber my RC characters... 5:1. xD I'm too used to putting ThunderClan. :P Sowwehh! :(

    Infernopelt
    RIVERClan

"Trespassing? On the lands I have patrolled since I was six and a half moons old?" Infernopelt scoffed. She shifted, her emerald-green eyes reflecting in the sun. It had begun to snow gently, but the sun still shone through a rare gap in the clouds. Her pelt glowed like fire. She had wandered, trying to find her clan for a long time, but she had not let herself get out of shape, nor did she allow herself to grow hungry. At times it was hard to find enough food, but she managed. It had always felt strange, not having a clan to feed. She could eat anything she caught right then and there.

OOC: No, I mean I STILL would have thrown the snowball then hoped he didn't catch me. x3 Hide in the roots of a tree where he couldn't reach or something. He may be strong, but he's not the fastest runner, though he is fast enough to catch prey. Though he can climb very well. It's the way his legs are built. They're good for leaping, but not for running.

So, basically, like how Littlefeather just did. x3

Dancingautumn pursued her. He suddenly veered off toward a tree. He scaled it with practiced ease, and then leapt from branch to branch faster than he would run. He was able to launch himself with enough force that he was able to accelerate. He gained momentum, being very careful not to trip, and accelerated until he was going very, very slightly faster than Littlefeather. He panted slightly. His back legs were beginning to get tired. When he was far enough in front of her and couldn't take jumping any longer, he jumpt down, right in her path. She was going to fast to be able to stop in the snow before she turned or collided. He grinned.

"I hope you don't run like that in a battle," he teased. "Kidding, though."

    Infernopelt laughed.

"I've been gone for almost eleven moons. Didn't know what else to do," she said, grinning. "I should have gone to camp, more than likely, but I've heard from a few rogues that it was moved since the floods. It is my fault, young one." She approached in a few steps and swept her tongue over his ear. "You have every right to be angry. Your mentor has been teaching you well, I see. You reacted like a true warrior." She looked at Silverpaw. "You as well." The she-cat smiled. "I am Infernopelt. I doubt many remember me, though. It has been such a long time." She paused.

"Well, come, come. Let us return to camp. I have scouted the area beforehand, and I do not believe there are any more rogues. I am interested to see what place was chosen after the flood. I also heard there has been a new leader since then," Infernpelt said. She was suddenly as excited as a kit at its apprentice ceremony, but she contained it.

Dancingautumn chuckled. "Good." He paused. "Oh! There's something I forgot!" He nipped her nose very, very, lightly, barely even touching it with his teeth so that it didn't hurt or break the surface at all. "The cold's gonna get that, too." As if an ominous premonition, a sweep of cold wind blasted them. The tom wriggled out from under her and stared into the snow. He closed his eyes momentarily, trying to remember the way to the hollowed-out tree. He opened his eyes again.

"Come on! I know where we can go, but we have to get there before the blizzard moves in completely!" he called, running towards the tree. It was at the edge of the forest, but if he remembered right, the entrance to the inside of it was on the side of the tree opposite of the direction the storm was coming from. It was about fifty yards away. He ran, hoping she would follow, but making sure he stayed in sight. His pelt could be seen in the snow, but it was getting worse.

    OOC: Sorry! :x

    Infernopelt
    RiverClan

"That much I expected," she said. Infernopelt glanced at Arrowpelt. "I believe I was more than likely thought dead after the flood. Not many knew me anyway. I only went on one or two patrols... I mostly helped out the elders and hunted alone."

    Dancingautumn
    ThunderClan

The snow and wind hid the scent and noise of Leafpaw. He was only concious of Littlefeather following him, and the tree that was only about ten yards ahead. He was surprised at how fast he had run-- he never ran that fast-- but knew it was the reaction of the adrenaline pulsing through his veins. They would die without protection from the snow.

"This way!" he called back to her, though she might have barely heard, for the gales of wind tried to drown his words. He curved around the tree, which was a huge, old oak that had been hollowed out by who knows what. He searched about the roots frantically until he found the small gap under a tangle of roots. He was barely able to fit through it, but he did, pausing and waving his tail outside of the gap to let her know to follow.

OOC: Night! I have to go to bed!

    Dancingautumn
    ThunderClan

Dancingautumn waited for about a minute, then faintly heard Littlewhisker yowl his name. He slipped out immediately, braving the wind and snow and forcing against it. She came in view, but barely. He kept padded forth until he was right beside her.

"Come on! The entrance is in a gap in the roots!" he turned and slowly began to make his way back, so that she could still keep up and not get lost.

    Nightfawn
    ThunderClan

    Nightfawn nodded.

"I'm curious to the source of it, as well," the she-cat said. She ran a bit to catch up with him, then easily kept pace beside him, putting herself between him and the river. She did this because she wanted to examine it, just out of curiosity. She couldn't tell if it was cat blood, since the water dilluted it and disguised its scent. Nightfawn gulped.

"It doesn't stop. Wherever it's coming from, it must be a gruesome battle," she commented with a wince.

    Infernopelt
    RiverClan

Infernopelt wondered who Robinpaw was, but they seemed extremely worried about her, so she nodded and agreed to go. She followed them, keeping pace easily.

    OOC: Infernpelt, out.
