Kate switched out a couple books from her bag and slammed her locker. She pulled her iPhone out of her pocket and glanced down at it while meandering through the traffic in the hallway to get to her class.

Morgan nodded, panic flooding her eyes as the zombies pounded on the wooden barn doors. With every hit, a sliver of light appeared, and then disappeared. The doors couldn't hold much longer. She felt for her gun's holster and her sword's sheath at her waist. Feeling both, she felt reassured. She climbed into the back of the truck and waited.
