The tomcat spun around to see Orangepaw's bright and cheery face. "Oh, hello Orangepaw." He mewed, standing up and smiling nervously at the other DarkClan apprentice. Falconpaw was always shy around new cats at first, but usually when he got to know them better, he was alright. "So, um... how are you?" He asked, trying to break the awkward silence by stammeringly asking a simple question. Why am I so shy of everything new? He wondered sigh-fully to himself, awaiting the orange she-cat's answer.

The striped tomcat purred as his Clanmate spoke jokingly, although his purr was quiet, like a soft whip of chilly wind. "That's good. It would be horrible if you were dead." He grinned back slightly, his deep copper eyes nervous and shy, like a newborn fawn. His fluffy fur was flat on his back from a recent grooming before Orangepaw had come along, although his tail stayed in it's usual puffy state. "I guess I'm going well as well, I napped a little while ago." His mouth opened in a wide yawn, and he twitched his whiskers in amusement. "Hawkside's not doing well, though."

The young apprentice grinned slightly, appreciating the she-cat's thoughtfulness. "Thanks Orangepaw. Hawkside's stable, though. That's good." His eye glinted, indicating hope. Falconpaw always tried to see the good in things, trying to block out the bad and evil from his own 'little world'. Attempting to lighten the mood of the conversation, Falconpaw grasped for words to talk to the bubbly she-cat. "So, um, Orangepaw? How's your training going?" The fawn-tabby tomcat looked back up from his paws to Orangepaw.

"That's okay." Falconpaw comforted her shyly and quietly. "I also only just started, this is my second day of being an apprentice." A small, weak smile escaped his mouth, his ear flicking once. "We could um, go hunting if you like. Newleaf brings out newborn prey." He hoped Orangepaw would say yes, it would really help him get his mind off his mentor, and help him make some good friends. He curled his fluffy, fawn-tabby tail around his neatly-set paws and shyly asked.
"I can't believe it, Speedpaw!" Coyotepaw beamed like a ray of sunlight in the morning. "There are so many trees! In WindClan there is barely one!" A chuckle escaped her throat.
Unaware of the cat spying on them, Coyotepaw nodded in utter agreement. "The wind is so bitter in Leaf-bare! Trees would protect us." She puffed out her pelt, just staring into the distance.

Falconpaw smiled back, only one side of his mouth grinning. He surely wasn't the brave and noble falcon you'd expect him to be. Nope, this tomcat was as shy and nervous as a springy hare. "Okay, we can leave now, if you like." He slowly got to his paws, his fluffy tail sweeping the floor. He flinched slightly as he noticed Littlepaw behind him. "Oh, um..hi there Littlepaw." He mewed gently, ears pricked up like trees. "Of course you can come." He said hello to the she-cat and told her she could come, then hopped behind them, off to the DarkClan camp entrance.

The silver chinchilla she-cat watched as Whiteflame fell with a thud to the ground. Her kind and gentle heart urged to help the SunClan cat, but she told herself not to. No, no, no Coyotepaw! They took Plasmaflare and Spiralpaw! SunClan cannot be treated sweetly! She just stood there, chest puffed out proudly. Did I win?

"So do I." Falconpaw was surprised when a large purr rumbled inside his throat, making his flattened his ears shyly. He continued to trot through the lush, evergreen forest with the two she-cats, feeling happy. Friends...I have friends! The tomcat awed; he never thought he would achieve many friends, for his shyness and nervousness always seemed to shield him from such things. He grinned meekly as his eyes followed Orangepaw's vibrant pelt. His ears were perked high up now, alert for danger and prey.
"No, we're from WindClan!" Coyotepaw pursed her lips closed when she realized she couldn't have said that. Bad Coyotepaw, bad Coyotepaw! She scowled herself.

He was impressed with Littlepaw's hunting, it was good. He turned to face Orangepaw. "Well, um.." He stammered, shuffling his paws slightly. "Copy what I do." The slender tomcat opened his jaws a little, scenting. "Vole." He whispered to the orange she-cat as he crouched down on the ground, his haunches raised. "Now silently stalk closer." He told her gently as he began to move in that position, his ears flat on his head. "Then you leap." He said a little louder, leaping on the vole. It tried to escape, squeaking in fright and dashing off, but Falconpaw lunged at it, and the struggle was over.
"We're not spies!" The words made Coyotepaw's tail lash out, and she became serious. "We were just exploring!"

Coyotepaw spun round at the sound of Rainbowpaw. She faced her, staring right into her eyes. Her fluffy, plumed tail lashed out and her whiskers twitched, claws unsheathing to be ready. Her head was placed low, ready to charge at any moment, and her ears flattened like a bandage against her head.
"We, we...." Coyotepaw gaped for words, eventually gazing over to Speedpaw for help.

The pale-colored she-cat heard what Whiteflame said, but didn't look back. Instead, she gazed at Rainbowpaw. Her heart raced. She was just a rookie apprentice, and hardly had any battle training. She was usually bubbly and kind, but got serious when a battle started.
