    Pineleaf nodded, "You should go."

Dustflare sighed heavily, suddenly getting to his paws and turning, revealing his scarred face. On the left side, his ear was shredded nearly to the skull and his eye was frozen shut inside of a patch of furless scarred skin, ugly and horrible while the rest of his face was criss-crossed with other scars. He gazed at Tawnykit and Splatterpaint with his one good eye, his gaze hard as he meowed in his rasping tones, "No Pineleaf, let them see. Let them learn what I found out the hard way. This is what war looks like kit! It's not glorious and in it, honor has no place. This is what happens when you are cocky and foolish and looking for a fight. This was my downfall, this is my curse."

Pineleaf was at the tom's side in an instant, pressing her fur against him and licking his good ear comfortingly, "Shh, Dustflare, it wasn't your fault."

Dustflare turned his eerie silver-green gaze on the medicine cat, no emotion but regret in them as he snarled, "You weren't there, you don't know that!"

Dustflare gazed after the she-cats. To him, he thought they had been lying, hiding their fear of him. He didn't look fine. He shook off Pineleaf's comforting words and stalked back to his nest, turning his back on the world once more.

Ridgepath let out a growl of annoyance. Now he had to train another annoying furball? At least it made him one step closer to becoming the new deputy. Now all he had to do was coerce Solarstorm into doing his bidding.

Ooc~ Ridgepath needs to start coercing Solarstorm soon too. Is that okay with you Sapphirewolf? It's kinda important to the plot with Dustflare that he get either the deputy or leader to rename him.

Ic~ Ridgepath rolled his eyes, "Shut up!" he snapped, "Warriors must be silent if they want to sneak up on an enemy or to catch prey! Your exuberance-" he spat the word like it was a nasty piece of crowfood, "could very easily get you killed!"

Thistlepaw let out a hissing sigh of annoyance and nodded tightly.

Timberkit glared at Songheart, his eyes full of anger that he didn't care who took the burn of.

Fallenwing heard the yowl and padded out of the nursery, leaving her tiny son curled up in the moss. "Poor dears." she cooed, padding over and curling her tail around the four kits. "If they need a mother I'm sure Splinterkit wouldn't mind having some littermates."

Starlight stared at her paws, trying to feign sympathy for the kits when inside her heart was breaking. She would never be able to take care of her poor babies.

    Ooc~ No problem :)

Ic~ Dustflare nodded, not looking at Ashpaw or speaking.

Pineleaf sighed as she gazed at the hurt tom. He was so broken. She turned to her apprentice and forced a smile, "Yes Ashpaw, we can go now." she purred, padding out of the medicine den.

Crookedmask got to his paws as he saw his sister and padded over. "Do you need any escort?" he asked, flicking his tail back and forth. "Just for part of the way you know? Make sure nothing goes wrong." The truth was that he was itching to get out of camp without Ridgepath being there to torment him.

Fallenwing nodded to the tom, a soft smile on her face as she bent her head and picked up two of the kits, carrying them to the nursery and laying them by Splinterkit, who mewled softly in confusion of the new bundles of fur. She gave the tiny tom a few soothing licks before going back for the other two kits. "I will do my best for them." she promised in a soft voice. (Should her and Rainstorm be littermates or something?)

Timberkit glanced at Thistlekit, who nodded stiffly, flicking his tail towards the she-cat. Timberkit let out a soft hiss and got to his paws, padding after her. "Fine, I'll go." he muttered.

Crookedmask heard a soft rustling and turned, padding over to Lunapaw with a slightly playful smile on his face, "Can't have you sneaking up on the cats I'm escorting can I?" he meowed, flicking her with his tail.

Pineleaf turned and smiled at the apprentice, "Come along Crookedmask, Ashpaw. We should try to get to the Moonpool before the night is over!"
