"Right, how do I fix this? How do I fix this?" Devon muttered, his eyes looking frantically for a way to wake Ariel up. He felt responsible for Ariel's current state; if he hadn't let her leave, this never would have happened.
-
As the snakes were encasing Ariel she heard her name and screamed for help, hoping she could be heard. Usually, the fears that Ariel found did not attack her, but this case seemed to be different, and she did not like it at all. She remembered the few occasions that this had happened to her before, which tended to be when she was sick; not sick with an illness like the flu, but sick in a much more severe way that no doctor she had ever seen could identify. Of course, no one knew about this, Ariel had always made sure it stayed secret at least until she could find out what was wrong.
-
Ariel screamed for help again, louder this time; after hearing her name called for a second time, she wasn't sure if she had been heard the first time.
-
*cries and falls over*
-
Ariel nodded and her eyes flashed open; she was back in the physical world. The girl sat up slowly and stretched out one of her hands, not surprised to see that she was violently shaking; this was how it had happened before. "I'm sorry for that," she whispered to no one in particular. "That doesn't normally happen."
-
"Madison," Mariah stated, uninterested with the question.
"Nothing right now," Brandon said, finally looking at Nyx.
-
Ariel and Devon stood together and walked back in silence. Devon wondered what had happened to make Ariel so unresponsive and how Smokey had fixed it; maybe he would ask, but not now. As they returned to where the group was, Devon walked back to the tree he had been at earlier, wanting a little space to think.
Ariel did not stop as she reached the group, but instead hoisted herself into a tree and climbed into a more concealed place. She pulled her knees to her chest and hid her face in her hands, trying to calm herself down. She knew that she shouldn't have gone out and tried her powers; she knew that something was wrong with her again; and she knew that she needed to tell someone before things got worse. But who am I supposed to trust? Ariel wondered dismally.
-
Ariel had not been watching the four as they interacted, but she did listen to them with interest. It was odd how intent Bunny and Kyra were on setting Smokey and Eko up together, especially given their personalities. Honestly, Ariel had always found that two people with the same personality did not work well in a relationship together, but that was just from her observations. Shaking her head, she continued to walk a little way away from the group, not feeling too social at the moment. The malfunction with her power had thrown her off and Ariel really just wanted to figure out what was going on; of course, no normal doctor could tell her, and she didn't know who else to ask.
-
"Just a couple of days," Mariah replied, starting to look bored with the interrogation.
"I'll go with you; I don't really have anyone else to talk to right now..." Brandon said with a shrug.
-
Ariel looked over at Smokey and nodded slowly, not sure she had another option. It wasn't like anyone else seemed to understand what was wrong with her, and if anyone did, wouldn't it be one of the people she was with now?
-
"They had me do a lot of work with medicine, so I spent most of my time in the infirmary," Mariah replied.
Brandon followed Nyx silently...
-
"Alright," Brandon muttered with a small nod.
"No, I only did work in the infirmary," Mariah said with a frown still etched in her face.
-
Ariel hid in the shadows of a building nearby, taking in everything as it happened. She held one of her daggers in her hand in case someone she didn't want around her was lurking nearby, and her bright eyes shot around the scene, waiting for a movement to catch her eye. Ariel's long brown hair was hidden under a furry winter cap, but she had not been able to do anything else to conceal her appearance; of course, the girl was not too worried about being recognized as long as she could stay on her feet.
Devon crouched in a dark corner, a pistol in each hand with a finger on the triggers. He searched for movements of identifiable people nearby, hoping that he might be able to find an ally, but expecting to find an enemy instead.
-
"I'm sure it's big enough to conceal us for at least a short while, but I wonder if it might also be big enough to get easily lost in," Brandon mused, toying with the flashlight hanging from his belt. "If that's the case, we ought to start marking things."
"Respect is widely displayed among the rebel forces, I've found; if you don't respect others there, you won't be respected generally," Mariah replied, her eyes hiding any sign of hurt as Tryggr brought up the respect she was shown in the base; what she said was true, but she had always seen more respect than those who worked by her side, both because of the position she held and the way she treated everyone else.

We can always help move you along with the rp, I'm sure; it would be nice to get it active again.

It's night here too, just felt the urge to say it even though I can't do a Snape voice over the Internet.
