Enria shook her head, "No. Let's head home first. Make sure everyone is alright."

Aimee watched the hologram, eyes narrowed in determination, "I wish I could say yes to helping you fight them. But my hands are tied." She shrugged, sighing, "I swore an oath of loyalty. And even though I realize that what he has done is wrong, thie king is still my king. He's spared me once. I can't break that oath." She looked at them pleadingly, praying they would understand.
Todd and Terro flew over the forest, watching the army march. A few archers kept trying to shoot him down, but he was too high, beyond their range. Terro glided on a thermal, the massive dragon staying aloft with surprising ease. Every so often, they'd zip a fire ball down onto the soldiers, just to keep them on their toes.
-
Enria walked in, holding a large, rat-like rodent in her mouth. She spat it out and began to clean herself as she looked around the cave. "Nice place. This'll do great while we rest up." She then looked towards Fox, "Still pretty barren out there. only thing I could find was a hyrax, since they sheltered inside some rock crevices." She poked the large rodent with a paw as she explained.
Arend looked up as the East pride lionesses came over again. Honestly, she just did not want to leave. He gave her a wary glance, "Can I help you?"
-
Todd and Terro flew in, breathless with excitement. As his massive dragon roared the news of the attack to his brethren, Todd did the same, yelling out, "They're within a day's march of here! If they get too much closer, they'll be able to use arrows and magic on us in here!"
Aimee nodded to James, hand on her dagger and the other on her bow, "I'll fight if I must."
Thron looked towards Westley and waved his long tail, Good Luck! And don't worry, none will get past me! He reared up on his hind legs, Aimee still standing on his head and swaying as she kept her balence. He then discharged a small bolt of electricity, his scales alight with the blueish glow.
-
Arend looked at Rage in surprise, fur standing on end. This was highly unusual and he wasn't sure how to respond. So he looked towards Ren, with a smile, "What do you say Ren? A leader must be able to make such decisions."
Enria picked it up and padded over to Fox, laying beside him. Her ash-smudged fur brushed against him and she smiled, dropping the hyrax between them, "We can share."
(Hey, welcome, StardomOfWishes! Accepted!)
-
Arend nodded to Ren, accepting his decision, then went back to grooming and thoroughly ignoring his surroundings as he began to plan for the hard months ahead.
Enria smiled at him, her eyes gleaming. She reached down and took a bite, gently brushing her face against his as they ate.
-
Aimee suited up in some light leather armour and began to set up. She carefully laid out her arrows, keeping her normal ones separate from her special little friends. She wasn't planning on doing too much fighting, but she would if she had to.
Todd and Terro flew over the approaching army, ignoring the aerial battles raging around them. Their goal was to take out the cannons and all the war machines ((by which I mean catapults and trebuchets, that sort of thing)). So they dove down towards the soldiers and Todd unsheathed Ferrous, the large greatsword whistling as the rushing air split on its edge and made it ring. Terro let loose with a massive stream of flame, aimed directly at the cannons.
-
Aimee smiled, carefully lifting up one of her special arrows and examining it, "Well, I don't like to brag..." she said with false modesty, grinning, "But I am one of the top archers in the king's army. And these," She showed Lacy a simple looking arrow with an odd head, "are one of the best weapons he's got. Allow me to demonstrate." She mimed as those she were putting the arrow to her bow, then tossed it across the room. After traveling a few feet, the tip burst open and sprayed small pellets everywhere. Aimee beamed, "And then Thron does his shock thing and electrocutes anyone that's touching them." Thron lifted his head, about to demonstrate, but Aimee hurriedly explained that they were not going to shock anyone right now.
Todd and Terro swooped down, blasting a hole through the guards of the cannons. Terro reached out and grabbed one between his clawed feet and began to hover, swinging it any soldier who came too close. Todd slid down and stood on the end of Terro's tail, protecting his dragon from that side. His goal was to blow up their gunpowder, but they'd been smart and buried it so only the tops of the barrels showed. As soon as he'd come at them, they'd slung dirt on top and protected their powder.
-
"Yeah, Fox?" She looked up from the remnants of their meal and licked some blood off her nose, "What is it?"
Arend smiled, rolling over and patting Layla with his paws gently.
-
Aimee grinned, impressed, "Nice shooting! It's been a while since I've met anyone with anything resembling true skill. The king's archers are pretty good, but have no finesse or style. They just sort of launch arrows and hope to they hit an enemy." Aimee pulled an apple out of a nearby pack, stuck it on the tip of her arrow, and shot it up into the air at full strength.
Thron saw it fly and took off after it, catching the apple-tipped arrow neatly and landing in front of his rider, looking very proud of himself.
Terro ripped up another cannon and threw it through the air at Galbatorix's dragon. Todd was busy fighting off attacking soldiers, using brute force to smash helmets and dent armour. Some managed to escape with only minor injuries, but the fierce duo was taking no prisoners.
-
Arend laughed as the cub pestered him and he gently pushed her off his belly, "Soon, Layla, very soon. I promise, the next hunt will include you." He licked her head, then stood and padded off towards the crater edge.
Enria stared at Fox, surprise running through her. He wanted her as queen? Of course she wanted to be queen! But how should she respond? If she was too eager, he'd think she'd been trying to get that position all along. But if she sounded too bored, maybe he'd decide to make another lioness queen. She blurted out, without thinking first, "Did you really have to ask? Of course I will."
-
Todd and Terro finally managed to find the gunpowder and they took off, speeding into the air. As soon as they'd gotten high enough, Terro let loose a massive sheet of fire. It ripped into the soldiers below who were frantically trying to rebury the gunpowder. There was a slight pause, then a massive explosion rocked the battlefield, sending soldiers, cannons, and even Todd and Terro, flying through the air.
-
Terro and Todd, pleased with their destruction, turned to the sky battle. The two flew towards Draxx, armor glistening in the sunlight. They might not be the fastest, but their size and strength made them formidable opponents. Todd lifted his sword, eyes narrowed on Axel, while Terro began to gather his breath for a fire attack.
-
Todd and Terro followed, the rider shouting taunts at the retreating pair.
-
Todd didn't trust him, so urged his dragon on, and they rose above the two. Once they had gained proper height and were directly above Draxx, Terro's wings folded and they dropped down towards Axel and Draxx. Terro's long claws aimed at the smaller dragon's wings, trying to tear them.
-
((Um, if his wings are ripped, he's not going to fly very well))
Todd and Terro followed, the dragon aiming a few small fireballs.
-
Todd and Terro landed, looking disappointed, "What? We missed the fun fight? Daanng it..." Todd grumpily sheathed his sword, arms crossed. Terro sniffed Demon, his scales clacking as his muscles rippled. You made short work of them!
Aimee watched from a ledge, eyes scanning the battle. She saw the fight and saw the king fall. Emotion overwhelmed her and she sank back and tears began to run down her face.
-
Terro and Todd took off once more, heading for the army. The dragon began to flame, fire pouring from his mouth.
-
Aimee turned towards the returning riders, smiling as tears ran down her face, "The king is dead! Long live the king!"
-

Arend grazed alone, tail flicking across his hocks. He was nowhere near the beach, so he had heard none of the commotion. He simply relaxed, enjoying a beautiful day and some delicious clover.
