Obsidian turned to Asta, and sternly said, "It's not polite to ask questions that aren't warranted." she said. Blinking, she coughed a little bit and turned back. What was that? She frowned and shook her head in a small apology. "It... would be most appreciated if you helped us. The stay is only temporary, if you choose to let us,"

Dot stayed close to Sepsis. Her nose wrinkled at his strong garlic-smell, but she had noticed that his wounds looked cleaner... not as yellow and festering as they had been. Maybe it was helping. Maybe. And he didn't smell like death anymore either, so she at least thought on the bright side of that. She paused for a moment, her nose twitching. She couldn't smell much over the strong stink of Sepsis's garlicy pelt, but she could smell some others nearby. A different pack, maybe. She turned to Sepsis. "Are you feeling better?" the silver husky asked.

Dot nodded and followed the wolf, staying close to him. Her pelt had scars, too, not as plentiful as Sepsis's, but a long one ran along her neck. She winced at the memory, but it was healed now, even if her voice was still a little raspy. One on her foot reminded her of the burning branch that fell on her when she was a pup. She was snapped back to reality when she heard a voice that wasn't Sepsis's. "I think we're close. Do you know them?" she asked.

BLARRGH. Who thought it was a good idea to have finals after Christmas break instead of before? I mean, I might have been a little less prepared, but at least I would've had them over with.

I'm going to set up a major strict schedule to follow for finals - studying, homework, and I'm starting driver's ed right with the start of school, too, so that chips out two hours of my evening every night for about two weeks.

    So.

From 6:00 AM to 6:30 I might be on to reply to a few topics, maybe look after some reports, etc, but then I have to get into the shower.
6:30-7:00 AM: Shower, getting ready, finishing homework if I need to, printing stuff out, etc.
7:00-7:20 AM: Checking some stuff out on the site, maybe, and studying.
Unfortunately, from 7:20 to 8:00 I don't have internet access as I'm driving to school.
8:00-8:20 AM: I might have some time to get on and check out reports/reply to topics if I'm needed.
8:20 AM-2:20PM: I may be on sporadically, if I have any off hours or we have free time in class, otherwise, I'm dead throughout the entire day. Straight days suck, but I'm usually good during third hour, which is around 11-ish, so I can check stuff out. I have to keep the window tiny, though, because my classmates are snooty and would make fun of me (:I), so I probably can't post at all.
2:20-5:00 PM: Homework. Bleh. I won't be on at all. I'm trying to get my grades up. I have a 3.5 GPA right now, but if I completely ace all of my finals, I can bring it up to a 3.7 or even a 3.8, which I need to do.
5:00-6:00 PM: Free time. I know. It sucks that I only have this tiny amount of time to do anything, really.
6:00-9:00 PM: I have no idea what time my driver's ed is going to be, but it's during this time frame. I won't be on at all.
9:00-10:00 PM: Free time. I'll look after reports and everything. :)

So, yes. I'm cracking down like wildfire to get my grades up. They aren't bad, I guess (my lowest grade is barely a B. I could get it up to a B+ or even an A- if I aced my oral final exam ((it's french class. meh)) ), but at the same time, I feel like an underachiever for saying that they aren't bad. Because in theory, I should be getting all As.

So, I'm going to try to bring my B+ average up to maybe an A average, with a few A- scattered here and there.

I'm really sorry I'll be on less, but I'm going to be on, so no worries. Just a little less active is all. :)

Obsidian recognized the voice and turned, seeing Ravenaura. For the first time in her life, she felt ashamed at her own tribe. Sorry that they couldn't find their own way to help themselves. What is wrong with you, Obsidian? You couldn't have prevented this... she reminded herself curtly. It must have been the anxiety.

"Ravenaura..." Obsidian smiled, but on the inside, she felt as if she would break down right then and there. Her home... it was gone... she had no idea if they would ever return to the mountain, but the prospect seemed unlikely. It was the second time it had erupted in her lifetime - a highly unsuitable area for cats to live.

"I'm so sorry about this. We come in peace, I swear to you. I would never lead an attack upon a clan without provocation." she explained, noting the caution in his voice.

"May I speak to Winterstar?" she asked, her jet-black pelt speckled with ashes.

Dot shrunk back as all of the wolves started toward them. They were... huge! She'd only ever seen three wolves in her lifetime, Sepsis, Leprosy and Truyi, but she hardly remembered how big any of them were. Well, except for Sepsis. She saw him fall on his back and frowned, nudging him to get up. "Sepsis, you'd better stand up." she whispered, low enough that only he could hear. She was afraid.

"Er... Hello!" she barked, her voice raspy, not because she was nervous, but from a previous injury she had sustained. She backed up closer to Sepsis.

Obsidian nodded her head slowly. "I'm sorry." she said. She didn't know the circumstances of his disappearance, but she wasn't going to ask Ravenaura. He seemed a little distraught - but Obsidian didn't think it made the clan look any weaker. Her entire tribe was at the doorstep of the clan. She sighed and tilted her head back up.

"I would hate to ask anything of you right now, but may we talk, you in Winterstar's absence?" she asked courteously.

Yoko sat on the edge of the border, stick straight, her green eyes trained forward. She wasn't going to take a step onto the territory until a cat in the tribe happened by, and then she would ask if she could be taken to see the leader.

She was terribly sick of wandering around on her own - it was more fun to be in a group anyways. A gust of wind rippled through her grey pelt, and her face, scarred in an eternal scowl, stayed forward, and she waited. Patiently. Quietly.

Obsidian's slender black body snuck into the gathering quietly. She didn't want to cause a scene or draw attention to herself, especially not in her sorry state. Bones poked through her pelt, her face was gaunt, and even the scar on her face from a battle long ago seemed more pronounced. Ashes still clung to the tips of her fur.

She took a seat next to Ellen, whom she had seen before at the gatherings but never personally met, and uttered a small greeting.

Dot jumped when the golden wolf snapped at her, but she held her ground. She shuddered a little; these wolves were hostile, for some reason, against them. Dot didn't understand why, though, she had never even met them. Unless they were just angry at Sepsis for some reason... "He... he is my friend..." Dot explained, taking another step toward Sepsis. She looked down at him and then back at the other wolves. She was frustrated; partly with Sepsis, partly with herself for not noticing the scent of this... pack-thing. Sighing, she noted that the stench of garlic hung heavily in the air. "M...Mutt? I'm not a mutt..." Dot said naively, not understanding the context in which the wolf spoke.

When the one who seemed to be the alpha of the pack spoke next, she shot her head toward her. "Information?" she asked, an involuntary smile starting to form on her maw. "Oh dear... I don't really know much about anything. But alright, I guess. What kind of information?" she asked quietly.

Obsidian turned her head toward Ellen, frowning. "Thank you." she mumbled. "I'm fine. Just a bit frazzled is all." Suddenly the black she-cat's eyes widened.

Oh dear! she thought self consciously, beginning to lick the ashes off of her leg frantically. Her fur was knotted, she hadn't had a good meal in ages, and oh... she must have looked awful. Absolutely awful.

Tears started welling up in her eyes when her head snapped back and she suddenly realized that she was too tired to care about it.

"Well?" Obsidian snorted. She didn't mean it rudely, but a volcano did destroy her home after all. She sighed. "No, I suppose things aren't well. My tribe has had a tumultuous few weeks." she said.

    Obsidian blinked and nodded tentatively.

"I don't know if any of you remember, as I myself was a small kit when it happened, but a long time ago, the mountain that the tribe lives - lived, sorry, on exploded." she explained. "The ground shook beforehand. Well, it happened again, only the Tribe of Freezing Comets had attacked my tribe with some of their allies, and we were battling in the cave when the ground shook. The cave very nearly collapsed, and many of my own cats were injured gravely." She took a breath, and began again.

"The volcano erupted again later that day," she said. She thought over what she had said for a moment before adding quickly, "I am doing the best I can to handle the situation." she stole a glance at Ravenaura.

She stopped talking on that note and started licking her paw again, running it over her ear.

"I would like to request shelter." Obsidian said finally. "Our home has been destroyed by the volcano that took it from us many seasons ago; and we can't go back. Many cats have been lost, and..." she paused for a moment.

"Your clan granted our tribe shelter here once before. It won't be for long, only until we find somewhere else to stay." she added quickly.

Puma was there, but a little set apart from the group, as he was still dragging around the injured Radiance, who was coughing. She had inhaled the black smoke, and she was terribly weak. Puma set her down for a moment, telling her to stay there, and ran toward his mother. "Are you ok?" he asked.
