Shadowkit's fur fluffed up until she looked more like a ball of fur than a kitten but she padded on. She refused to turn back now, not when she had finally made it out of the camp without anyone spotting her. She just wanted to have a little adventure, nothing was wrong with that! She heard a voice in the distance calling her name. She turned back a bit her fur lowering back to her sides before trodding on. She would not give up now. She would show everyone how brave she was.

A moon after she was apprenticed to a tom named Thistlestream, Summerstem's adopted mother died of Greencough. Summerstream was devasted as Mountainriver was the closest thing she had to a mother.

Springstem padded into the den her eyes bright with excitement, being a new warrior made even walking into the warrior's den an adventure. She purred loudly before silencing quickly at the mood in the den. "What's wrong Moontail?" she asked, concern obvious in her voice.

Springstem's brows furrowed as she contemplated Moontail's speech; "But we can't have peace without war. If we never fought then the other clans would claim our borders and we would be wiped out. We need to fight to survive."

Springstem understood that Moontail wanted peace, but she didn't understand how that could happen. "If we talked it out we'd be seen as weak and the other clans would take our borders!" She protested

Springstem did not like war in particular but felt it was necessary. "It's not like I love war!" Springstem protested vehemently against the unsaid accusation. "We need war! You know ShadowClan would never just 'talk it out'! If we tried they would annhilate us!" She understood that Moontail hated war, but why couldn't she understand it was necessary? Her happy mood had snapped and now she was angry. She turned away to leave, not wanting to explode at Moontail as she knew she would if she didn't get out of the den. "bye!" she called over her shoulder, her anger fading already.

Eaglestripe padded toward the freshkill pile and grabbed a mouse from the top. He sat down to eat by himself. Though he was friendly enough there was no one he really counted as a close friend. He sighed as he sat down. He hadn't eaten with someone else in ages.

She laughed quietly as she heard the noise again and realized she'd been listening to the wind rattling in the grass. She stretched as she pulled herself out of her nest. It would soon be dawn and she was due for patrol. She padded out of the den her eyes still blurry.
