Twocloud told the rest of the patrol to go on without him. He bounded up into a tree and hoped that Coalsong would come to the border this morning even though they were supposed to meet in the evening.

Charcoalsong mewed in agreement and started backing away.

The clan cats padded over to Valeska. "Do you mind if we take the kit home with us. We can take good care of her," Bearstrike asked.

Charcoalsky didn't know whether to believe in the cat. He glanced at Fallenrain.

Mooncloud sat in a corner and watched the cats.

Charcoalsky entered camp and left Ivypaw to go and see Bearstar in his den.

Charcoalsky snarled at the cougar.

Twocloud's heart leapt when he saw Coalsong. He bounded down from the tree and mewed a welcome, licking her ear.

"That is very kind of you. Thank you so much for helping us. Is there anything we can do in exchange?"

[br]I am a ghostly-looking tom with passion in my eyes and a light, bouncy spring to my walk. I am restless and cannot stand or sit still, but I would never intentionally hurt another.
[br]When I was a kit our mother fell in love with a rogue tom and started seeing him in secret. Our father left to hunt him down. He did, and killed the rogue. Our mother never forgave him for this and she never came back to our Clan. I never saw her again. I was told that she had been killed by a coyote, and I only learnt the truth later.

[br]I am a short furred she-cat with mysterious eyes and a missing tail. I am impatient with other cats and can be overly critical of them, but I have a way of being two steps ahead of most other cats.
[br]My half-sister mysteriously disappeared when I was a kit.

[br]I am a bristly furred tom with deep, thoughtful eyes and a slender build. I can be really rude and put my foot in my mouth a lot, but no matter what, my heart is in the right place.
[br]I was the runt of my litter, but have fought and accomplished a lot.

Duststripes thought hard. "I suppose my sister could take them, Dawnspot. She has one almost ready to be apprenticed kit. He's called Luckykit. She could take them," Duststripes suggested.

Dream world:
Bearstrike wondered through the forest keeping Leafstorm close to his side. "Do you have any idea where he might be?"

Back to real world:

Stormkit stared at Fawntail in horror but glad she was Ok.

Shadekit could not believe the amount of drama that was going on around him.

Twocloud let out a purr of amusement. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. Are we still on for this evening?" He mewed excitedly.

"Bearstar, I need to talk to you. Ivypaw has been sneaking off and going to the Twolegplace to eat catnip. I was wondering what you had to say" Charcoalsky mewed.

Bearstar looked at the two cats. "Is this true Ivypaw?"

I was wondering whether mine is nearly done yet.
