Send My Love (To Your New Lover) - AdeleSummary: The point of “Send My Love (to Your New Lover) is that Adele wants to move on, and she wants to encourage the man in the relationship to move on as well. They were kids, but now they’re adults, and it’s time to “let go of all our ghosts” and for whatever new thing will come in their adult lives.
In the First Verse, Adele explains the nature of her relationship with the man who “Send My Love” is about. She sings, “This was all you, none of it me”: the problems in the relationship are his fault—not hers—and she explains why. He “put [his] hands on, on [her] body and told [her]” that he was “ready / For the big one, for the big jump.” When people talk about relationships, the “big one” is usually a reference to marriage, a lifelong commitment and the biggest one in the course of a relationship.
In the Pre-chorus, after she’s explained his wrongdoing in the first verse, she says, “I’m giving you up.” She’s not bitter, but she’s no longer interested in waiting for him. She’s “forgiven it all” and sings that he’s “set me free.” His lack of commitment has been her gain, and now she doesn’t feel she owes him something the way she might have when he spoke of marriage at first.
In the Chorus, Adele wishes him and his next lover the best. She sings, “Send my love to your new lover,” as a way of showing that she wishes him no ill will, though perhaps it may be a “wink and nod” to the struggles that the new girl may have to face. She tells the man to “Treat her better” and says that as far as he and she go, “We gotta let go of all of our ghosts / We both know we ain’t kids no more.” She’s ready to move on and to act like an adult. She’s less likely to believe loving sentiments from people like him, and she better understands how “love” can go wrong. She wants him to understand his error, to fix it, and to let go of his past with her.
Verse Two touches more on their differences and better describes how he held her back: “I was too strong. You were trembling / You couldn’t handle the hot heat rising.” While he was afraid to commit or to take the relationship further, Adele sings that she was “so rising,” ready to be serious. While she was “running,” he was “walking,” “couldn’t keep up,” and was “falling down.” Adele took a more serious approach to life and commitment, while he was too afraid to try hard and that led to his mistreating her and their relationship. She came on strong, and the only way out for him was down or “the only way down,” which here refers to “falling.”
In the Bridge, she sings, “If you’re ready, if you’re ready / If you’re ready, I am ready.” She’s being considerate and leaving bitterness behind. She wants to know if he is going to let the past fade away and if they can move on to other things, forgetting their relationship. She repeats similar words in the Outro but melds them together with her “Send my love to your new lover” and “treat her better.”
Battle Scars - Lupe Fiasco & Guy Sebastian"Battle Scars" is a song about the scars left from hurtful and broken relationships. In a radio interview Sebastian said, "It's about your own personal battle scars and for every individual those are different; some might be words or labels... it might be relationship scars. When I wrote this song, and when Lupe wrote his bits, we just really wanted it to be something that just inspired people to, sort of, confront those things, and also maybe try and work to think about burying and ripping up those labels; throwing them away."
If You Could See Me Now - The ScriptThe third single off the Irish band’s third album,“#3”, is a call put to two of the band members' parents who have passed away – lead singer Danny O'Donoghue’s father, Shay O'Donoghue, and both guitarist Mark Sheehan’s parents. O'Donoghue’s father had reportedly passed away on the Valentine’s Day of the band’s writing process of their very first single, “We Cry”, on their first recorded studio album, “The Script”. From sources, Sheehan’s parents passed away in the guitarist’s early age of twelve.

SITE ACTIVITY | I go on and check this site daily.
PREFERRED GENRES | Anything with human fc's; the supernatural, (mental) hospitals, post-apocalypse, orphanage, romance, etc. I enjoy horror-esque RPs, but those aren't as common. For animals, I RP small felines in any society, excluding tribes. I'm good with gxg, bxb, and bxg alike.
LITERACY | semi-advanced on a higher spectrum to advanced; depends on my use for the thread, really, but usually I don't write less than 5+ sentences per post, even with a low muse, so... semi-advanced at the least. I usually go for those because it allows me to slack off a little bit
PREFERRED LITERACY | good punctuation, grammar, and 300+ words per post; lowercase is fine is it's for appearance only, because honestly I'm not picky.
COMFORT LEVELS | no celebrities; I don't really know anything about them, so it's probably not going to work out anyway.
GENERAL MUSE | 8-10, but recently it has maintained a good 9.
ANY CURRENT PLOTS | n/a
OTHER INFO | I might lose my muse for a thread if it doesn't sail smoothly; I'm known for that, actually, but as long as I'm still interested in the story, I'll be a great writing partner :) -

PERSONA →
People like Jack are, for lack of a better word, popular. In high school, Jack was mixed in with the cheerleaders and the quarterbacks, setting the tone, taking the spotlight and leading their teams forward to victory and fame. Later in life, Jack continues to enjoy supporting his friends and loved ones, organizing social gatherings and doing his best to make sure everyone is happy.
At heart, he is a social creature, and thrives on staying up to date with what his friends are doing.
Discussing scientific theories or debating European politics isn't likely to capture Jack's interest for too long. He is more concerned with fashion and his appearance, his social status and the standings of other people. Practical matters and gossip are his bread and butter, but Jack does his best to use this powers for good.
Jack is an altruist, and he takes seriously their responsibility to help and to do the right thing. Unlike his diplomat relatives however, Jack will base his moral compass on established traditions and laws, upholding authority and rules, rather than drawing his morality from philosophy or mysticism. It's important for Jack to remember though, that people come from many backgrounds and perspectives, and what may seem right to him isn't always an absolute truth.
Jack loves to be of service, enjoying any role that allows him to participate in a meaningful way, so long as he knows that he is valued and appreciated. This is especially apparent at home, and Jack makes loyal and devoted partners and parents. He respects hierarchy, and does his best to position himself with some authority, at home and at work, which allows him to keep things clear, stable and organized for everyone.
Supportive and outgoing, Jack can always be spotted at a party – he's the one finding time to chat and laugh with everyone! But his devotion goes further than just breezing through because they have to. Jack truly enjoys hearing about his friends' relationships and activities, remembering little details and always standing ready to talk things out with warmth and sensitivity. If things aren't going right, or there's tension in the room, Jack picks up on it and to tries to restore harmony and stability to the group.
Being pretty conflict-averse, Jack spends a lot of his energy establishing social order, and prefer plans and organized events to open-ended activities or spontaneous get-togethers. He puts a lot of effort into the activities he's arranged, and it's easy for his feelings to be hurt if his ideas are rejected, or if people just aren't interested. Again, it's important for him to remember that everyone is coming from a different place, and that disinterest isn't a comment about him or the activity he's organized – it's just not their thing.
Coming to terms with his sensitivity is jack's biggest challenge – people are going to disagree and they're going to criticize, and while it hurts, it's just a part of life. The best thing for Jack to do is to do what he does best: be a role model, take care of what he has the power to take care of, and enjoy that so many people do appreciate the efforts he makes.

It was a day like any other. Birds sang songs just outside your courtyard; crickets chirped gleefully as they parted with the good night; even the cat, who would, every morning, sit vigil at your door, awaiting breakfast... and yet, something about this morning felt different... perhaps it was the slight change in weather that had you worried, or perhaps it was the non-native Tawny Owl, clinging to the top of your wooden fence, with a letter clenched in its beak.
"How unusual," thought you as you slid on your slippers, opening the door to your backyard and gently closing it, careful not to wake up your relatives, who were still sleeping up in their bedrooms.
You tiptoed towards the owl, toes wet from the morning dew that attached itself to the grass, and slippers completely soiled in dirty water.
As you got closer and closer to the outlandish creature, you became more confident; that looming presence is what seemed to have startled it, as it spread its wings, wobbling on the unstable fence and dropping the letter in a pool of mud that collected itself in the crook of the earth.
You watched the owl lift itself on its glorious feathers, and, with a mighty force, draw itself onto the grey rooftop of your home.
Slowly and hesitantly, still wary of the gentle giant that sat and stared at you narrowly, you turned your attention to the sullied mail that lay, almost sinking, in a puddle. As you gazed upon the paper, you could make out a few messily-typed characters. Looking closely, you were able to make out your name and address.
"A letter?" you whispered. "For me?"
You couldn't believe it, for you've never gotten a letter in your life!
Becoming engulfed with curiosity, you plunged your hands into the water, grabbing onto the letter and shaking it in an attempt to dry it.
There it was; it, in your hand, was an utmost unusual letter.
After gazing upon the characters of your name, you turn the letter over. On the back, there is a red, wax seal with a lion, snake, badger and eagle encircling a H.
You glide your fingers over the seal before eagerly tearing off the envelope.
As you hold the paper envelope between your fingers, you open the letter, containing a few pages, and begin to read...HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Chief Attendant of Witchcraft ProvisionsDays had passed after you read the letter. You had gathered all of the essential materials for the coming school year, and were now staring at the strange ticket in your hand. Even after you flipped it over and inspected it over and over, you couldn't wrap your head around the idea of Platform 9 3/4.
Whatever; it's not like you couldn't figure it out, right?
Standing at platform 9, ticket tightly clenched between your fingers, you repeatedly looked around, even asking the attendants about the mysterious station.
"Is this a joke? Are you out of your mind?" they would all scoff, assuming you were playing a harmless, childish prank. You glanced at the watch on your left wrist and gasped; you were almost late!
Giving a groan of frustration, you gently hit your cart, moving it forward a little bit. In a more angry manner, you pushed it violently, and with amazing speed, it headed towards a loud collision with the wall that operated platform 9 and platform 10. But instead, to your surprise, it disappeared within the bricks.
Confused, and thinking you were imagining things, you ran towards the barrier, gently and frightful placing your hand on it, feeling the solid structure.
You shook your head vigorously in an attempt to regain your sanity.
How odd was all this?
However, the inexplicable disappearance of your cart had to have some logical reasoning.
In the spur of the moment, you decided to mimic what had just happened in front of you.
You walked further away from the wall, then turned and glared at it fearfully.
"What if this doesn't work at all?" you thought remorsefully, but knew, that there was no turning back. With full speed, you leaped from your spot and ran towards the wall. To your surprise, instead of crashing into it with a painful outcome, you ended up on the other side of it; one you didn't see before.
And there was your cart!
Unable to process this, you simply ignored the idea of how strange this was, and grasped the handle.
You heard the last call for the passengers on the train, and ran in, unsure if this was even the train you were supposed to board.
As you sat on the train in your cabin, staring outside your window at all the beautiful scenery, you heard commotion just outside of your door. In less than the length of a gasp, a young woman fell into your petite room, followed by others who toppled over her.
With giggles, snorts, and screeches coming from the bunch of 10-or-so boys and girls, the girl at the bottom of the pile opened her blue eyes to met your own.
With a wide and bright smile on her face, she laughed out a greeting.
"H-Hello," the young, curly-haired blonde sputtered, laughs interrupting her words and causing her to stutter. "Oh, my *!" she screamed as one of the young men poked her sides, followed swiftly by everyone else.
"Stop! Stop!" she yelled playfully after pulling her friends' arms away from herself.
With a few other conspicuous sounds emitting from the bunch, the girl stood up, towering over you completely. "I'm- chill, Jefferey-" she shot, Jefferey, by the looks of it, a playful glare. She looked back to you and a kind smile spread over her face. "Oh! I've never seen you before! A New-comer?"
She glanced over to her friends once more.
"Fresh meat," she whispered, giggles coming from the bunch behind her.
"Hi! Sorry, did we disturb you?" asked the tall woman, placing her hands on her hips and swaying from side to side.
You gave a curt nod, a little annoyed by the loud teenagers. The girl looked surprised for a moment, but then made her way over to you and sat by your side.
"Sorry about that... we're, erm," she paused to catch her breath. "A little excited, you can say... I'm Wilhelmina; you can call me Willem," she grinned, her smile reaching each ear. "And who are you, kid?" she studied you, appearing genuinely curious to find out more about you. You examined all of the odd teenagers' faces, some looking excited and some annoyed, before speaking up in an unsure and quiet voice.
"I'm..."
"Well, it's very nice to meet you," says Willem, giving you a polite nod, signaling she understood. "Before you arrive, you should know that we have a few keys, hm?"First and foremost, the Head boys and girls; these are students appointed to control the Prefects - we'll get to that in a second - and complete duties for the school... they have the power to give or take away house points, and the fact that they are biased has no punishment. They have to be in their final - so, seventh - year at Hogwarts.
"Okay... Prefects, right? A prefect is a student who has been given extra authority and responsibilities by the Head of House, Headteacher. One male and one female student are chosen from each house in their fifth year to act as prefects, and would continue to be prefects in their sixth and seventh years until they leave school. There are approximately six prefects per house, and twenty-four prefects in the whole school at one time.
"Also, and don't forget this one, you must know that you have the Trace put on you; it's basically a charm, set on anyone under 17 years of age by the head of the school, to know of your activities or if you do magic outside of school.
"Don't go to the Restricted Section of the Library; don't roam the school after bed time - although, who actually follows that rule?" Willem paused, placing her fingers on her temples.
"You know what? Just do whatever; there are way too many rules to know, anyway."
"All in all," spoke Willem with a hushed voice. "You'll have a great time at Hogwarts- I promise, there isn't a dull moment in sight, the minute you set your foot in its walls."
You hear a masculine voice call Willem's name in the distance; she looks back at her friends, who were all giving short but sweet goodbyes. She moves her gaze to you, giving you yet another smile.
"I have to go now, but I'll see you soon, yeah? If you have a hard time making friends, find me; I'm in Hufflepuff, and I'll help you in any way I can."
Before you could respond, she was gone, her short, dark, blonde curls bouncing with each step she took.CHARACTERS:
Congratulations! I’m Prefect Gabriel Truman, and I’m delighted to welcome you to HUFFLEPUFF HOUSE. Our emblem is the badger, an animal that is often underestimated, because it lives quietly until attacked, but which, when provoked, can fight off animals much larger than itself, including wolves. Our house colours are yellow and black, and our common room lies one floor below the ground, on the same corridor as the kitchens.
Now, there are a few things you should know about Hufflepuff house. First of all, let’s deal with a perennial myth about the place, which is that we’re the least clever house. WRONG. Hufflepuff is certainly the least boastful house, but we’ve produced just as many brilliant witches and wizards as any other. Want proof? Look up Grogan Stump, one of the most popular Ministers for Magic of all time. He was a Hufflepuff – as were the successful Ministers Artemesia Lufkin and Dugald McPhail. Then there’s the world authority on magical creatures, Newt Scamander; Bridget Wenlock, the famous thirteenth-century Arithmancer who first discovered the magical properties of the number seven, and Hengist of Woodcroft, who founded the all-wizarding village of Hogsmeade, which lies very near Hogwarts School. Hufflepuffs all.
So, as you can see, we’ve produced more than our fair share of powerful, brilliant and daring witches and wizards, but, just because we don’t shout about it, we don’t get the credit we deserve. Ravenclaws, in particular, assume that any outstanding achiever must have come from their house. I got into big trouble during my third year for duelling a Ravenclaw prefect who insisted that Bridget Wenlock had come from his house, not mine. I should have got a week of detentions, but Professor Sprout let me off with a warning and a box of coconut ice.
Hufflepuffs are trustworthy and loyal. We don’t shoot our mouths off, but cross us at your peril; like our emblem, the badger, we will protect ourselves, our friends and our families against all-comers. Nobody intimidates us.
However, it’s true that Hufflepuff is a bit lacking in one area. We’ve produced the fewest Dark wizards of any house in this school. Of course, you’d expect Slytherin to churn out evil-doers, seeing as they’ve never heard of fair play and prefer cheating over hard work any day, but even Gryffindor (the house we get on best with) has produced a few dodgy characters.
What else do you need to know? Oh yes, the entrance to the common room is concealed in a stack of large barrels in a nook on the right hand side of the kitchen corridor. Tap the barrel two from the bottom, middle of the second row, in the rhythm of ‘Helga Hufflepuff’, and the lid will swing open. We are the only house at Hogwarts that also has a repelling device for would-be intruders. If the wrong lid is tapped, or if the rhythm of the tapping is wrong, the illegal entrant is doused in vinegar.
You will hear other houses boast of their security arrangements, but it so happens that in more than a thousand years, the Hufflepuff common room and dormitories have never been seen by outsiders. Like badgers, we know exactly how to lie low – and how to defend ourselves.
Once you’ve opened the barrel, crawl inside and along the passageway behind it, and you will emerge into the cosiest common room of them all. It is round and earthy and low-ceilinged; it always feels sunny, and its circular windows have a view of rippling grass and dandelions.
There is a lot of burnished copper about the place, and many plants, which either hang from the ceiling or sit on the windowsills. Our Head of house, Professor Pomona Sprout, is Head of Herbology, and she brings the most interesting specimens (some of which dance and talk) to decorate our room – one reason why Hufflepuffs are often very good at Herbology. Our overstuffed sofas and chairs are upholstered in yellow and black, and our dormitories are reached through round doors in the walls of the common room. Copper lamps cast a warm light over our four-posters, all of which are covered in patchwork quilts, and copper bed warmers hang on the walls, should you have cold feet.
Our house ghost is the friendliest of them all: the Fat Friar. You’ll recognise him easily enough; he’s plump and wears monk’s robes, and he’s very helpful if you get lost or are in any kind of trouble.
I think that’s nearly everything. I must say, I hope some of you are good Quidditch players. Hufflepuff hasn’t done as well as I’d like in the Quidditch tournament lately.
You should sleep comfortably. We’re protected from storms and wind down in our dormitories; we never have the disturbed nights those in the towers sometimes experience.
And once again: congratulations on becoming a member of the friendliest, most decent and most tenacious house of them all.

"I’m Prefect Robert Hilliard, and I’m delighted to welcome you to RAVENCLAW HOUSE. Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot climb; our house colors are blue and bronze, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker. The arched windows set into the walls of our circular common room look down at the school grounds: the lake, the Forbidden Forest, the Quidditch pitch and the Herbology gardens. No other house in the school has such stunning views.
"Without wishing to boast, this is the house where the cleverest witches and wizards live. Our founder, Rowena Ravenclaw, prized learning above all else – and so do we. Unlike the other houses, who all have concealed entrances to their common rooms, we don’t need one. The door to our common room lies at the top of a tall, winding staircase. It has no handle, but an enchanted bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. When you rap on the door, this knocker will ask you a question, and if you can answer it correctly, you are allowed in. This simple barrier has kept out everyone but Ravenclaws for nearly a thousand years.
"Some first-years are scared by having to answer the eagle’s questions, but don’t worry. Ravenclaws learn quickly, and you’ll soon enjoy the challenges the door sets. It’s not unusual to find twenty people standing outside the common room door, all trying to work out the answer to the day’s question together. This is a great way to meet fellow Ravenclaws from other years, and to learn from them – although it is a bit annoying if you’ve forgotten your Quidditch robes and need to get in and out in a hurry. In fact, I’d advise you to triple-check your bag for everything you need before leaving Ravenclaw Tower.
"Another cool thing about Ravenclaw is that our people are the most individual – some might even call them eccentrics. But geniuses are often out of step with ordinary folk, and unlike some other houses we could mention, we think you’ve got the right to wear what you like, believe what you want, and say what you feel. We aren’t put off by people who march to a different tune; on the contrary, we value them!
"Speaking of eccentrics, you’ll like our Head of house, Professor Filius Flitwick. People often underestimate him, because he’s really tiny (we think he’s part elf, but we’ve never been rude enough to ask) and he’s got a squeaky voice, but he’s the best and most knowledgeable Charms master alive in the world today. His office door is always open to any Ravenclaw with a problem, and if you’re in a real state he’ll get out these delicious little cupcakes he keeps in a tin in his desk drawer and make them do a little dance for you. In fact, it’s worth pretending you’re in a real state just to see them jive.
"Ravenclaw house has an illustrious history. Most of the greatest wizarding inventors and innovators were in our house, including Perpetua Fancourt, the inventor of the lunascope, Laverne de Montmorency, a great pioneer of love potions, and Ignatia Wildsmith, the inventor of Floo powder. Famous Ravenclaw Ministers for Magic include Millicent Bagnold, who was in power on the night that Harry Potter survived the Dark Lord’s curse, and defended the wizarding celebrations all over Britain with the words, ‘I assert our inalienable right to party.' There was also Minister Lorcan McLaird, who was a quite brilliant wizard, but preferred to communicate by puffing smoke out of the end of his wand. Well, I did say we produce eccentrics. In fact, we are also the house that gave the wizarding world Uric the Oddball, who used a jellyfish for a hat. He’s the punch line of a lot of wizarding jokes.
"As for our relationship with the other three houses: well, you’ve probably heard about the Slytherins. They’re not all bad, but you’d do well to be on your guard until you know them well. They’ve got a long house tradition of doing whatever it takes to win – so watch out, especially in Quidditch matches and exams.
"The Gryffindors are OK. If I had a criticism, I’d say Gryffindors tend to be show-offs. They’re also much less tolerant than we are of people who are different; in fact, they’ve been known to make jokes about Ravenclaws who have developed an interest in levitation, or the possible magical uses of troll bogies, or ovomancy, which (as you probably know) is a method of divination using eggs. Gryffindors haven’t got our intellectual curiosity, whereas we’ve got no problem if you want to spend your days and nights cracking eggs in a corner of the common room and writing down your predictions according to the way the yolks fall. In fact, you’ll probably find a few people to help you.
"As for the Hufflepuffs, well, nobody could say they’re not nice people. In fact, they’re some of the nicest people in the school. Let’s just say you needn’t worry too much about them when it comes to competition at exam time.
"I think that’s nearly everything. Oh yes, our house ghost is the Grey Lady. The rest of the school thinks she never speaks, but she’ll talk to Ravenclaws. She’s particularly useful if you’re lost, or you’ve mislaid something.
"I’m sure you’ll have a good night. Our dormitories are in turrets off the main tower; our four-poster beds are covered in sky blue silk eiderdowns and the sound of the wind whistling around the windows is very relaxing.
"And once again: well done on becoming a member of the cleverest, quirkiest and most interesting house at Hogwarts."

"Congratulations! I’m Prefect Gemma Farley, and I’m delighted to welcome you to SLYTHERIN HOUSE. Our emblem is the serpent, the wisest of creatures; our house colours are emerald green and silver, and our common room lies behind a concealed entrance down in the dungeons. As you’ll see, its windows look out into the depths of the Hogwarts lake. We often see the giant squid swooshing by – and sometimes more interesting creatures. We like to feel that our hangout has the aura of a mysterious, underwater shipwreck.
Now, there are a few things you should know about Slytherin – and a few you should forget.
Firstly, let’s dispel a few myths. You might have heard rumours about Slytherin house – that we’re all into the Dark Arts, and will only talk to you if your great-grandfather was a famous wizard, and rubbish like that. Well, you don’t want to believe everything you hear from competing houses. I’m not denying that we’ve produced our share of Dark wizards, but so have the other three houses – they just don’t like admitting it. And yes, we have traditionally tended to take students who come from long lines of witches and wizards, but nowadays you’ll find plenty of people in Slytherin house who have at least one Muggle parent.
Here’s a little-known fact that the other three houses don’t bring up much: Merlin was a Slytherin. Yes, Merlin himself, the most famous wizard in history! He learned all he knew in this very house! Do you want to follow in the footsteps of Merlin? Or would you rather sit at the old desk of that illustrious ex-Hufflepuff, Eglantine Puffett, inventor of the Self-Soaping Dishcloth?
I didn’t think so.
But that’s enough about what we’re not. Let’s talk about what we are, which is the coolest and edgiest house in this school. We play to win, because we care about the honour and traditions of Slytherin.
We also get respect from our fellow students. Yes, some of that respect might be tinged with fear, because of our Dark reputation, but you know what? It can be fun, having a reputation for walking on the wild side. Chuck out a few hints that you’ve got access to a whole library of curses, and see whether anyone feels like nicking your pencil case.
But we’re not bad people. We’re like our emblem, the snake: sleek, powerful, and frequently misunderstood.
For instance, we Slytherins look after our own – which is more than you can say for Ravenclaw. Apart from being the biggest bunch of swots you ever met, Ravenclaws are famous for clambering over each other to get good marks, whereas we Slytherins are brothers. The corridors of Hogwarts can throw up surprises for the unwary, and you’ll be glad you’ve got the Serpents on your side as you move around the school. As far as we’re concerned, once you’ve become a snake, you’re one of ours – one of the elite.
Because you know what Salazar Slytherin looked for in his chosen students? The seeds of greatness. You’ve been chosen by this house because you’ve got the potential to be great, in the true sense of the word. All right, you might see a couple of people hanging around the common room whom you might not think are destined for anything special. Well, keep that to yourself. If the Sorting Hat put them in here, there’s something great about them, and don’t you forget it.
And talking of people who aren’t destined for greatness, I haven’t mentioned the Gryffindors. Now, a lot of people say that Slytherins and Gryffindors represent two sides of the same coin. Personally, I think Gryffindors are nothing more than wannabe Slytherins. Mind you, some people say that Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor prized the same kinds of students, so perhaps we are more similar than we like to think. But that doesn’t mean that we cosy up with Gryffindors. They like beating us only slightly less than we like beating them.
A few more things you might need to know: our house ghost is the Bloody Baron. If you get on the right side of him he’ll sometimes agree to frighten people for you. Just don’t ask him how he got bloodstained; he doesn’t like it.
The password to the common room changes every fortnight. Keep an eye on the noticeboard. Never bring anyone from another house into our common room or tell them our password. No outsider has entered it for more than seven centuries.
Well, I think that’s all for now. I’m sure you’ll like our dormitories. We sleep in ancient four-posters with green silk hangings, and bedspreads embroidered with silver thread. Medieval tapestries depicting the adventures of famous Slytherins cover the walls, and silver lanterns hang from the ceilings. You’ll sleep well; it’s very soothing, listening to the lake water lapping against the windows at night."

"Congratulations! I’m Prefect Percy Weasley, and I’m delighted to welcome you to GRYFFINDOR HOUSE. Our emblem is the lion, the bravest of all creatures; our house colors are scarlet and gold, and our common room lies up in Gryffindor Tower.
"Now, there are a few things you should know about Gryffindor house, as well. Almost everyone says that we are arrogant and too brave for our own good, but we're not. I admit, we've produced our fair share of Dark Wizards and Witches, but there are many other members you should notice. How about Albus Dumbledore? He was the best headmaster Hogwarts ever had. And don't forget about our founder, Godric Gryffindor, who was the bravest of all the Hogwarts Founders.
"And what else do you need to know? Oh yes, the entrance to the common room is concealed under the portrait of the Fat Lady, on the lavish Gryffindor Landing. You must present the Fat Lady with the correct password of the week, otherwise you will have to wait the day for another student to come by and pass you the code. You will hear other houses boast of their security arrangements and concealed ways, such as the Hufflepuff barrels, the concealed Slytherin door, and the Ravenclaw questions, but the Fat lady is the best guardian we've ever had, unlike the pompous Sir Cadogan.
"Once you’ve arrived inside Gryffindor Tower, come inside and be welcomed by the roaring fire, stuffed armchairs, and the great view we have from our windows. Our dormitories are reached by climbing the winding mahogany staircase, decorated with crimson and gold. As I said, there's plenty of gold around the tower. Our four-posters are covered with thick scarlet blankets (we have quite windy nights up in the towers) and are embroidered with gold. Gold chandeliers cast warm glows all around.
"I hope you are a good Quidditch player. We Gryffindors are famous for winning the Hogwarts Quidditch Cup four times in a row, beating Slytherin's record of three cups.
"Our house ghost is Nearly Headless Nick. He is the friendliest ghost in Hogwarts (except for the Fat Friar) and he'll help you whenever you need him. He's also quite fascinating.
"I won’t keep you long, as all you need to do to find out more about your house (and I don't think you need to...) is to follow Harry Potter and his friends as I lead them up to their dormitories. Enjoy your time at Hogwarts – but how could you fail to? You’ve become part of the best house in the school."

INTRODUCTION As the sun peered out from behind the voluminous grassland, it greeted all cats in FieldClan with it's bright eye that aluminated the clearing. You sat stone-still, with your thin tail wrapped gently around your paws, just outside of your den; just the same as you did every sunrise. With the exception of a few paw-licks, ear-swipes, and chest-licks, you would stay exceptionally motionless -- this process was routine. In the midst of your grooming session, you would make eye contact with other cats that emerged from their dens to greet the rising sun.You were more restless than usual, today.
Perhaps it's the slight shift in temperature, you thought to yourself. No matter what it had been, you wanted to do more than simply sit like a stone sentinel; it wasn't as if you had the responsibility of a dawn vigil. The clan was slowly stirring to life, and you with it. Your ears flickered, as if spurred to action by the gentle winds, and your whiskers were excited, brushing the tantalizing zephyrs that swept in the smells of vivid savanna life into the FieldClan camp.
TERRITORY FieldClan's territories consist of large terrains of grasses, flowers and herbs. In the winter, its vegetation is dull and lifeless because of the cold and cruel temperature, making it very hard to find and maintain prey, warmth and shelter, causing a strong decrease in population this time of year. In spring, the grass begins growing rapidly and flowers start to bloom, because the soil in grasslands is rich in nutrients and is the perfect place for the growth of plant life.
The division of grassland, in which FieldClan is located, is a tropical grassland, called a savanna. FieldClan cats can survive well in hot and dry climates, a result of generations upon generations of cats living in the short-grass savanna, which favors such weather.
CULTURE The FieldClan society has always been characterized by hardy and rugged living, due to their harsh, dry climate. As a result they are staunch pragmatists - loyally logical thinkers - and try to never shy from killing if it will protect the future of their clan, though their reputation as kind-hearted individuals often betrays their violent instinct. All cats, regardless of gender or rank, are expected to pull their own weight, and simultaneously aid those in need. Regardless of their clan affiliations, FieldClan cats prize tradition over all other things in life — first to bring honor to their clan and secondly bringing honor to the self and to their sense of self-worth as an individual.

[fancypost bgcolor=; border: 0px; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; width: 500px;]
1. WHAT ARE SOME POSITIVE & NEGATIVE TRAITS?
--- How do they effect how he acts around and treats others?
--- Be sure not to just mention the traits, but explain them.
--- Are these actually positive/negative traits they possess or is it a misconception?2. HOW DO THEY INTERACT WITH OTHERS?
--- His friends? Family? Significant others? Enemies?
--- Generally speaking, most people have different traits that they show to different people. I don't act the same way around my parents that I do around my friends, boyfriend, and the people I don't like.
--- Are some of their regular traits highlighted more around certain people?
--- Be sure to stress if they have contradicting traits. Are they loud and obnoxious around their friends, but soft and sweet towards that special someone?
--- Remember, the more you describe their actions around other people, the easier it will to have a network of relationships for your character. You want your character to have a mate but can't explain what kind of lover they'd be because you've never thought about it before? Do it now and it will be easier later on.3. HOW DO THEY WORK WITH OTHERS?
--- Are they a team player? Or would they rather work by themselves?
--- Do they often make good first impressions? Or do other characters feel sour towards them from the start?
--- Are there certain traits that make others avoid them? Traits that make others want to be around them more than others? Are they aware of how these traits affect them?4. WHAT ARE THEIR BELIEFS?
--- What religion do they follow? Why do they follow it? Were they raised to believe this, or did something happen to cause them to have faith?
--- What are their values? Their principles? Why do they have them?
--- What's important to them? What are their dreams and goals?
--- How do they feel when their beliefs are challenged by someone else? Do they become defensive? Angry? Or do they ignore the other person all together?
--- Do they have any controversial views? Does this affect the way others treat them? How do they feel about how others treat them? Do they hide the beliefs all together? Or do they flaunt them?5. POWERS, POWERS, AND MORE POWERS
--- Do they have any powers that distinguish them from others?
--- In their minds, are their powers a gift, or a curse?
--- Do they hide them? Or do they take them for granted?6. OTHER QUESTIONS TO KEEP IN MIND
--- How do they deal with anger? Do they blow up? Do they break down and cry? Do they make threats or do they get violent? Or, you know, are they calm and cool?
--- Do they have any [mental disorders] that alter the way they think and act?
--- Do they hold grudges? For how long?
--- Did something in their past change their original personality? What went on in their head to cause them to change their personality completely?
--- Think about their age. Are the traits you've bestowed upon them realistic? You don't just have a genius kit who could outsmart any adult cat in the clan. If they're immature or more mature for their age, be sure to mention it!1. FOCUS ON THE FACE
--- What is the shape of their face? Is it round? Square? Triangular? Remember, different breeds of cats have different face shapes. See [this] for more info!
--- There's a lot of information that you can put about the eyes, including: color [get specific here], shape, size, and whether they're wide or narrow-set. Try to avoid unrealistic colors most of the time, like having a cat without white on their fur having blue eyes, or two different colored eyes. This is rare in nature.
--- What color is their nose? How about the skin that creates their lip? The inside of their ear? Simple details like this can help create a clearer image that distinguishes your character from others. Mentioning stuff like teeth size and whiskers helps, too!
--- Talk about proportions. How big are their ears compared to their head? Do their eyes look out of place because they're a little too big and round? Is their nose microscopic compared to their eyes?
--- Do they have scars or strange marks? How did they get them? This would be a good time to reference to their history, seeing how the reader will get to that eventually and make the connection.
--- Describing the appearance can be a great opportunity to compliment the paragraphs that you wrote about their personality. Talk about how your character feels about their appearance. If they're a naturally confident cat, it wouldn't make sense for them to hate their looks. Know what I mean?2. ALL ABOUT THE LOOKS
--- Approach this with caution--you don't want a full blown Mary Sue on your hand. On a scale of one to ten, how attractive would you say your character is? Are they extremely handsome, or ugly as a bat? If you make them frickin' gorgeous, try to balance it out with a lot of flaws in their personality. But you don't have to listen to me.
--- Are they overweight? Obese? So fat they can't really run or climb a tree? Or are they so underweight that you can see their ribs and every single bone in their body?
--- What about their fur? What color is it? How long is it? Is it rough and puffy, or is it smooth and silky? Does it become tangled easily or by some miracle does it happen to stay perfectly straight and neat? Is their fur longer in one spot than others? Do they shed a lot? How often do they groom their pelt to keep neat and clean? If you need some help with colors, [this] guide/graphic can help!.
--- Do they have any body scars, cuts, or missing patches of fur? How did they get there to begin with?
--- Are they from some twoleg household and still manage to keep a collar or bow attached to them at all times? Do realize that at some point, these items will fall off.
--- Posture. How does the character carry him/herself? Do they slouch as they walk? Or do they stand tall and proud? Is this natural, or is there some reason for it?3. TAKE A LOOK AT THE BODY
--- Think about their body? How big are they? Are they taller and bigger than your average cat? Or do they get stepped on almost everyday because of their small size?
--- What type of body do they have? You can pick and choose from [this] article, or you can describe their own. How long are their legs? Are they stocky and short? Lean and tall? Muscular and just downright big?
--- Proportions once again. Are their paws big for their body? Does their head seem like it doesn't fit? Is it too small or large for their frame? What about their length? Are they super long or super short? Just in the middle?
--- How long is their tail? Is it big and puffy like the rest of their body, or is their tail the only fluffy part about them? Is there certain colors there that aren't on the rest of their body [thinking calico and tortoiseshell and colourpoints]
--- How does their body help them with everyday tasks? Were they built to be a strong warrior? Or were they meant to be the swift hunters of the clan?4. ZOOM IN ON THE LITTLE DETAILS
--- How long are their claws? What color are they? Are they dark and long, or are they short and pinkish like the skin on their nose, ears, and lips?
--- This is something very important that often gets overlooked. How does their voice sound? Is it low and raspy? Does it tend to crack every few syllables? High and bell-like? When someone is reading your bio and then looks at the dialogue in your RP posts, it helps them imagine what the character sounds like.
--- Talk about common facial expressions. Does the look on your character's face keep all the annoying kitties away?1. WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE BIRTH?
--- Who are the parents? Talk about them. Were they a couple that decided to have kittens, or was it an accident? Were the parents even a couple, or was it a mutual agreement or a r.ape?
--- How did their mother feel during her pregnancy? Was she ashamed? Scared? Excited? Why? Was she scared because she wasn't ready to be a mother, or was she scared because she was afraid one of the kittens wouldn't make it?
--- Where are the kittens going to live? How was this decision make? Were the parents from separate clans and one parent was getting half the litter? How would this affect their lives? Would they grow up knowing their siblings and parents?
--- Were there any big events leading up to their birth that would change their original plans? Did their father get killed in a battle or by a badger? Did the mother run away from her clan to go be with the father that was from another clan?2. EARLY KITHOOD AND PERSONALITY-SHAPING EXPERIENCES
--- How did their birth go? Did one of their siblings die during birth? Did their mother die? Or was everything nice and dandy? How did both parents react to the birth? Was the father unaware that the mother had given birth, or was he completely unaware that she was pregnant at all?
--- Their early development. How big were they compared to their siblings? Did they get stepped on? Did they take the role of the big brother/sister? How did their early feelings toward the world develop, and what caused them to feel this way?
--- Usually early on, people develop "favorites". What was their favorite color? Their favorite time of day? Did they develop an interest in a certain activity? Did they develop any dreams, like becoming the leader or medicine cat?
--- How did they feel about becoming an apprentice? Were they excited? Did they watch the apprentices and warriors train together? Or were they less enthusiastic and couldn't wait to grow up, but not do anything for the clan? Make sure it matches their personality!
--- Other major events. Did they fall into a river? Get stuck in a pit for a day until a warrior found them? Usually there are memories kits remember from their childhood, even if they're not that major. Did they get kittencough and had to stay in the medicine cat den for a week?
--- Who were their first friends? Enemies? Crushes? What situations make them become friends or enemies? What qualities did their crush have to make them like them in the first place?3. APPRENTICEHOOD
--- At what age did they get their apprentice ceremony? Was it delayed? Why? For bad behavior? Were they not physically developed enough to learn to hunt and fight? What did it feel like when they were granted their ceremony? Were they excited? Nervous?
--- Who was their mentor? What was their relationship like? Did your character hate their mentor from the start, or were they two peas in a pod? Did your character have a crush on his/her mentor?
--- What was their favorite part of training? Their least? Which area did they develop the most skills in? Hunting? Tracking? Fighting?
--- Were they lazy and always late for their training sessions? Or were they always at the training session area way before it even began, practicing on their own?
--- Did they ever get in trouble during their apprenticeship? Did they have to clean out the bedding in the nursery for the queens or help the elders? What lesson did they learn from this? How did it affect the way they acted in the future?
--- More about friends. Did they continue to be friends with their childhood friends once they became an apprentice? What drove them apart, or what held them together? Did they make any new friends during their apprenticeship?
--- More about lovvve. Did they meet a special someone? Did they become a couple? Did something happen that made them quit having feelings for them? If they did get together, did they have a litter? Get involved with catnip somehow? Think teenagers—they can do stupid things when they're in love; they can get into fights, start drama, etc. It's a time period when you're developing experience in relationships.
--- If you bought them a power, did they discover it during this time period? What did they think of it? Did they never realize they were using it until someone pointed it out? For example, was Examplepaw reading others' minds without realizing and assumed they were actually speaking from their mouth? Did it scare the other feline?4. EARLY ADULT LIFE & MORE MAJOR EXPERIENCES
--- When did they get their warrior ceremony? What was their warrior name? Did they choose it for themselves? How did they feel? Were they excited? Nervous?
--- What were their major duties? Which ones did they excel at? Which ones did they hate more than anything? Did they have to wake up early every morning, or were their duties in the afternoon?
--- Depending on their clan, was it easy for them to get lost in the territory? Did they ever go through tough experiences? For example, did an avalanche chase your character down the mountain if they lived in the Tribe of Many Storms? How did they deal with the temperature and extreme cases of weather?
--- Did they have any relationships during their adulthood? Did they meet that special someone? Was there a lot of drama, or did everything work out just fine? Did they have kittnes? If so, what did they name them? Was their mate from another clan and they had to split the kittens up? Were they a player/serial dater?
--- Did they receive a promotion to an HP? What did they do to earn this? How did they feel when they were promoted? Did it affect any relationships they had?
--- Were they involved in any wars/battles/sticky situations?

- --- Approach this with caution--you don't want a full blown Mary Sue on your hand. On a scale of one to ten, how attractive would you say your character is? Are they extremely handsome, or ugly as a bat? If you make them frickin' gorgeous, try to balance it out with a lot of flaws in their personality. But you don't have to listen to me.
- --- Are they overweight? Obese? So fat they can't really run or climb a tree? Or are they so underweight that you can see their ribs and every single bone in their body?
- --- What about their fur? What color is it? How long is it? Is it rough and puffy, or is it smooth and silky? Does it become tangled easily or by some miracle does it happen to stay perfectly straight and neat? Is their fur longer in one spot than others? Do they shed a lot? How often do they groom their pelt to keep neat and clean? If you need some help with colors, [this] guide/graphic can help!.
- --- Do they have any body scars, cuts, or missing patches of fur? How did they get there to begin with?
- --- Are they from some twoleg household and still manage to keep a collar or bow attached to them at all times? Do realize that at some point, these items will fall off.
- --- Posture. How does the character carry him/herself? Do they slouch as they walk? Or do they stand tall and proud? Is this natural, or is there some reason for it?
- 3. TAKE A LOOK AT THE BODY
- --- Think about their body? How big are they? Are they taller and bigger than your average cat? Or do they get stepped on almost everyday because of their small size?
- --- What type of body do they have? You can pick and choose from [this] article, or you can describe their own. How long are their legs? Are they stocky and short? Lean and tall? Muscular and just downright big?
- --- Proportions once again. Are their paws big for their body? Does their head seem like it doesn't fit? Is it too small or large for their frame? What about their length? Are they super long or super short? Just in the middle?
- --- How long is their tail? Is it big and puffy like the rest of their body, or is their tail the only fluffy part about them? Is there certain colors there that aren't on the rest of their body [thinking calico and tortoiseshell and colourpoints]
- --- How does their body help them with everyday tasks? Were they built to be a strong warrior? Or were they meant to be the swift hunters of the clan?
- 4. ZOOM IN ON THE LITTLE DETAILS
- --- How long are their claws? What color are they? Are they dark and long, or are they short and pinkish like the skin on their nose, ears, and lips?
- --- This is something very important that often gets overlooked. How does their voice sound? Is it low and raspy? Does it tend to crack every few syllables? High and bell-like? When someone is reading your bio and then looks at the dialogue in your RP posts, it helps them imagine what the character sounds like.
- --- Talk about common facial expressions. Does the look on your character's face keep all the annoying kitties away?
- 1. WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE BIRTH?
- --- Who are the parents? Talk about them. Were they a couple that decided to have kittens, or was it an accident? Were the parents even a couple, or was it a mutual agreement or a r.ape?
- --- How did their mother feel during her pregnancy? Was she ashamed? Scared? Excited? Why? Was she scared because she wasn't ready to be a mother, or was she scared because she was afraid one of the kittens wouldn't make it?
- --- Where are the kittens going to live? How was this decision make? Were the parents from separate clans and one parent was getting half the litter? How would this affect their lives? Would they grow up knowing their siblings and parents?
- --- Were there any big events leading up to their birth that would change their original plans? Did their father get killed in a battle or by a badger? Did the mother run away from her clan to go be with the father that was from another clan?
- 2. EARLY KITHOOD AND PERSONALITY-SHAPING EXPERIENCES
- --- How did their birth go? Did one of their siblings die during birth? Did their mother die? Or was everything nice and dandy? How did both parents react to the birth? Was the father unaware that the mother had given birth, or was he completely unaware that she was pregnant at all?
- --- Their early development. How big were they compared to their siblings? Did they get stepped on? Did they take the role of the big brother/sister? How did their early feelings toward the world develop, and what caused them to feel this way?
- --- Usually early on, people develop "favorites". What was their favorite color? Their favorite time of day? Did they develop an interest in a certain activity? Did they develop any dreams, like becoming the leader or medicine cat?
- --- How did they feel about becoming an apprentice? Were they excited? Did they watch the apprentices and warriors train together? Or were they less enthusiastic and couldn't wait to grow up, but not do anything for the clan? Make sure it matches their personality!
- --- Other major events. Did they fall into a river? Get stuck in a pit for a day until a warrior found them? Usually there are memories kits remember from their childhood, even if they're not that major. Did they get kittencough and had to stay in the medicine cat den for a week?
- --- Who were their first friends? Enemies? Crushes? What situations make them become friends or enemies? What qualities did their crush have to make them like them in the first place?
- 3. APPRENTICEHOOD
- --- At what age did they get their apprentice ceremony? Was it delayed? Why? For bad behavior? Were they not physically developed enough to learn to hunt and fight? What did it feel like when they were granted their ceremony? Were they excited? Nervous?
- --- Who was their mentor? What was their relationship like? Did your character hate their mentor from the start, or were they two peas in a pod? Did your character have a crush on his/her mentor?
- --- What was their favorite part of training? Their least? Which area did they develop the most skills in? Hunting? Tracking? Fighting?
- --- Were they lazy and always late for their training sessions? Or were they always at the training session area way before it even began, practicing on their own?
- --- Did they ever get in trouble during their apprenticeship? Did they have to clean out the bedding in the nursery for the queens or help the elders? What lesson did they learn from this? How did it affect the way they acted in the future?
- --- More about friends. Did they continue to be friends with their childhood friends once they became an apprentice? What drove them apart, or what held them together? Did they make any new friends during their apprenticeship?
- --- More about lovvve.
- --- If you bought them a power, did they discover it during this time period? What did they think of it? Did they never realize they were using it until someone pointed it out? For example, was Examplepaw reading others' minds without realizing and assumed they were actually speaking from their mouth? Did it scare the other feline?
- 4. EARLY ADULT LIFE & MORE MAJOR EXPERIENCES
- --- When did they get their warrior ceremony? What was their warrior name? Did they choose it for themselves? How did they feel? Were they excited? Nervous?
- --- What were their major duties? Which ones did they excel at? Which ones did they hate more than anything? Did they have to wake up early every morning, or were their duties in the afternoon?
- --- Depending on their clan, was it easy for them to get lost in the territory? Did they ever go through tough experiences? For example, did an avalanche chase your character down the mountain if they lived in the Tribe of Many Storms? How did they deal with the temperature and extreme cases of weather?
- --- Did they have any relationships during their adulthood? Did they meet that special someone? Was there a lot of drama, or did everything work out just fine? Did they have kittnes? If so, what did they name them? Was their mate from another clan and they had to split the kittens up? Were they a player/serial dater?
- --- Did they receive a promotion to an HP? What did they do to earn this? How did they feel when they were promoted? Did it affect any relationships they had?
- --- Were they involved in any wars/battles/sticky situations?
[/fancypost][fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 300px;]PERSONALITY » People like Jack are, for lack of a better word, popular.
