NettleKit
NettleKit blinked. 'I'm not clan leader. You can do what you like.' He mewed, setting of for the fresh kill pile, expecting the two smaller kits to follow him.
His nose led him reliably to the food and he selected a small mouse, figuring if the other two wanted to share it would make the perfect size to feed the lot of them. He couldn't help over hearing his sister picking a fight with not just CourgarKit anymore, but PetalStorm and another warrior, too. He narrowed his eyes in frustration and took an angry bite of his food, his sister's behaviour souring his mood.
LarkKit | GingerPaw | SwirlPaw
CourgarKit successfully latched onto LarkKit's back, who let out a yowl of surprise and then tried to roll onto her back to pin the other kit beneath her. But the weight lifted from her back without prompting and she looked around in confusion.
"Keep your fighting in the nursery. I don't want to have to step over your tussling. Your causing a commotion.' SmokeShade said.
Petal Storm joined them, and also reprimanded their behaviour. LarkKit couldn't help flare of indignation.
'Don't tell me what my own mother would think!' LarkKit couldn't help retorting, 'She's not here. Someone who isn't here can't tell you what they think!' She added, her thoughts sliding to her father, CloudFur. Then, at SmokeShade's comment,
'That goes to you too.' SmokeShade said, 'Do you understand?'
LarkKit felt her anger growing beyond control. She fixed her lilac eyes on him, 'I'm too quick, I'd never let such an ugly injury befall me. What you need to understand is that this is none of your business! You're not even EclipseClan, you're a filthy MoonClanner! You have no place here, none! SunClan and MoonClan are constantly dragging us down, getting our brothers and sisters and parents killed, you have no right to be here, and no right to tell me what I can and can't do!' LarkKit spat at the ground by SmokeShade's feet, unaware someone else had overheard her comments.
An orange blur slammed into LarkKit. Though GingerPaw was an apprentice and LarkKit not, they were about the same sized and shared the same long limbed height. It didn't matter, though, training had toned GingerPaw's muscles and LarkKit could only squirm beneath Gingerpaw's sheathed claws as she pinned the black cat to the ground. GingerPaw's fiery tail lashed back and forth. LarkKit looked defiantly up at the apprentice. 'What?' She hissed. GingerPaw was silent, as what she'd planned on saying, which had been a defence of other planner's ending up in eclipseclan, faded. It could give her away. Instead, she settled on something else, her blue eyes not leaving LarkKit's purple.
'You're lucky there are other cats around.' She hissed, baring her teeth. LarkKit went silent at that.
'GingerPaw!' Swirlpaw squeaked as she, MaskPaw and ShatterStone re-entered camp, the decorative feather in her mouth falling to the floor, 'What are you doing?'
GhostStar's vision
A small white she-cat with dazzling green eyes stepped forwards towards GhostStar. It was WhitePaw, CloudFur and RavenWing's deceased daughter.
'With this life I give you truth. It is a gift few receive from us. Use it well.' She touched her nose to GhostStar. Almost at once the leader was transported to a vast open more. On the floor at his feet, amongst the harmless grass, was something different. The stem of a flower. It swayed as the grass did, from side to side, almost indistinguishable from it. However, it was clear a flower bud used to sit atop it, and it wasn't a blade of grass after all.
Looking up the clouds in the sky seemed to have taken on an odd shape. Four legged creatures floated across the horizon and past the sun. They looked like sheep, perhaps. But one of them was different, one of them, though of a similar size and appearance, had a menacing haze of light around it. As the cloud moved towards another of the clouds it's mouth opened and sharp teeth began to creep out of its jaws and towards the unsuspecting sheep.
WhitePaw's voice echoed in GhostStar's head. 'Beware the Wolf in Sheep's clothing. Beware the Snake amongst the Pigeons.'
GhostStar was back in the expanse of stars, WhitePaw stepping away from him. 'That was so much fun!' She squeaked, giving a little jump, 'I hope I get to do that again!' Then, stuttered, 'Not that i'm wishing you die, or anything, it's just-'
'WhitePaw.' The brown, kinked fur tom ushered her away and the cat disappeared back into the starlight. The only two remaining where GhostStar and the brown tom.
Only now did GhostStar recognise him as Kinkedfur.
'Tell him I'm sorry.' KinkedFur sighed, 'I left him when he had no one else. I left him unprepared for his duties.' The stars surrounding them began to wink out one by one, darkness filling the space. KinkedFur took a pace towards GhostStar, 'With this life, with your final life, I give you solitude. Give it the respect it deserves. Fear it. Fight it. And tell him... tell him...' KinkedFur pressed his nose to GhostStar's temple before he had a chance to ask any questions. A feeling a harsh pain and isolation tore through GhostStar. Among the pain, as the leader began to return to the waking world, he heard KinkedFur's voice one last time. 'Tell him he must remember...'
FeatherPool was crouched by GhostStar,
'Are you okay?' He asked, eyes wide, 'That did not look entirely pleasant, I have to admit.' He added, twitching his whiskers in amusement. 'Not to rush you right after direct contact with our ancestors or anything but... I had an omen whilst you were asleep - all the lights on the tree roots shot out in unison. We need to hurry back to camp - something must have happened.'
StoneTuft
StoneTuft shook her head, 'He was still in camp when we left. Though I don't know what he did this morning, I haven't been keeping tabs on him.' She frowned as they neared camp, 'Without a medicine cat apprentice...' She sighed, 'Someone seems to be hitting us where it hurts the most. You're right, it is sick. Who would kill cats like this?' she lashed her stubby tail, her blue eyes narrowing. 'When I find out who did this...' she added, baring her teeth. She began to pick up the scents of Swirlpaw, MaskPaw and ShatterStone as they reached the camp entrance. She gently pushed CloudWhisker off of her shoulder and pulled him into the clearing through the briar tunnel. Some commotion was going on in the clearing. Whatever it was, it would soon be eclipsed by her and BlazeStorm's discovery.
