    FeatherPool

As glad as FeatherPool was to jump down from that rock and leave such a great authority far behind him, as he looked up at GhostFeather, talking to the cats of the clans, he couldn't help a pang of sadness. He supposed now that Ghostfeather was a fully fledged leader he wouldn't be needing FeatherPool as much. featherPool flicked an ear, pushing the thought away. He was sure he could make other friends to spend time with... if he really wanted to.

After GhostFeather finished speaking SpiritStar took a step forward, a white she cat with grey muzzle, paws and tail tip. He turned her green eyes to GhostFeather, a mysterious sparkle to them. "I, and SunClan, are very sad to hear this news, but welcome GhostStar happily as the new leader." She blinked her dazzling green eyes kindly at GhostStar. "As I am sure PlumStar and MoonClan do too," She added, with a pointed look at PlumStar. The old she cat gave a brisk and unconvincing nod of her head. "As for SunClan, we must thank EclipseClan for assisting our Deputy after a minor rock fall on SunClan territory caused a small bit of trouble." SpiritStar dipped her head. She was finished. PlumStar fixed GhostFeather with a harsh stare and FeatherPool's fur fluffed up instinctively. If PlumStar made any sudden moves towards GhostFeather then FeatherPool would be up on that rock and at the cruel leaders throat in seconds. Thankfully PlumStar began her report.

"MoonClan are doing well." PlumStar finished. FeatherPool blinked in surprise. That was quick. He thought curiously to himself. "If that's all...?" PlumStar asked, faking a yawn, "MoonClan have more important things to get to."

RyeWhisker and SmokeJaw hadn't seemed to notice Smokepaw sticking around.

If anyone wants to give this thread another go I've still got the plot stored and here's a recap. Who's in?

The fizzling light hovered just over the moonclan border, over something hidden by the grass. It seemed important Rosepaw take a closer look by the urgent way the blur moved from side to side

    RyeWhisker/Gingerpaw/Swirlpaw:

'and the gathering is over.' the ginger she cat mewed tensely. Ginger paw chose that moment to hurry over to smokepaw and swirlpaw.

'lets leave.' she said urgently, her eyes finally falling on RyeWhisker. Her fur stood on end and she froze, then, nudging swirlpaw harshly, hurried off. Swirlpaw looked after her, then up at RyeWhisker who had this odd look in her eye.

'lets go.' the tom next to RyeWhisker mewed, glaring at the two eclipseclan apprentices. They moved to leave.

    Ravenwing:

'guess that's it...' the queen mewed uncertainly, padding towards the entrance.

Where she paying attention she would have noticed daisystem was watching her closely - he seemed to have overheard her musings during the gathering, about cloudfur still being alive, and has a face that looked like thunder.

    Featherpool:

Feather pool shot towards Ghoststar. 'lets leave, quickly, morning shadows on her way.' he urged, trotting towards the exit. 'what was up with plumstar?' he mused

Hidden amongst the grass, below the blur's location, was a daisy. The head of the daisy had fallen off and lay on the ground, the stem was waving in the breeze. It gave Rosepaw, most oddly, the impression of a snake, rising up, ready to strike. Were it not for the blur it would have been indistinguishable from and hidden amongst the grass.

As if it knew it's job was done, the light disappeared.

'Hey!' a voice called at Rosepaw.

    FeatherPool:

Featherpool twitched his whiskers in amusement, guessing what GhostStar was thinking about. "Yes, we'll go tomorrow. As for what will happen... I can't tell you. It is a secret shared only by leaders." He paused, taking in the scents around them. "A good plan, trying to make amends with Moonclan. Something tells me, however, your efforts may never work. There is only so much appeasing monsters can take." Featherpool glanced around, making sure everyone was out of earshot, as if what he was about to say next was more controversial and secret than what had come before. He lowered his head towards Ghoststar, his ears flat.

"As for morning shadow I uh... may have led her on when I was younger." He admitted. "I... I was trying to force myself to be something I wasn't. It ended up with her being unable to let me go. Though..." Featherpool held back a murrow of amusement, "It seems she'll go for anyone if she's willing to flirt with you." He teased, his tone light to show he didn't mean harm.

    GingerPaw:

Ginger paws pelt bristled, but she did't pull away, her temper was somewhat under control. "Of course it made me uncomfortable." She snapped, "She's -" Ginerpaw glanced around. No one else was in ear shot besides Smokepaw and Swirlpaw, who was limping along their right side. "- cleary my mother." She finished in a harsh whisper. "I'm a sunclanner. A filthy sunclanner. SpiritStar lied to me." She bared her teeth. "I'm glad she's dead."

Swirlpaw didn't know what to think. "Couldn't she be your sister? Or just another ginger cat?" Gingerpaw rolled her eyes.

"Didn't you see her? She has my face, my eyes, my tail, my stupid long, thin, sunclanner like limbs. Starclan, how didn't i realise before. I don't have the thickset build of an eclipseclanner - I've been a fool." She lashed her tail back and forth. "The evidence was always there. I wonder how many people have figured it out..."

    RavenWing:

Ravenwing blinked gratefully. "Its kind of you to think to ask. Yes, the kits will no doubt still be up" she sighed, "Usually I take them for a walk around camp to tired them out but-" she struggled with a yawn. She lost. "Well..." She mewed once the yawn had finished, "Im feeling too tired to do it."

    AppleTooth:

A white and brown tabby tom with brown eyes hurriedly approached Rosepaw. He was flanked by a black she cat and a smaller brown tom whose fur was wild and knotted and eyes were a brilliant blue.

"You shouldn't have done that." The black she cat said, stalking over to Rosepaw, belly low, tail held high. She moved behind the small apprentice, to block her path back to eclipseclan. "You're going to come back with us and explain yourself, child." The white and brown tabby tom seemed to startled at that.

"There's no need for that, Blackjaw." He murmured. BlackJaw let out a small hiss. The white and brown tabby tom looked down at rose paw. "What are you doing on our side of the border?" He asked, peering suspiciously down at her.

(sure, appletooth is the brown and white tabby tom with brown eyes and smokejar is the black she cat)

Appletooth narrowed his eyes. "Sure you weren't trying to steal prey?" He asked. Smokejaw lashed her tail.

'of course she was. Let's teach her a lesson.' her claws flashed out, digging I to the ground. The brown apprentice with bushy fur narrowed his eyes, he seemed just as keen.

'now now, smokejaw. No need for that.' appletooth warned, sounding uncertain. Smokejaw cast him a sideways glance.

    'you don't control me.'

    Appletooth

(Sure! though Ill warn you he's a hard cat to pine after XD good luck rose paw)

If Appletooth noticed the blush, he didn't show it.

"See, Smokejaw? She wasn't stealing." He reasoned. The messy brown furred apprentice narrowed his eyes.

"She's lying." He hissed. Apple tooth cast his brown gaze tiredly around,

"Then where is the prey she stole?" He sighed in frustration.

"She hasn't done it yet, but she was going to." Smoke jaw spat. Apple tooth fixed her with a strong look.

"Do you want to get Eclipseclan on our backs over prey that hasn't even been stolen?" He asked in a hushed voice, "How do you think Plumstar and Maplefang will like that?" he added. That seemed to get Smokejaws attention, who backed off. The apprentice didn't seem convinced.

    "But-" He protested.

"Enough, Bushypaw." Smoke jaw cut across him. She turned her harsh eyes on rose paw. "Get off our land, child. Don't come back if you want to keep that pelt of yours." She warned, then padded away, her tail bristled. Bushy paw followed after her.

Apple tooth fixed Rosepaw with a disapproving and angry gaze. "Maybe next time stay on your side, okay?" He asked, before turning to leave also.

    FeatherPool:

Ghoststar's tail flicked over featherpool's ear, who couldn't help a warm feeling spread through his chest at the action. He smiled and did the same back, giving Ghoststar's ear a small slap.

"To be honest, GhostFeather - uh, star," He corrected himself awkwardly, "I'd rather she bother you than me." Then, act Ghoststar's suggestion that they pawn her off on shatterstone her let out a barely suppressed murrow of amusement. "A match made in starclan, surely." He joked. "I'm sure I can find an omen or too to support the idea." He added conspiratorially.

    Swirlpaw/Gingerpaw

"He's right, Gingerpaw. We don't care." Swirlpaw chimed in helpfully. Gingerpaw looked between the two of them, her face unreadable. She didn't speak.

Silence stretched on as they asked back. By the time the bramble barrier was coming into view Gingerpaw muttered, "Thank you, I appreciate that." Before darting away into the camp and disappearing into the apprentice den. Swirlpaw shrugged as best she could, casting Smokepaw a helpless look.

"Gingerpaw's temperamental at the worst of times. I can't imagine she'll find dealing with this news all that easy." She paused, then, "We could try catching her her favourite food tomorrow morning?" She suggested, her whiskers twitching excitedly, despite her own inability to hunt, given her disability.

    Ravenwing

The queen blinked gratefully at Shatterstone. "Thank you - I feel exhausted after that gathering. And..." she trailed off. "I don't want to answer the kits questions about Cloudfur. If I give them false hope just because I believe he isn't gone then I... I'd be a terrible mother." She explained.

The blur of light reappeared, shimmering in the air. It began to creepy back towards the Eclipseclan camp. Eventually, it neared the bramble barrier.

The majority of Eclipseclan were arriving back from the gathering at this point.

For a second the light seemed to turn into a pair of brilliantly green eyes and surrounding snow white fur. Then, as if it was only imagined, it disappeared.

    FeatherPool:

Featherpool surprised at Ghoststar's question. He felt touched the tom was checking on him. "Thank you." He purred, then "Yes," he admitted, "I feel a world better. Leadership and decision making and... all that... it's just not for me." He let out a tired sigh, "Being a medicine cat with minimal training is hard enough as it is." He paused, then, "Are you alright?"

    SwirlPaw:

Swirlpaw nodded, agreeing. "Great plan, Smokepaw, as usual." She laughed, "We should call you strategist paw." she added. A yawn over came her. "I hope he gets back soon." She said once she'd finished, "I'm tired..." Her legs were shaking all over. She lay down in the hopes they'd recover a little for the short walk back to her bed.

    RavenWing:

Ravenwing blinked gratefully. "You're right. There's nothing wrong with hope." She murmured, then, at his question, "That would be wonderful. I'm sure they'd like that. Especially Nettlekit he can get... a bit lonely at times." She trailed off, padding towards the nursery. "Lark kit? Nettle kit?" She called. Two black blurs of fur raced out of the nursery and barrelled into Ravenwing's legs.

"Mum! Mum!' Lark Kit chimed. Nettle kit was silent, his blind eyes staying upwards at his mother, but his face seemed happy. "Are we doing the walk? Are we doing the walk?" Lark kit pestered.

"Shatterstone is doing the walk tonight," Ravenwing explained, "Mummies too tired - and Shatterstone want to give it a go himself." She added. Lark kit turned her big eyes on shatterstone in amazement.

"Okay!" She squeaked, skittering over to him. Nettle kit followed at an energetic, but comparatively more subdued, pace. He looked at shatterstone seriously.

"You better make up just as good facts a histories." He warned. Ravenwing shot Shatterstone an amused glance, before ducking into the nursery.
