dragonclaw, a she-cat, wakes up from the light shining in on her makeshift nest in the med cat den. forgetting how badly she was hurt in the battle agenst the foxes, she tries to get up, yowling in pain as she falls back down.

the memorie of the fight floods back into her mind.dragonclaw drags herself from the med den to the freshkill pile, ignoring the pain.

shaking with pain, dragonclaw choses a vole for herself."good morning" she rasps to any cat around.

eating the vole in a few famished bites, dragonclaw drags herself to the nursrey to see how the kits are doing."hello, little ones.how are you today?" dragonclaw tries to make herself look normal so she doesnt scare the kits.
