"Looks like I beat you again, Rosecloud" Ivyfeather mewed. She came out from her hiding place underneath the bushes.

"Shadepaw! Just what are you up to now?" Ivyfeather sighed. "Are you sneaking out again?"

The kit opened her eyes into a narrow slit. " Who... who are you?" She whimpered.

"You did that once, and you nearly drowned at the river!" Ivyfeather continued. " As your mentor, I'm ordering you to stay in camp until all the other aprentices are awake." Ivyfeather stalked off.

"Oh, hi Sparrowing" Ivyfeather purred. "Rosecloud and I were just having a little race to see who's the fastest." She puffed out her chest. "Of course, I won."

"Well of course I am" Ivyfeather huffed. "Shadepaw is always getting into trouble if I'm not watching his tail."

"Hey Shadepaw... I didn't mean..." Ivyfeather sighed. "Well, I guess I'd better go and apologize for sounding so harsh." She headed off to the apprentices' den, pausing to mew over her shoulder. "I guess I'll see you later Lightningstrike."

"Just what is going on here?" Ivyfeather raced up. "Intruders!" She hissed, her grey-brown pelt bristling.

"I see that Linxpaw's training is going well" Ivyfeather meowed approvingly, startling the two cats. "She's growing to be an excellent warrior!"

"Calm down Stoneside." Ivyfeather strode up, her fur flat. "They're no threat to us. They're just a couple of apprentices."

"If they really ARE a threat, then we will attack. However, so far these apprentices have not done us any harm-yet." She gave Stoneside a hard stare and went on more forcefully. " You know just as well as I do that if we attack with no reason, that's gonna get us into trouble."

"Look Shadepaw, I'm really sorry for scolding you in public like that" Ivyfeather began. "I know I had embarrassed you by saying that little...incident." She paused to give her chest a couple of licks. " Anyways, I should have known better."

"Yeah, and you's better realize what your gonna get!" Ivyfeather snarled.

"Fine then; do what you like." Ivyfeather growled. "If you stand here all day staring at those apprentices, I don't care!" She turned and stalked away.

"I couldn't agree less" Ivyfeather purred.

"Sure, why not? It'd be fun hunting for the Clan" Ivyfeather replied. "Don't you agree Rosecloud?"

Ivyfeather purred. "Well, I guess I wasn't so different from you when I was an apprentice." She got to her paws. "How about we do some training now?"

"Snowclan?" the kit squeaked. "Is it warm there? Is there food? If I go, who'll take care of me?" The kit sounded very weak and frightened.

"Hey Blueclaws" Ivyfeather mewed casually. "How's your hunting going?"

"Well, I suppose even I'll have to agree with that" Ivyfeather sighed.
