Great! :) So shall we start?
Mary stepped out of her room, for once not accompanied by one of her ladies in waiting. She was looking for Sterling, her dog. A servant had taken him out for her, but had yet to return. She walked down the hallway quickly, her shoes clicking against the stone floors.
-
Pearl nodded understandingly. "Wow, where am I coming from.......... You'd think such a simple question wouldn't be so hard to answer." Her bell-like laugh resounded yet again. "Well, I was Rio from the 90s to two days ago, and before then, I was living in Paris for about three decades. And before that was constant switching between London and Venice during the 60s and 50s. The 40s were a lot of wandering. I think I crossed the Pacific Ocean about twenty to thirty times. The 20s were spent in New, and the 30s were also spent in New York, mostly trying to unsuccessfully find any kind of revival of the 20s I could. I'm sorry. I've been told I talk too much."
OOC: @Sedgethorn, would you be good with a PearlxNicholas thing?
-
She smiled back at him. "You have a good night as well." She studied his retreating back, thinking. She hadn't had a serious relationship with anyone since the 40s. Her mate, as the vampires called them, was drafted, and being the violence-loving fool he had been, had left immediately. The idiot, ironically, was killed, not by an entire army of stake-wielding special agents, but by one lone POW, who desperately stabbed him in the stomach with a tree branch. Imagine the soldier's surprise when his guard crumbled into nothing but dust. Since there was no body, he was labeled as a deserter, and she got a letter asking that the medals he had earned be returned to the closest Recruiters' Office. But as she watched Nicholas walk away from her, she thought about whether she wanted a relationship again. Shaking her head in amusement with herself, she opened the door, and within a half-hour, her room was set up. She looked up Scarlett in the phone book, and showed up at her door wearing her favorite club dress from the 20s. She knocked on the door.
Here's her room:

Here's her dress:

"Hello, Scarlett." She turned her head and looked at Molly. "I don't believe we've met." She extended a delicate, pale hand, with long slim fingers. "I'm Pearl. Pearl Gatsby. Turned in the 20s. Trying to find the eternal party since then." She smiled, and crinkled her button nose. "So we're just waiting for Rose? I thought she was staying here."
-
"Alright." She took the phone, and quickly typed in "Gatsby" along with her number. She took Molly's number and plugged it into her own phone.
-
Pearl looked him up and down while Scarlett chattered. He was handsome. "I just got into town. We're going to that new vamp-were club on Bourbon Street."
-
Pearl checked her watch. It was 8:00. "You're sure she's coming? I texted you that we should go around 7:30." She turned and looked at Conor. "I'm guessing you have to come with us?"
-
"I was born in New York, in the 20s. My mother cheated on her husband with my father. He was killed before I was born. I found out who my real father was when I was 18, and then I got turned. Since then, I've been almost everywhere. I'm looking for the kinds of parties they had in the 20s.... never-ending and fun. I heard your lovely French Quarter fit the bill, so I got myself out of Rio and came here." She backed up a little and almost crashed into Connor's chest. "Whoa. Excuse me," she said, ducking nimbly to avoid his glass.
-
She smiled at him. "It's alright. Thank you." She fell into step with Scarlett, "flanking" her left side.
-
We can just make it like they're meeting for the first time.
Mary stepped outside, and saw Stirling runnin towards the woods. "Stirling!" She started to chase after the dog, which was headed for the woods.
-
"Thank you," Pearl said, walking past. She stepped into the club, where people's sweaty bodies danced wild and free. Pearl laughed with delight. She waded into the crowd and started dancing.
-
Adelaide looked up, color flooding her cheeks. She hated being the center of attention. Everyone was staring at them, a few girls were even openly glaring at her, as if to say, he's mine. Back off. She sighed, and turned to look at the new boy. "Basically, we're trying to get the cells to replicate without nuclei....." She went on, explaining all of it. She paused. "I should probably introduce myself. I'm Adelaide." She extended a pale hand. Her fingers were long and slim, with light blue veins visible just below the surface. Her pulse had quickened a bit at the sight of this boy's face, not that she noticed.
-
She looked up, and grinned, her white canines flashing blue green and red under the strobe lights. "Nicholas! I didn't think this would be your scene. I'm here with Scarlett, Rose, Molly, and this new guy named Connor. Connor's a hybrid I think." The song ended, becoming Pearl's favorite song. Florence sang from the speakers:
[i]Ever since I was a child
I've turned it over in my mind
I sang by that piano
Tore my yellow dress and
Cried and cried and cried......
"So why are you here? Like I said, you don't seem like the club-type."
-
"Ugh!" Mary watched Stirling run into the trees. "I could have caught him!" She turned, and she was startled by the handsome man holding her back. His arms her still around her waist.
-
"Oh, yeah. Here," she said, pulling out her notebook. She opened it and flipped through until she found the right page, and handed it to him. "Can I see your schedule, if you don't mind?"
-
Adelaide looked over the schedule. "That's funny. This is my exact schedule." She looked up at him. "I guess the school forgot to tell me I'm helping you out. The school gives everyone's grades to the parents of the new kid, and they can pick someone to help out their kid. I guess your mum and dad chose me." She slid his schedule across the table, and wrote down the homework in a day planner.

She looked up at him, slightly afraid. Nicholas seemed like a nice guy, and if he was saying Connor was dangerous..... But Molly was ok with him, and she was a guard for the Royals. "Yeah, thanks. I'll go with you," she said quickly.
-
She smiled wistfully. "Yes, they were. My father threw the biggest parties before I was born...... He was hoping my mother would come to them, so he could find her after we got back from the war. She was already married, but I was born anyway. My father was killed because of a misunderstanding, and my mother let her husband think I was his baby. She told me what happened when I turned 18." She took a long sip of her beer. "What about you?"
