Yeah, I know. Bramblesong is deleted now- we need a new deputy!

Squirrelkit leaned against Hoppaw, revealing in the warmth and safety she felt. This is what it's like to have a mate. She turned slightly and rested her head on his back before closing her eyes and allowing herself to drop into a sweet, Hoppaw-filled dream.

    ((Okay!))

Harepaw nodded, something in his mentor's voice making him confused. He couldn't think straight, and dismissed it almost t once. Medicine cats can't have mates- remember? Hareaw swallowed. Oh, StarClan, I seriously haven't got a crush on my own mentor?

Jaystar gave a charming smile. "Goodnight, sweetheart, and sleep well." He waited until he was gone from his sight and turned, padding up to the entrance to the camp. Seating himself on a little flat stone just big enough for him to fit upon, the brown-and-white tom fluffed up his fur and suppressed a shiver. It was a cold night- leaf-bare would soon be approaching. He gazed ahead, his bicolored eyes focused on the darkening tunnel infront of him. Leafbare would bring problems, snow, lack of prey... He brlieved the Clan was strong enough to survive it, but he knew that he must be a model leader to his cats.

Jaystar jumped at the voice, spinning round with his fur fluffed up in surprise and his claws unsheathed. When he saw it was his trusted medicine cat, however, he relaxed and sat back down again, flicking the ground beside him with his tail to indicate for Cedarleaf to sit down. "Don't do that!" he purred loudly. "You almost scared my fur off!" But then his bicolored eyes grew serious. "A little," he admitted. "I mean, we're still so small. The kits will need more fresh-kill to survive and every cat must be able to hunt. The snow won't help, either." He sighed, and his gentle gaze met Cedarleaf's. Was it his imagination, or was there something... different about her? He pushed it away. His relationship with his medicine cat was special, different to Eternalgrace and the kits, and different to the warriors. Not better, exactly; just different. "I just feel like we will all have to work to our utmost. JayClan needs me, but... I'm not sure if I'll be good enough." He dipped his head and once again it was painfully obvious how young he still was.

Foxstar stood tall in front of the StarClan cats, his tail lashing. "You have no right!" he spat. "No right to do this. I love Sunsetfeather; it's unfair to keep us apart."
The cats before him spoke as one. "Every other cat here must wait for their loved ones to join them here. Why should you be any different?
Foxstar had already prepared his answer for this. "I helped them, didn't I? I fought Tigerfang. And I may have broken a few rules in talking to her though dreams, but it wasn't like I did any harm. Please." His voice cracked. "Please let me go back to her. One last time."
He could sense them wavering, and finally, to his emmense relief, the cats meowed, "Very well. One last time. Enjoy."
And then the air was swirling, changing, darkening... And Foxstar was dragged out again into the camp. He padded warily up to Jaystar. His former apprentice- so skilled now, Foxstar noted with pride- gazed straight through him. No cat can see me, Foxstar realised. Then he began looking for Dunsetfeather.

    Poor Windpaw :(

Jaystar moved to one side as the cats ran through and, exchanging a glance with Cedarleaf, bounded after them. He helped move Windpaw to the ground, then picked him up carefully in his strong jaws and carried the grey-black apprentice to the medicine dat's den.

Harepaw had been laying still, trying to work out his own emotions and trying not to at the same time, but he leapt to his paws when his Clan leader came in. Windpaw is part of this prophecy too, and Cloudpaw. They need to be safe- but for what? He sniffed at the apprentice. "You've not broken it," he meowed with his customary calm, "But you have twisted it badly. You need to rest it for a couple of days- don't put a lot- if any- weight on it. You can sleep in here, I'll make you a nest. You're not fit for training just yet." The confused young apprentice had been turned to a confident, skilled medicine cat seemingly instantly. He grabbed some herbs and began chewing them rapidly, deliberately trying not to look at Cedarleaf. He carefully spread them onto Windpaw's injured leg and then wrapped around it with cobwebs to keep them in place. He picked up a stick in the corner off the den and attached that to to the side of the leg with more cobweb, to keep it straight. When he had finished he stepped back with a little pride n his eyes. The leg would be healed in no more than a few days with that dressing.

Jaystar smiled. "You trained Harepaw well. And don't worry- I'm used to being snuck up on. You get that way when you have kits." He winced, suddenly realising that Cedarleaf would never know that. She was a medicine cat, after all. Then he heard her last comment, and froze. "A dream? What about?"

Jaystar listened in silence as his medicine cat related the dream. Poor Harepaw. He nodded slowly. "You said this was quite a recent dream? If he rembers it being so snowy, it`s probably leaf-bare, you`re right." He thought hard. "Cloudpaw, Windpaw, Harepaw? They can`t go alone." His mind was already working, thinking through the possibilities, working out a solution. "They will probably get another sign. We wait for that. Tell no cat, and remind Harepaw to do the same." He smiled ruefully. "If they have to go, they`re going with warriors. I`ll think some more about it, but remember- tell no cat. I`ll find lots of things for the three of them to do together."

I recognise you from somewhere, I'm sure I do... And of course! Just post your form!

Harepaw tingled as Cedarleaf spoke to him. He pushed down his feeling and simply nodded, having no time to say anything as his mentor was already gone. He bent down and sniffed Windpaw's leg. "Settle down here," he advised the apprentice. "I can bring you some poppy seeds to help you sleep, but otherwise you need rest by yourself." He turned around. "All cats, out of the den, please. Windpaw needs rest, and he needs quiet." A sudden thought came to him. "Cloudpaw, you can stay if you like. Keep him company."

    (Accepted!)

Harepaw smiled gratefully at the white she-cat. He was filled with a desperate urge to tell them about his dream, but Jaystar had told him to keep quiet. Hadn't he? The long-limbed tom turned and padded over to his den. "If you need something, wake me," he told Cloudpaw. "Don't go sniffing around the supplies. And if you get tired you can go to sleep here-there's plenty of spare nests."

Please do not advertise your threads here. It is spam, and clogs up the role-play. It can also get us banned. I know you probably didn't know, so it's in, but please don't do it again!
Stonekit will be mentored by a cat of my choosing. I'll post it up on the front post a little before his ceremony, so of you keep checking back, you should know by then. I'll pick a good cat, I promise!

OMG you're back! Yay, I was worried! Well, I think she should be deputy... I mean, if you're going to be active, there's no reason why she shouldn't be deputy again, but it up to you.
Crookedpaw is now a warrior! I named him Crookedcloud. If its okay, could you repost the forms? It'd be a great help. I really should have saved them somewhere when I deleted them. I only did it a couple of days ago ;)

Thanks! That saves me a job ^^
I'll just add that Harepaw is medicine cat apprentice, the three oldest apprentices when you were here- Desertpaw, Honeypaw, Crookedpaw- are all warriors, but Honeypaw has been deleted due to inactivity. Desertrose mentors Cloudpaw, I think? Or was it Windpaw? One of them. Jaystar mentors Hoppaw, and kezetatsu's right- Windpaw hurt his leg and is recovering for a bit in the medicine cat's den. If you have a good read of the new front post, you should be able to ok out most of what's happened- I kept it pretty updated.

Squirrelkit half-opened one eye. She was so tired, so sleepy, lulled by Hoppaw behind her- but she was awake for one last moment. Her heart was full of love for the Tom behind her and she turned, pushing her slim body against his flank, sharing her warmth. She lightly licked his nose, unsure if he was awake. She didn't want to wake him, but then, she was so tired herself...

Tawnyfeather bounded up to her leader. She gave a quick, rushed smile. "Hi, Desertstar," she panted. "Sorry. Shall we go now?" It was hard for her to be this close to Desertstar. She loved him so much, her heart pounded when she so much as looked at him. And now, her breathing was quickening and she was powerless to stop it. Her long, think tail curled over her tawny-coloured back, turned golden by the setting sun.

Is it just me, or is this getting a bit tense?!

Jaystar watched the goings-on with mild amusement and confusion. He loved his son, of course, but it was important not to treat him differently. Besides, it was good to play. He watched them chase; but then it seemed to go a bit wrong. He stood up, then his eyes narrowed when he heard Stonekit's snarl. My son is not weak. He flashed a glance over at Bramblesong. Follow him. Make sure he doesn't get into trouble. I'll take Hoppaw out. He hoped his deputy had understood; he sensed trouble was brewing. Bounding over to Stonekit and Hoppaw, he meowed brightly but with a stern note, "Hoppaw- come on. I'm taking you to practise those hunting techniques today, remember? And Stonekit, you can go patrolling with Bramblesong. It'll be good practise for when you're an apprentice- it's not long, now." He did not mention the play-fight, sensing that Stonekit had not meant to hurt Reedkit, and that with proper training he would lean to master his strength.

Squirrelkit watched from th nursery with narrowed eyes. How DARE he insult my brother? she fumed, but seeing with a flash of pride that Hoppaw was dealing with him, and now her father, she went over to join Reedkit. "How dare he call you weak?" she snarled. "He had no right. At all."

Harepaw woke with a jolt. His eyes snapped open. Getting up, he went past Cloudpaw to sniff at Windpaw's leg. It was doing well, healing quickly. It would be fine in a few days, like he'd predicted. Harepaw felt a warm glow of pride. He liked getting things right, especially with cats he thought he could get along with, like Windpaw or Cloudpaw. He snuck a glance over his shoulder at Cedarleaf, and couldn't look away. No. Stop it. You can't...
