Golly gosh did the same as her brother. She meowed loudly and jumped at Xylander's neck in an attempt to grab hold of it with her tiny legs.
Bark watched Guppy leave the cave. She had a feeling that she wasn't coming back, but ignored it. Guppy could do what she wants; her kits could live without her. -
"Mommy got eaten," Glock concluded. She gave a nod of her head to her father, turned around with her tail high, and trotted away.
Bark sat up when she noticed Xylander. Something must of happened. She slowly stood up and walked up to him. "What's wrong?"
Little did Guppy know that she was being watched. There was a reason why Hide was no where to be seen: he had been hidden. Gasp! That's a good name for Gabe2. -
"She could have went to retrieve Hide or the other lost cat," Bark responded. Not sure why she would bother, though. She never seemed fond of Hide and paid no attention to the albino. "If you are worried, go after her."
The cat did her best to not be seen. It was hard, though, being a black cat against white backdrop. She slowly peered her head around to get a better look. Just what she thought. Guppy was here to play.
"Looking for the mute, huh?" Wolf asked. -
"Well, since you are putting up excuses as to why you are not following after her you must not love her," Bark responded. Everything was straight forward with her. You either did something or you did not. No need for excuses.
"What is it to me? You are looking for my child. The only reason why you'd be looking for him is if you loved him. Seems to me like you have had kits recently. Did he father them?" Wolf chatted. She walked up to Guppy and was visibly scrawny. She has getting more and more gray hairs and just looked nasty. Although she was like that, she could still put up a fight. Being on the verge of starvation can give a surge of energy. -
"Oh, so the truth leads you to allow her to die and leave your kits motherless," Bark responded. She stared at Xylander with her tail switching back and forth. He seemed like he was worried about her, but he wouldn't go after her. Guppy was a good member of the group, too. Guess she is going to be left to die.
"It seems like no one loved him since he was abandoned while still breathing. And you'd be bringing him back in pieces. Hide's dead. As you can see, I am quite scrawny. I had been stalking your camp for quite a while hoping to sneak in and steal food. To my surprise when I was coming back this way, there was fire everywhere and Hide left alone. He was still warm. Nice and fresh. Just the way I like my food. I dragged him away and ate some of him. I couldn't fill myself since a skunk came and chased me away. Surely that skunk must have mostly eaten him by now," Wolf explained, smiling. -
"Oh yes, I am stalling. Of course." Wolf took a few steps towards Guppy and pinned her ears back. She bared her teeth. "Food is getting harder to find, Guppy. I hope you realize that. He is dead and gone. Living as I ripped him open, screaming as I ate him. I am lucky I got to eat as much as I could before some other animal came by to check out the screams. He may have been mute, but oh boy, does he have a beautiful scream. That is the closest I will ever hear of my son's voice."
Bark glanced at the entrance of the cave. It was snowing a bit harder now. "Goodbye, Guppy," she huffed. She headed back over to Speck. -
"The fire was approaching quickly. I didn't want to be burned and waste a meal! I dragged him as far as I could until I noticed the fire dying down." She sat down in front of Guppy and smiled. "But you think he is still alive. I can show you where his blood is. The nice, refreshing scent of blood. He tasted good for a sickly runt. If only it were you. If only this situation was you during your pregnancy. I would have loved to rip open that soft belly of yours and eat your tiny kits from your body. Watch them squirm as they cling to the life they will never get to live. If only." Wolf was grinning from ear to ear. She was having fun.
-
"I can show you. Come along, mama. I'll show you where your lover is," Wolf stated. She stood up, flicked her tail, and was ready to lead Guppy onto a wild goose chase for nothing.
Grrrreat looked up at Xylander for a few minutes. "Is mama just taking a lot potty break?" she asked. Sometimes she could see cats walk out of camp and come back smelling of urine or feces. Surely mother was just doing that. -
Wolf led Guppy around for a bit. She didn't seem to really have any sense of location. And finally, a scent caught her nose. She quickly turned around and went straight for the smell. And there, in front of her, was a splatter of blood. From who? Who cares.
"Tada," Wolf said. She looked at Guppy. -
"Well of course I didn't. Like I said a skunk chased me away. It must have carried him off somewhere else or something bigger came and ate the rest." Wolf replied. She looked down at the blood and sniffed it. It wasn't warm. Darn.
She realized that she had been away from her hiding spot for quite a bit. Needing to go back there, she decided it was time to have Guppy stop following. "Now that you know that he is dead, I will be on my way. I have better things to do than to show you a dead lover's blood." With that, Wolf began to walk away. -
Wolf stopped and smiled. "Well of course it isn't warm. It is cold. Silly mama, thinking you are going to catch me in a lie. Hide is dead." She noticed Guppy was starting to act a bit off. "Are you alright?" she asked showing deep concern. Of course she didn't care, but might as well ask.
-
Wolf stared at Guppy as she collapsed. She slowly approached her and sniffed. She didn't smell sick, which was good. "Tsk tsk. You tired your little body out." After standing around for a minute, she sighed. Might as well take this cat. She grabbed her by the scruff and dragged Guppy away.
-
Bark looked at Xylander and frowned. She wasn't sure what he was planning to do.
Wolf brought Guppy to a odd hole in the ground. Inside the den was Hide!!!!!!! Coolio. -
A Gabe was picked up. Hazah hazah.
Bark went over and got the herbs all together. She picked them up and was ready to go. Speck was ready. Jackal was still sleepy due to his bad night of rest. He glanced around a bit. Taub was ready to go.
Wolf put Guppy down and then laid down. Hide seemed to be sleep. Maybe bringing Guppy to this den was a bad idea. -
Wolf waited a while before heading out. If Guppy made it here, then surely someone else was nearby.
Everyone followed.
Jackal was lagging behind a bit. He had his head hung low with his eyes shutting and then jerking open at random. -
Jackal wanted to ask if they could stop to rest, but they had not been traveling long. The young tom continued onward and struggled. Every so often he'd stumble about.
-
Jackal just about had it with this journey. He was getting too tired to care and too tired to carry on. Instead of looking around for a way to get over the thing, he sat down.
Wolf eventually came back into the little hole she'd be hoarding cats in. "Goodmorning, sunshine," she grinned. "Now that you are awake, get out." -
Jackal slumped down to the ground and rested his head. He was tired.
Taub glanced back at Lark and Jackal. Eh, he didn't care about them. He tried to help find a way up the giant thing.
Gabe started to cry. Why? Idk man.
Wolf quickly went back into the den and guarded the front of it. Since Guppy had awoken, she might try to steal Hide away. She couldn't let that happen. -
*doesn't ignore*
"Leave. You have already stunk this den. Hide is resting so leave him be," Wolf growled. She seemed to be attempting to protect him. She had no herbs to heal him. All she could do was make sure he was out of the snow.
