Her parents got her a horse when she was five which was actually a pegasus. A black pegasus, his name was Poseidon in honour of the god who created the horse. She spends much time with Poseidon and reads to him and sings to him.

ic: Athena walked through the empty halls. She had joined Hogwarts just recently at the age of thirteen but now fourteen. The school had let her keep her winged horse, Poseidon, in the school stables. She carried her books and looked around, her sneakers squeaking on the floor. She had met nobody after a year at Hogwarts and lived in the shadow's of her dorm studying or seeing Poseidon. Poseidon was her only friend at Hogwarts and the only thing that kept her spirits up.

Athena sat down in the library and got out a book on pegasi. She looked at all the different types, some could fly into the stars, some could only hover above the ground a few feet. None of them looked like Poseidon though. He was all black with a white star on his forehead and beautiful black wings.

Athena looked up from her book. No student at hogwarts had ever spoken to her before."Um, hi." she said biting her lip.

"Oh, well, I'm Athena." she said swallowing."What house are you in?'

Athena closed the book and returned it to its shelf."Well it was nice meeting you Lily." she said, walking to the great hall.

Athena sat at Ravenclaw's table and ate her food. She wasn't very hungry but forced herself to eat. She got up and went to her dorm. She changed into riding boots and jeans. She silently went over to the stables. She rubbed Poseidon's head. She lead him out of his stable and into the open area. She pulled herself up, grabbing a handful of mane. She kicked and he immediatly started to gallop. He spread his wings and within a few seconds they were soaring above Hogwarts. The wind whipped past Athena's ears. Poseidon flew down and sailed past the windows of the Great Hall.

Athena landed Poseidon right beside where Shift was. He neighed and reared. Athena laughed."Uh huh, you sure would look good in a tux Poseidon. She dismounted and fed him some treats.
