Mottlewing gave Specklenose an amused glance. 'If you're not feeling good, go to the Medicine cat's den. Get some rest though, you look a bit... off.'

'They're beautiful,' Honeyflower purrs kindly. 'Have you named them yet?'
-
Kits... thought Frostleaf. She couldn't attack a queen with young kits. It just felt wrong to her. Detatching her claws and aiming a soft blow to the she-cat's flank, Frostleaf hissed. 'Run! Your kits need their mother.'
-
Honeyflower didn't know the she-cat in front of her, but she could tell a non-threatening tone when she heard one. 'If you need our leader, you should go to his den. All sorts of things are said about ShadowClan, but none of our warriors should attack a queen expecting kits.'
-
Mottlewing dropped into the grass as she scented a vole nearby. Creeping along the ground, she made a move towrds her prey.
-
Honeyflower mewed happily. 'Congratulations. Are they your first litter?'
-
'My first litter will be born in a moon or so,' Honeyflower purred happily.
-
Honeyflower, who was a lot softer and gentler than the smirking Icetail, mewed. 'Icetail, don't mock her too much. She's tired, and probably needs some fresh kill.' Honeyflower did brush against her clanmate, just to show she was only teasing.
-
Honeyflower purred. 'Would you like some fresh kill? I was on my way there now.'
-
Mottlewing batted the fleeing vole, ckaws unsheathed, and it fell. She finished the stunned vole with a quick bite, and mewed her thanks to Thunderclaw. 'Thanks for that!'
-
Honeyflower looked taken aback. 'Of course not! Kits should never be persecuted, no matter what clan they're from!'
-
Honeyflower's gaze was firm, but fair, as she padded in front of Willowpelt and held the she-cat's eyeline. 'Willowpelt, I promise you. Some cats may see it differently, but I personally believe kits are kits, no matter where they are from.' She brushed her pelt lightly against the she-cat's.
-
'Come into the nursery with me,' Honeyflower mewed. 'We'll find you a place to sleep. Most of the queens are kind, even if some of the warriors aren't. They understand what it's like to be concerned about kits' welfare.'
-
Honeyflower left for the freshkill pile, and returned with two mice clamped in her jaws. She lay one in front of Rosepetal and her kits, and started to eat the other herself.
-
Honeyflower led Willowpelt into the sheltered nursery, casting an apologetic glance back to Icetail. She hoped the warrior wasn't offended by their disagreement, and made a note to apologise to her as soon as Willowpelt was okay.
She turned to the ThunderClan queen and mewed, 'This nest is free, at the moment. Feel free to take it, I don't see there being a problem.'
-
Mottlewing quickly dropped her prey in the hollow behind a tree, and crept around so she was at the other side of Thunderclaw's vole. If it fled, it would be right into her path.
-
Mottlewing let out a mew of laughter as she watched her clanmate chase the rabbit, before joining in.
-
Honeyflower purred. 'Did you catch that? It's huge!'
-
Honeyflower gestured to the beaver. 'Mind if I...?' she asked. 'I haven't eaten yet, and Willowpelt is already asleep.'
-
Mottlewing couldn't eavedrop silently any more. She rolled over to the two cats and stretched her legs. 'It does sound like you, Shadowclaw. You're going to save the clan!' she mewed excitedly.
