"...Do you think she did it on purpose?" Dean asked, after a few moment's silence. "She seemed genuinely angry with me though?"
"Thankyou." Evelyn nodded even though she had no intention of it. "How have you been?"
Logan began to scratch at his own arms a little, trying to find the words he wanted to say but not succeeding. "I need... to go..."
"What about friends then?" Pablo asked. "Don't tell me you've been off on your own this whole time?"
"Okay." Scarlett gave a firm nod. "Be safe!"
"Scared?" War tilted her head.
"True~ Hopefully fun for you though?"
-
"I hope not." Dean gave a little nod. "She's... She's crazy? I wasn't in her head for long because I couldn't stand it, but?? It's not how a mind should work and connect at all?"
"...Yeah..." Evelyn grimaced. "Things haven't been great. Katrina showed up again and aged me a few months which hurt and still hurts quite a lot. And I lost one of the babies."
Logan's shoulder's were tense to touch and his eyes fixed on the ground. "Home home home." He opened up a portal infront of them.
-
"It looks like it." Dean nodded. "I think that's why she really freaked out when I used my powers on her?"
"It's okay." Evelyn shook her head. "I just really really want this to be over. Every part of it has been terrible."
Logan followed, breathing quite heavily. "I died??"
-
"...What if I could fix her though?" Dean spoke softly. "What if I learnt how to fix her instead."
Evelyn looked at her properly. "Yeah?... I really hope so. I'm... so scared."
"You died!" Logan looked horrified, tail lashing in possible anger.
-
"I don't know what she's done," Dean admitted, "But surely if it's just a toyed-with mind, then I could set it straight? If I learnt how?"
Evelyn smiled faintly. "Everyone keeps saying that, but I'm not so sure."
"You got tricked??" Logan grabbed Connor's hands to hold them tightly and stared at him rather intently, brows furrowed but eyes clearer than they'd been for a long while. "That's not fair!!"
-
Dean smiled slightly in return. "I just want to be able to help people, like you do?"
Evelyn glanced away, still smiling a little. "Thankyou... It means a lot."
"No??" Logan shook his head firmly. "You died for me? Even though it scares you so much? ...Thankyou..."
-
"I'd like that!" Dean gave a nod. "Not right now but... yes please."
"I actually have no idea what I'm doing with the whole pregnancy thing." Evelyn admitted. "And nor does Max. So any help or advice there is always welcome?"
Logan clearly wasn't sure what to do, contemplating for a good few seconds before hugging him. "..."
-
"Yes please; I'm starving." Dean nodded.
"Artemis? I can do." Evelyn nodded.
"It is okay." Logan stroked Connor's back with his tail, holding him tighter. "...I love you."
-
"I'll try." Dean promised with a little nod.
Evelyn raised both eyebrows. "I feel like that's unlikely, with our lives the way they are. But also moving at all is starting to get very tiring."
"How long... has it been?..." Logan asked, more control in his voice than before.
-
Dean leant his head against her. "Thankyou..."
"Preferably not." Evelyn nodded. "But no one can protect me against Katrina if she comes back."
"We died." Logan locked eyes with him.
"...Talk to people."
"How did it go?" Annie tilted her head.
"I'm sure they don't... Not yet..." War assured her.
"Aah, me too~!"
-
"Thankyou??" Dean raised both eyebrows in surprise, giving her a wobbly but genuine smile. "I love you too?"
Evelyn didn't look very reassured, but dipped her head anyway. "...Thankyou."
Logan groaned and put a hand to his head in apparent pain, dropping eye-contact immediately. "Weeks..."
"I think it'd be good for you." Pablo nodded. "Who do you know?"
"I expected her to throw a fit?" Annie admitted. "So this is good!"
"I'll fight anyone who says a bad word!!" War promised, fists up to demonstrate.
And off they went!
"I suppose you should meet Drake too?..." Sophie looked to Emilia. "Your dad, I mean."
-
"Then you should do it. You used to be super close right." Pablo nodded. "What happened to Connor aswell?"
"I think a lot of that is your influence!" Annie smiled. "You're more mature than me?"
"I mean it!" War beamed, happy she could get Lilith to smile.
"I... don't know." Sophie admitted. "I haven't seen him for a while. Probably his cabin I'd say?"
"A-are you sure I'm not a burden?" Dean insisted. "You don't have to take me in just out of pity!"
Evelyn shuffled slightly in discomfort, a hand resting on her middle. "So... How have you been?"
Logan furrowed his brows as panic rose in his face, knotting his hands in his hair again. "I can hardly remember anything after dying? ?"
-
"Do you think it could be like that again?"
Annie smiled. "Yeah... I'm more mature than I used to be atleast! Rin and I used to get into all sorts of trouble!"
War squeezed in return. "I've got your back~"
"Okay." Sophie took a deep breath, really not looking forward to seeing Drake for the first time since he broke up with her but doing her best not to let it show infront of Emilia. "Let's go then~"
Dean took a moment to do so, looking like he might cry with all the emotions he was feeling at once. "T-thankyou?? How??"
"That's good..." Evelyn nodded too. "Are you staying at camp?"
"I don't feel like it now." Logan nodded, eyes beginning to get a little unfocused again. "I... I'm so confused... My back hurts so much? My head too."
-
"You're the best mum??" Dean hid his face in her. "Thankyou so so much??"
"I do." Evelyn nodded. "You know you can come stay whenever you like?"
"Yeah..." Logan nodded. He knelt down where he was, holding onto Connor still.
"Worth a try I think?"
"She's waay more mature than she used to be!" Annie told her. "She used to prank people with uncle Len all the time~"
"Depends what you want to teach her!~" War grinned. "Fighting is obviously very important!"
"Really? Don't worry about it~" Sophie tried to brush it off with a laugh, but couldn't help sounding tense.
-
"...What even happened between all of you? If you don't mind me asking."
"I found it super funny!" Annie laughed. "Maybe I can find you some pictures of us back then?"
"Okay okay~"
"I just haven't seen him for a while, so I don't know how it's going to go." Sophie told her, "Or how he'll react to you!"
-
"I love you too??" Dean smiled, "...Are you okay though? I didn't mean to snoop in your head, I'm sorry."
Evelyn nodded. "It would be nice to see more of you. And to know you're not in camp?"
"Sick..." Logan gripped his hands, buckling over a little. "Confused..."
-
"That's a lot." Pablo nodded.
"Well... LOTS has happened!" Annie tilted her head in thought. "I can mostly remember the bad stuff? But I guess that's just the way it goes."
War raised both eyebrows. "...We gotta teach her to talk first!"
"Yes, I suppose so, c'mon then~" Sophie nodded, leading the way to her old cabin.
"You shouldn't... blame yourself for the stuff Katrina does. Or how she is to Skieros." Dean told her. "I can hear you doing that, but it's really not your fault?"
"Maybe soon? It'd help me a lot, I think." Evelyn admitted.
Logan didn't smile back, but did lean into him. "What happened to me."
-
"True. I think all three of you have changed a lot."
"We had a lot of fun, back in old camp!" Annie nodded. "It used to be a summer camp for kids?"
"Oh shit that's so cool?" War watched Eve with wide eyes.
"It is." Sophie nodded, going to knock on the door. "We built it together, after the last time camp got destroyed... Anyway."
"They're expecting you, right?"
-
Dean shook his head firmly, the most forceful he'd ever been around her. "That's not true? You saved me and Skie from her?"
"Okay, nice!" Evelyn nodded.
"What if it's always like this." Logan shook his head.
-
"I don't blame you, and I'm sure Skie doesn't either?" Dean insisted softly. "You came as quickly as you could?"
"Um... so like what happened with that werewolf thing?" Evelyn asked after a heavy silence.
"...Okay." Logan gave a small nod. "I'll trust you."
