Hadleigh yanked the steering wheel to the side as the massive hound lept over and in front of their car. She slammed on the gas pedal when it started chasing them. " Sweet Jesus, " she muttered. " Let's see how fast this baby can go!!! " and she pressed harder on the pedal until it could go no more. Then she realized; she had a dagger in her pack that her mum had given her when she was little, after her dad left. " FELIX!!!! In my bag, on the right side there's a dagger, get it out, bring it to me, then take the wheel!!!! " she yelled, swerving on the deserted road to try and lose the hellhound.

Yeah, sorry, I read this before I read that.
-
Hadleigh took the dagger an climbed into the back, smacking her hand against her forehead. " Just keep your foot on the gas pedal, I'll be back up right away so you won't have to use the brakes! Keep both hands on the wheel and don't mess with the stick, the gears are shifted correctly!!!!! It's just like a video game!!!! " she yelled at him, taking her stance how the guys had taught her, and waiting for the hound to come within throwing range.
-
Hadleigh saw a large shadow in the mist behind them, and she flung her arm forward and let go of the dagger once her arm was fully extended. She heard a roar as the dagger disappeared and saw the slightest puff of gold, then it was silent. She let out a sigh. She climbed back up and nudged Felix over with her hip, slowing down and pulling off the side of the road, hiding from the cops in the shadows. Once the lights and sirens were gone, she pulled back up on the road and went at a steady speed of 65. " Well then, now that that's over. " she said lightly.
-
She smirked at Felix. " Nice driving, " she commented. " Now we'll just have to teach you the gears. "
-
Hadleigh laughed. " It's easy. Like baking a pie. Or throwing a dagger. Easy stuff like that. " she said, bouncing lightly in her head. " Just keep driving, just keep driving, just keep driving driving driving what do we do... " she sang lightly to herself, her adrenaline leaving and her horribly ADHD brain came out.
-
Hadleigh shrugged. " I dunno. Well, there is a large, large, large, large tree on that hill. And it looks rather abnormal. We should start there. " she suggested, slowing down.
-
Hadleigh reached down an pulled the wires apart. She hopped out through the window and jogged up the hill to her friends. She looked at the new kid. " Hey kid, " she said, brushing her hands off on her legs. " you know where we're at? Also, do you have any food? I could eat more than Luke when he hasn't tasted food for two days... " she muttered, enjoying being out with her friends adventuring but also missing her little cave and all the guys. She sighed. Get over it Hadleigh. Suck it up and take it like a man. she thought to herself.
-
Hadleigh kicked the weapons away from Elisa. She reached down and pulled her up so she was standing, and stepped in front of her group of friends. " Hey now, no need to get worked up. We're all friends here in the hood. " she gently pushed the sword that was pointed at her neck down with her index finger. " No, no. No need for that. "
-
Hadleigh sighed. " Please tell me we won't be 'interrupted' again by more kids like them? People like that annoy me. A lot. " she grumbled.
-
Hadleigh's eyes narrowed. So far, everyone she'd met at this camp had cracked up to either trying to kill her, or using deeply annoying sarcasm with her. She was not enjoying this camp rather much. Follow me to live... Psssh, I've spent my entire living underground and sharing a room with about 30 other guys and eating only a meal and a half a day. I don't like the way this goatboy is addressing us... she thought, crossing her arms over her chest.
-
" What the hell was that about?? " Hadleigh grumbled. She turned to look at Felix. " You ok? " she asked him, raising an eyebrow.
-
Hadleigh followed the goatboy and Felix, not entirely trusting the furry-legged kid. " So... What? You got a camp full of psychos here? " she asked aggressively, raising an eyebrow at the boy.
-
Hadleigh scoffed. Demigods. " Please. Next they'll try to tell us writing utensils can turn into weapons. " she snickered quietly to her friends.
-
Hadleigh's eyes widened. " Woah... " she said, trying to poke it. She was unaware that over her own head was a sparkling sea green triton, the same color of her eyes.
-
Hadleigh's brow furrowed. " Ok.... And what the junk is that supposed to mean? " she asked.
-
Hadleigh hesitantly let the liquid slide down her throat, the last of her friends to try it. She sputtered once she tasted it then downed it like a shot. " Mmmm, sausage links. " she closed her eyes in content.
-
Hadleigh sucked down the dregs of her drink. She pushed the glass at one of the annoying people that had swords drawn on them earlier, smirking as they grabbed the glass and glared at her. She jogged to catch up with her friends. " Who's Chiron, goatboy? " she asked.
-
Hadleigh's eye widened and she clapped giddily. " Ooh, yeah!!! When do we get weapons? Please tell me you guys don't use guns. I hate those things. I got shot once-" she stopped herself when she realized she'd been babbling. " Sorry. Anyways, weapons?? "
-
Hadleigh shrugged. " Well, I lost my only dagger to a massive mutt, and Luke's shotgun is untouchable. The only thing remotely close to a weapon is this pen. It's never even been uncapped. " she sighed defeatedly.
