She pads over to a spot where she can see him, though she is still hidden.

She watched him from behind the bushes.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Yeah.." He sighed.

She stepped on a twig, snapping it in half. "He probably heard it!" She thought.

"I'm alright." He said. "What's your name?"

She scrambled behind a tree.

She sprinted into a hole in a fallen tree.

Rocknose saw him fall asleep and carried him back to the nursery, careful not to wake him.

Smokestorm ran up to her and tried to carry her to the medicine cat.

The medicine cat wasn't in her den. He rested her on the ground and licked her forehead.

"You're hurt. I brought you to the medicine cat but she isn't here right now." He meowed.

Rootpaw bounded out of the den. "What will we do today?" She asked her mentor.

She smiled down at him and set him down in the nursery.

"Maybe we'll be able to smell him." She suggested.

"Sure." She mewed, smiling.

He smiled, relieved she could breathe. "You're welcome" He meowed over the sound of the water. He tried to drag her back to shore, but the water swept them away.

He saw a chance to get out of the river and swam to to edge, dragging her with him.

Rocknose fell asleep later in the night.
