Hushpaw grinned. "I'm glad I don't have to sit in... the wild... anymore... being killed," he said brightly. "Now all I need is a mentor."

Hushpaw... once a rogue, attacked by foxes, torn from his best friend, and forced to watch his mother die. And yet, here he was, finally. "I'm an apprentice," he murmured, as if it was a phenomenon.
He watched from the corner of the den, suddenly flustered. After all, he couldn't see anyone he knew.
-
"Yeah," he agreed.
-
"Er... sure," he agreed. "Let's go."
-
"Nothing. Just, you know... first day living in a Clan... I'm a bit nervous," he chuckled.
-
"Uh... Well, my mother was a rogue named Soil, but she was killed by a Twoleg. She told me my father's name was Leaf," he said, reciting his immediate family. "O had two sisters, but they died at birth."
-
All right. Would you mind starting a training thread?
-
Thank you!
-
Hushpaw purred, padding up to his mentor. "Hello, Jaywalker. What type of training will we do today?" he questioned. The tom flicked his scarred tail.
-
"Battle?" he suggested to Jaywalker. Hush shrugged, grinning.
-
Hushpaw took off after his mentor. "Coming!"
-
"Well, I was playing with my friend Rosie, when a fox snatched me up. I think it wanted me for prey, but another cat rescued me before I was killed. Just then, a band of rogues came by and grabbed me. I don't know what they wanted to do to me, but..." He trailed off. "Anyway, that left scars."
-
Hushpaw swallowed. He knew how to fight, having grown up as a rogue, but was nervous nevertheless. He pounced, aiming to land on Jaywalker's back.
-
"No, she was my friend," he mewed. "And... I don't know where she is." I'd go back to her if I could. He didn't say this aloud, though.
-
Before he'd heard the end of Jaywalker's sentence, Hushpaw darted towards his mentor, a blow with claws sheathed aimed at his belly.
-
"Yes, Moonpaw is correct in that. Thank you, though," he said, grinning up at the warrior.
-
"Thank you, Petalmoon." Hushpaw dipped his head in farewell.
-
Hushpaw could see that his mentor was readied for defense, so he stayed crouching.

There is little you remember when you've already been broken to pieces. But, in some cases, nothing is forgotten.
Hushpaw, unfortunately, was the poster child for said cases. Every day, his old name haunted him like a cloud- Hush. It was him, in a sense. And yet, he was happy. Well, partly.
True happiness was something of a myth to him.

Hushpaw lifted his head, eyes half-closed in drowsiness. An apprentice seemed to appear in the corned of his eye, and he mewed, voice thick with sleep, "Hello."
