  • Updated: Like/dislike feature -- Like and dislike, like only, or neither?

    Dislikes are definitely not a good idea, but as far as likes only, I just don't think this would be a good system to implement. I'm definitely confident in saying neither, I feel like it would be a strange and unnecessary addition, and it just doesn't seem like something that in any way belongs on a roleplay forum. Yes maybe it would be cool to be able to like really amazing posts/pieces of writing, but it something I feel shouldn't have a place here. Roleplaying, or even writing in general, should be about how many likes you get, and some people might start to think that.

    [color=grey]I haven't roleplayed in quite a while, and I enjoy writing a lot so I'd really like to get back into it. However I have little to no ideas about what to do, so if anyone is interesting in doing a private, or even multi person thread with me just let me know!
    I would prefer semi-advanced and maybe advanced (depending on how much muse I have at the time).
    I'm willing to rp most things, I'm fine with gore and all, though I'd prefer to stay away from anime rps and characters with anime face claims. Not a big vampire fan, but fandom rps are fine, I like doctor who, supernatural, arrow, a few other things. I would prefer something original, but mostly I just want something to do, so I'll do just about anything.

  • Camp customization?

    Wow.
    So I haven't been on FeralFront in a hell of a long time,
    and I mean a LONG time.
    Everything is completely different now, seeing as we're on a new system, and I've figured some stuff out, but I'm having trouble with my profile.
    So I used to have this really pretty profile template, and I'd really like to create a new one for myself, but I'm not sure how we're supposed to customize our profiles.
    I found the profile customization page, where it just has a box titled "Custom Styling (CSS)," but I'm not sure where to go from here.
    Yes, I know what CSS is, and how to use it. I tried several different things, including inputting some HTML with the CSS under <style> </style> tags, but it didn't work, and I don't know what the HTML for the profile page looks like, so I can't exactly put CSS in that modifies that specific code.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello everyone!


    It's been quite a long time!

    I used to be completely addicted to this site, but I stopped being active after getting really busy with high school.

    Well, now that I've graduated I was thinking about maybe coming back, and wow things are different. I have checked in once or twice since I became inactive so I've seen some of the new changes that have happened, but I'm still not used to how different the site is. Anyways, hello everyone! I'm looking forward to being back and trying my hand at rping once again.

    -large build, inherited both white's tall stature and twin's stockiness.

    -thick medium length fur (though it airs on the short side), her coat is an ink black, occasionally fading into a swirl of dark dusty grey. Her left cheek sports a small splash of the vitiligo that she inherited, leading to a sprinkle of white across the left side of her neck. She also has a splash of white across the left side of her chest, and another splash on her underbelly near her hind quarters. The middle of her back right leg also show a small patch of white.

    -Ink's eyes are a dull blue color.


    Personality:

    -Ink has an inherent sass that she will have her entire life. She is not afraid to speak her mind, or drop a snarky comment or two if she wishes. She certainly isn't the friendliest of persons, and finds it easier to make enemies than friends. However, despite her spiky demeanor, Inksoul has a small soft spot for her siblings. Being largely built and unafraid to stand up herself, she feels somewhat protective towards her brothers and sisters and wants to see them safe.

    -Ink also carries with her a childhood naiveté -which does not pair well with her candor and sass- that transforms into somewhat of a reckless and rebellious side as she reaches her teenage years.

    -Finally, Ink harbors a resentment towards her father, born out of his actions and attitude toward his children at the start of their lives. She feels hurt and disgusted by the fact that he would have children and then choose to simply push them away and keep them out of his life. Even when he eventually comes around and attempts to reconcile, Ink will find it very hard, if at all possible, to forgive him.

  • What books should I read?

    My book list is so long I'm drowning in it.

    I have a million different book suggestions, but here are a few that have some good variety:


    Fantasy / Sci-Fi:

    -If you're looking for something humorous but super well written, Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is flipping AMAZING. (And there's a tv show coming out soon with a bunch of awesome actors, written by Neil gaiman) It's about an angel and a demon trying to stop the apocalypse and it's hilarious.

    -On a slightly more serious note, Game of Thrones is amazingly written, but a huge commitment bc they're all 1000+ pages

    -If you want something funny and just straight up strange, the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is awesome


    Non-fiction:

    -I'm not a non-fiction person AT ALL, but I recently read American Kingpin by Nick Bolton and I loved it. It's about the man who created the Silk Road (the online drug empire, not the trading route) and it's written as a narrative. I found the political views and the moral ambiguity really fascinating.


    Side note, I don't really read horror (I want to try getting into though), but my friend recommended to me a book called Trigger Warning by Neil Gaiman, and it's really good. A series of creepy short stories. Also, someone mentioned 1984, it's a great book. If you want something really disturbing (though I would say parts of 1984 get pretty disturbing as well) Clockwork Orange is really good, but a tough read because you get no explanation of what's almost a new language so you have to figure out what half the words in the book mean via context clues.
