Softpaw lifted her nose high into the air and closed her eyes, trying hard to pick out any scent of prey.
Finally! After a few moments pause, she picked up the delicate scent of squirrel. Crouching low, she squinted her eyes to see through the fluffy flakes of snow. She caught sight of it's fury tail, it was getting away. I started to run. It ditched me in a bramble bush. When I came through the other end of the bush the squirrel was nowhere to be found. I stopped in alarm, staring at a tom I had failed to scent.
-
Softpaw, seeing the other cat, bounded over to talk with her. "Hey, my name's Softpaw." she mewed
-
I looked up at the aproaching cat. "Greetings!" I mewed happily and gave a little wiggly hop.
-
Softpaw paded in, looking around and hoping someone would be friendly and willing to be friends. Or mabey she was just looking for some action... Anyway, she sat down next to the fresh-kill pile and started to groom a paw.
-
"What's wrong?" Softpaw gazed at her with concern, she layed down to get a better look at her drooping face.
-
When do you want to meet at the training hollow? =)
-
"hey..." Softpaw replied absently to Snowpaw as she gazed worriedly at Leafpaw.
-
She stared at him, shocked. "I... I'm Softpaw..." She stammered, "uh- of ThunderClan, and your on our territory." She continued, getting more confident as she went on, puffing out her chest. "What brings you here?" she asked, suspicion sparking in her eyes.
-
"I feel the same way all the time," she said, a lonely look flashed past in her eyes, "but I just have bad self-talk, and I highly doubt that you'll be a bad apprentice." She looked at her, trying hard to be reasuring. She smiled a bit.
-
She got a cherrful expression upon her face. "I wouldn't be saying it if I didn't mean it!" She laughed happily.
-
Softpaw paded in, looking around to try and spot a friend of hers or even a friendly face to hold conversation with.
-
"uh-um..." I looked at Rosekit, a little startled. "What... What's wrong?"
-
"oh, no! Don't cry!" I whispered, freaking out, "We'll find her! Don't worry! We'll find her!"
Trying to be comforting, I steped up to her and gave her quick couple licks between the ears.
-
She look at her, relief flooding over her. "Okay... I'm softpaw... What do we do now...?" She asked, totally at lost with what to do about the kit.
-
I sighed with relief, plopping down on the ground. "oh, let me get you some food?" She said, turning to the older she-cat to see if it was a good idea.
