Windwhisper nodded. She decided to ask aloud the question that had been on her mind for a long while. "What do you think of me?"

I knew it, she thought bitterly. He thinks of me as a friend! But anyhow my relationships with toms always end with pain.. Windwhisper forced a purr out of her dry throat. "Thanks," she muttered.

Robin was a young gray wolf with stunning yellow eyes. She lived in Amethyst Mountain, in Yellowstone National Park. It was peak time for mating.

IC: Emeraldgrass padded along the ThunderClan border, marking it, when he happened to glane up, and see the most beautiful she-cat ever. He froze. That was the ShadowClan territory...she must be ShadowClan.

IC: Emeraldgrass felt his fur rise when she turned to stare at him. Oh well. She noticed him. Might as well say hi. "Hello, are you from ShadowClan?"

Emeraldgrass was taken aback by the ice in her tone. Feisty she-cat! he thought with mild amusement. "Okay. Um, well I have to go now." He stared up at the full moon in the sky. "We have to go to the Gathering soon." He looked at the she-cat. "See you then. What's your name first? I'm Emeraldgrass." He couldn't stop blabbing; there was something about this cat...

A while later...
ThunderClan was headed to the Gathering spot ((i forgot wat its called -_-)). ShadowClan and RiverClan were already there. Emeraldgrass broke away from his Clan and stood on his tiptoes, hoping to catch a glimpse of Aurasong.

Emeraldsong finally spotted Aurasong's recognizable black pelt behind a throng of ShadowClan cats. It was a time of peace, and cats from all Clans were mingling and exchanging news. He padded over to the black she-cat. "Hey there," he purred. He sat down. "I feel like I should know you better. I've never talked to anyone from outside of ThunderClan."

"Hmm...oh, I know an awesome icebreaker! What's your favorite piece of fresh-kill?" he mewed with laughter in his voice. "Mine is rabbit."

"I think RiverClan eats them. They do seem pretty nasty even though I've never tried one," he agreed. "Let's see...have you ever fallen in love?" There was a playful twinkle in his green eye.

Ebonyleaf was a very strange cat indeed. He was both handsome, kind and brave, the deputy of his Clan, and he was young. Rare, yup. And he was looking for a mate...WILL YOU BE THE ONE FOR HIM??? ;)

Emeraldgrass didn't notice Aurasong's discomfort yet. "Oh, with whom? So you have a mate." He purred out loud. By now, WindClan was starting to enter the island.

"Oh, I'm sorry...," Emeraldgrass murmured, silently cursing himself. The leaders from the Clans leapt up onto the tree. The ThunderClan leader, Fallenstar, stepped up first. Emeraldgrass turned to stare at his leader. "Everything is fine in ThunderClan," she meowed. "Prey is abundant, but the Twoleg kits have set up little camps by our river." She stepped back.

IC: Cloudstar, the leader of RiverClan, stood. "We have two new apprentices. Fishpaw and Pebblepaw." Cats mewed in congratulations. He sat. Then Yarrowstar, leader of WindClan, stepped forward. "We have three new warriors. Longfeather, Clovertail, and Addertooth." The three warriors dipped their heads in embarassment as they were cheered for, too.

Emeraldgrass noticed how jumpy Aurasong was asking. Was it over this Warstorm? She also said she fell in love once. Maybe...he quickly put two and two together. Maybe...he was her mate. He wanted to clarify with Aurasong, but felt too reluctant to. The leaders waved their tails, allowing for a few more minutes for conversation before they left.

As the other cats got up to mingle, Emeraldgrass and Aurasong were left alone at the edge of the island, hidden in the shadows. He just sat quietly, enjoying Aurasong's presence and wondering if Warstorm really was her mate. "What do you think of me?" he asked aloud suddenly. He turned his green gaze on her.

Ebonyleaf stood at the edge of the pond, staring in at his face. Can a she-cat ever love this face? he thought. In truth, Ebonyleaf was very handsome, but he didn't think so. He was desperate for a mate. All he had to do was stare at a she-cat and say, "Will you be my mate?" He was that straightforward and desperate. He would even mate a fox if he had to. He twitched his ear in amusement. Actually, he wouldn't. He startled a bit when he saw another cat's face staring up at him from the pond.
