from the corner of his eye, jin watched the other man begin to apply the pink lip balm. maybe it would be incredibly adorable to see him with pink lips.. the korean tried not to think about it too much, though. besides, his ‘fiance’ shouldn’t even try and look too far into this. jin wasn’t trying to make any friendships while he was here. not even from some guy from his agency that was supposed to be all that. you know, maybe it was a bit annoying that his very own rival was here. maybe it was a bit more annoying knowing that this man was younger than him, and was about ready to accomplish the same things that jin had done. it was frustrating because jin had made this his whole life- no friends, no family, nothing outside of his job was even relevant to him nowadays. it was frustrating because addison didn’t make this job his whole life- he still had friends, he was still happy-go-lucky and bright and cheerful. it was frustrating because, if addison got that opportunity, why couldn’t jin still have that opportunity? he could be with his parents, his ex(?)-girlfriend.. maybe addison had a girlfriend. he had everything that jin could’ve possibly wanted, all while getting to excel at the very job that jin had made his entire life. perhaps if he weren’t so committed to his role in espionage, he would have met someone from their office. i mean, samantha was always flirting with him. and there were a lot of people that made eyes at him. however, he didn’t have time to think about that when all he could think about was how they’d probably get taken away from him, anyway. just like everything else he’d ever known.
which was why he wasn’t getting close to the vietnamese man, who was currently fixing his makeup in the bathroom. even as he shot a playful - was it supposed to be playful or adorable? - smirk his way and started to chuckle at his own teasing statement. was jin sung-lee actually curious about addison for once? he pondered over the other’s words for a moment, as if genuinely thinking about it (which he was not). “i don’t know, you tell me. am i?” that was probably the best, most vague answer the korean could give. he liked it that way, especially when he didn’t quite know the answer to the question, himself. the agent could’ve lied and said he was interested in the makeup, that would’ve been his response to anyone else. although he wouldn’t admit it, however, he was finding himself getting kind of attached to the vietnamese in front of him. part of him, for now, would try and deny it. say that was merely his character, the kim part of him getting a bit too obsessed in the role as the other man’s fiance. when he once considered the other man getting killed and not being too bothered by it, he found something crawl underneath his skin. a hot, sinking feeling that started in his chest and ran through him all the way to his toes and the tips of his fingers. protectiveness, he quickly decided. but why, why for this guy, out of all people? why not for someone that wasn’t his rival, that he just met off of the street? he was shaken from his thoughts by addison’s words. “doesn’t your face look just as bright without it?” then again jin didn’t understand what ‘brighter’ meant when it came to makeup. or how it was achieved. he could only assume it was a good thing. at least he hoped.
he should try putting some on sometime? the question was enough to blow his mind, honestly. jin hadn’t ever thought about putting makeup on, before. hell, the agent probably didn’t even know the first thing, what to do-- he probably wouldn’t even match his skin tone correctly if he were given the choice. though the other’s offer was enough to make him pause, only to give a slight nod of his head. “sure. i don’t see why not. maybe in our downtime.” he still seemed a bit hesitant about the idea, but maybe he was actually trying to be a good guy. why he was even caring to be nice to the other was a mystery to him. perhaps it was because it would make this whole mission a lot easier for the two of them. the idea of spending the next couple of weeks with someone he hated definitely didn’t sound ideal. and. okay, it was a possibility that jin was fairly curious about how he looked in makeup. i mean, it seemed to accentuate addison’s features quite well. the taiwanese man’s eyes seemed that much brighter, his skin looking so healthy, his lips -oh, his lips.. the dark-haired agent shook his head of those thoughts almost immediately. seriously, what was wrong with him? why couldn’t he stop thinking about the other in that sort of way? the agent quickly decided that he needed to focus more on the work, less on being all buddy-buddy with his partner. jin always had been independent, always focused on his own well-being so that others stopped getting in his way. it shouldn’t be any different with this guy around, either. this was merely all a piece of his job, and getting close to someone.. it wasn’t worth it, no matter how protective he was of this bright little twerp.
those momentary thoughts were sent crumbling after a wink and airy laugh was sent his way. damn it, dang. he was going to kill him over this. as he was changing, he knew that addison saw him changing. perhaps he was even thinking a bit too into the other’s reaction. now, jin definitely wasn’t ashamed of his body. i mean, why should he be? he’d worked hard and conditioned himself for this kind of body. this was the body that he earned from running every morning and working out during the night. it wasn’t like he was a muscular freak, though. his frame was very lean, very toned-- not like he was bulging muscle with big arms and muscular legs. he could probably take some people down if he needed to. as addison trailed off a bit before slowly finishing their sentence, jin gave a small nod of his head. “what’re you staring at?” now he was only giving the other a really, really hard time of course. he didn’t mean anything by his words-- if anything, he was just telling the other that he knew that he was staring. he wouldn’t say too much about it, though. just give him that brief moment of panic or whatever. with a small - amused? - roll of his eyes, he went back and finished putting on his clothes. oh. this was too great. the older agent would definitely enjoy himself getting the other hot and bothered so often. or at least he felt like he’d enjoy it..
he hated to say the words that had left his mouth. he really hated it. his cheeks were already turning a bright red just slightly at the thought of what he was proposing. “addison, i shouldn’t be that hard to figure out,” he found himself say, as if he didn’t want to say it out loud. for a top agent, he definitely couldn’t connect the dots too well.. though he realized then he was just scolding the other out of his own embarrassment. to jin it made perfect sense. i mean, it was best to have an awkward first kiss in the privacy of their room than to have an awkward first kiss outside there in front of all of those people. they’d certainly start to suspect something was up, he knew that. why couldn’t addison see that? “i’m saying we should kiss. here, now.” he waited a moment before taking a deep breath. “it’ll be awkward, i know. but it’s just so we don’t look suspicious out there.” that much seemed to make sense, right? he caught his lower lip between his lip for a moment before shaking his head. “well, are you going to or not?”
ooc: ooomgggg i loved that scene aaaaah
