Rusty woke up, feeling worker than she ever could have imagined. There was something gritty and wet under her. She groaned as she pried her burning eyes open. The bright sun blinded her for a moment. Sand. She was laying on sand. She felt water tickle her frozen numb toes. She realized after a minute she was on a beach. Her thoughts were clouded and her head and stomachs and arms and legs hurt. She couldn't move. Not yet. So she closed her eyes and rested

Dani put a hand on her shoulder. "Just, lay down. Moving will only make it worse. Let me figure this out. Okay?" She said, looking around. She remove her hand an walked to one side of the wall. Her hands brushed everywhere, looking for an opening

Rusty finally desired to get up. She sighed and pushed herself up with weak arms until she was standing. She noticed her bag had been tied to her. She untied it and peered inside. It was soaking but she did see her blanket. She sighed again and began walking away from the ocean of shaky legs

Rusty made her way through the trees and underbrush until she found a bush with red berries. She didnt think before she sat down and began eating them. Normally she wouldn't have been so stupid but she was tired, hungry, and ill.

Rusty fell asleep, half hidden in the plants

Rusty awake when she heard voices. She cracked open her eyes and listened. She stood up and stumbled towards the voices

Dani glared at her and said nothing. She continued pushing and prying at the rocks. Finally one moved. "I got one. I'm gonna push it out. This whole thing might crumble down, get back." She readied her wings and her feet. She pushed the rock. It moved back, but not out. Dirt took its place. She cursed under her breath and clawed the dirt away. Now there was a indent in the rocks. She pushed the rock on top and it wobbled. A few small rocks fell on the inside of the cave. Dani stepped back. "I think I've almost got it."

Dani kept clawing the dirt away. "Hopefully we can get enough cracks that we can make a hole and climb out." She said through grit teeth. "We might be here for a while," she said, "judging by how thick this wall is"

"Um...Isn't that obvious?" She asked. She looked around. "How long have we been here? I just woke up like two hours ago"

Heather had been set for her wings to come two weeks before the others, a sneak peak. She had wings. Long, pale gray with speckles of tan and white. She had been hiding them in fear. She hadn't tried flying yet, incase of someone seeing her. She figured out how to tuck them tightly, so she did, and wore sweatshirts to hide them better. After seeing the other girls go to the office, and seeing them scratch their backs made her heart beat hard. Were they going to be like her? Winged freaks?

After years of war, the earth is damaged and countries are erased. Almost all of the adults have died in war, leaving only the young behind. Teens have bound together and face this new world by themselves. Will they be able to support each other? Can they get along to survive?

Dani watched the cuts on her hands heal. She then went and started again on the hole made.

Katy crashed through the forest, collecting anything that might be useful to her. Metal, cloth, food, wood, sticks, anything left behind was a treasure

Rusty nodded. "Yeah." She said. "I really don't want to be by myself in an unknown jungle, ya know?" She smiled. "I'm Rebecca Housen. You can call me Rebecca, Rusty, Becca, Bex, Housen, but I prefer Rusty. You are?"

Dani pushed upwards again and a rock lifted and tumbled away, leaving a fist sized hole where light drifted through. "I got one! I see the light!!" She called as she began trying to open the hole more.

Dani was shoving rocks everyway to expand the hole. She had made progress, it was at least a basketball size, but not large enough to excape. Suddenly a rock fell and hit Dani over the head. Her body collapsed and several more rocks fell, most missed her but a large one landed on her wrist. The hole now was large enough to make it out.
