Hello! ;D I'm a newbie and my main chara's name is Lynxfire, of SnowClan (I hope). I guess I'll introduce myself here and start making friends with whoever replies ;D

Quite obviously, I'm a new member here. I have some experience in RolePlaying, but not very much at all. I've read all the Warriors books that have been published here in this desolate peninsula (Malaysian bookshops aren't the most up to date in the world, sadly).

I'm part of another totally awesome Warriors RPG but this site is equally mind-blowing. I've just spent about two hours reading all of the guides and rules and stuff that were put up and I have to say I love this site's order. The guides were so detailed and everyone is friendly and the site in general is really organized. Kudos to everyone here! =D

Anyways I'm looking for someone to RP with so if anyone has a SnowClan cat and an open plot, or even just a border patrol to be enlarged, or going to dirtplace, or complaining about the annoying apprentices, or whatever, please just reply =D Thanks so much!

    Purrs,
    Lynxfire

Lover of cats, horses, animals in general, and BOOKS!

    Cat's Name: Lynxfire
    Cat's Age: 15 moons
    Gender: She-Cat
    Alliance: SnowClan
    Position: Warrior
    Appearance:
Lynxfire is a small cat – slight, but not wiry or fragile. Her fur is slightly longer than average, but not nearly as long as a Persian's. It is light gray, with darker tabby-pattern stripes underneath. Her muzzle is white and her eyes are a light green. She doesn't look stunningly beautiful, but neither is she ugly; her left ear is blemished, split at the end, and her pelt bears several small scars. She has a good build for hunting, but not fighting. She has long claws.
Personality:
Lynxfire looks gentle and kind, but she isn't! She has an amazingly short temper and often has no tact whatsoever. She easily picks fights with her own Clanmates, and this is why she has a substantial number of scars on her gray pelt. However, Lynxfire's temper is not ill-used. She has a very strong sense of justice and doesn't hold with nastiness or unfairness. She herself always upholds great integrity, never doing anything wrong if she can help it; but she always fails to see that her own opinion may not always be the absolutely correct one! With her strong morals, sharp tongue, and short temper, she is loved by some and despised by others – but most of her Clanmates have learned not to take her tantrums seriously any more.
History:
OOC - I haven't found Lynxfire any parents yet >< Will try to as soon as possible, but I'm not sure who's willing.

IC - As Lynxkit, this fiery young cat got into lots of mischief, often because she didn't think much of the warriors and elders. She was always contradicting everyone there was to contradict, and she was quite intolerable. This stubbornness was somewhat tamed in her apprenticehood, when punishments got more severe, and so her rudeness was slightly diminished. But her sense of self-assurance remained.

In the apprentices' den, she met a young tom named Briarpaw. He was almost her polar opposite, and he was timid and fair enough so that he didn't fight much with Lynxpaw. They became fast friends.

Lynxpaw's temperament led to her being named Lynxfire, and Briarpaw became Briarfrost. As new junior warriors, they are still finding their place in the Clan.
Roleplay Sample:
Lynxfire bounced out of camp a few tail-lengths ahead of the rest of the hunting patrol, her paws full of energy. Greenleaf was in full spring, and she was well-fed and in her prime. She was itching to get into the forest and sink her long claws into some fresh-kill. Glancing backwards, she clawed the soft earth in frustration. The patrol were moving slower than the slowest mice!

Briarfrost purred in amusement. "Slow down, Lynxfire! No prey's going to outrun you at the rate you're going, so stop fidgeting." He padded lazily along, enjoying the birdsong and reveling in the absence of the worry and anxiety that clung to every Clan during the cruel months of leaf-bare. Now they had full bellies and warm nests to sleep in. The only downside is that Lynxfire has got all her energy and temper back! he thought to himself; but he knew he wouldn't ever have her any other way.

Lynxfire narrowed her green eyes in impatience, but even she couldn't bring herself to be bad-tempered in this weather, and Briarfrost knew it. With a small sigh, she sheathed her claws and walked on beside her purring friend, her pelt brushing his.
Comments/Other:
I hope this was good enough! >< Thanks for taking the time to read haha.

    Cat's Name: Briarfrost
    Cat's Age: 14 moons
    Gender: Tom
    Alliance: SnowClan
    Position: Warrior
    Appearance:
Briarfrost is small, and he is built for fighting. He has big, strong paws that can knock the breath out of any cat, but his weight makes him clumsier than most cats in hunting. His pelt is a reddish, dark-brown coat of long hair. He has stripes running all over his body. His eyes are big and a dark shade of amber. Looks aren't exactly on his side; he just looks like an ordinary, plain tom.
Personality:
Briarfrost is shy and reserved, but he has a quiet dignity about him, and he believes that all cats have good in them. He has great insight, seeing all the sides in every problem. This makes him very indecisive, and often his Clan accuses him of being disloyal because he can't help sticking up for the other Clans when he sees that they are being reasonable.

He is too timid for his own good, so his insight is wasted because he keeps to himself. He will talk only to cats he is very close to; when other cats are near, he gets quite nervous and tongue-tied. He is introverted and prefers to listen to conversation rather than add to it. Because of this, many cats think he is stupid and has no ideas, or just rude or snobbish.

He frustrates his Clanmates with his quietness; he can't be a good friend to anyone because of his deplorable social ineptitude. But in familiar company, he's as playful as a kit.
History:
OOC - Haven't got parents yet. Sorry! >< Will try to get someone as soon as possible, if they are willing.

IC - Briarkit was born quiet. As a kit, he mostly listened to his mother's stories and the elders' tales. He often lay in his warm den in the nursery, just thinking and contemplating. Because he never really wanted to play with the other kits, he became a loner.

As an apprentice Briarpaw was still a loner, and in the apprentices' den without his mother and his siblings, he suddenly felt lonely, for the first time. He tried to be friendly to the others, but he was scared of them. He made friends with Lynxpaw, another apprentice who was older by only a moon, and because they were both friendless – she because of her temper, and he because of his shyness – they became fast friends.

Lynxpaw gradually changed him; he learned to stick up for himself, and speak up for what was right. As Lynxfire and Briarfrost, they are still learning from each other.
Roleplay Sample:
(This is from my first Bio, of Lynxfire.)

I agree entirely with Wildheart. Well said! =]

I don't think the dog or Kenpachi was at fault. They were both on the defensive (the dog for his territory and the cat for his life). So yeah. Don't put him down D= Nu!

As for the staying inside thing though, I don't entirely agree. I admit they wreak havoc on the neighborhood ecosystem (my cat, Zilly, warrior name Sandstripe, brings back lizards, mice, rats, birds, bats, cockroaches, and all sorts of other things, including huge green thingamabobs that look like very slimy snakes with legs) but think of the poor cats. They should be allowed to play outside. My cat gets really restless if she has to stay in all day. But I guess it depends... my neighborhood is quiet, but in a noisy city animals should stay in, else they get squished by monsters, ie cars. So... I dunno.

(Briarfrost's indecisiveness came from me. =.= haha)

But that's just my opinion. And if you know me, my opinion is worth practically nothing xD I'm a mouse-brain. Anyways, congrats about Kenpachi being cleared =D He doesn't deserve to be put down.

xD You're welcome. Yeah. I was asking my mom if I could get a Guinea Pig or a Hamster... she said no because of the noise.

Hahaha my sister Zara has got two hamsters and it's not them that makes the noise, it's their running-wheel! They run on it the whole night long and it squeaks like crazy =P

haha my cat forgot me when I went to Sabah and she tried to claw my eyes out! But after awhile she was fine so yeah. Don't worry about it. I was so sad when I realized she didn't recognize me ><

I understand that you earn fresh-kill when you post in an In-Character RP board (is that right?) but I've been posting on the OOC boards (my characters haven't been accepted yet, I'm new). Should my post number be increasing? How come it's still at zero?

    Sorry, quite clueless here ><

    =edit=
Sorry for repeating this question! I read the "I am sooo confused" thread but I still don't get it... most of the people I see have un-synchronized post counts (their post count is not double their fresh-kill count) so I'm still confused ><

Sorry for being such a mouse-brain D= Like a kit just out of the nursery haha.

OH! I get it now - the reason why some post counts and fresh-kill counts are not proportionate is because they helped the Admins and got extra fresh-kill right?

    And, thanks Wildheart! =D

Haha don't worry, I love long posters =P I do it myself. In real life I don't talk much but as soon as I touch a keyboard, I can chatter like crazy. And thanks!

Yeah, I can tell... I've been on a few hours, and I'm sucked in already. xD I don't know much yet but I can already tell this site is a good one. (And heck, you've got members aplenty =O)

Why thank you =D Nawh, I'm okay I guess, but not great. Haha =] Your grammar is a lot better than most too. ;D

Oooh, lucky you! My parents don't like ordering stuff online so I don't get to do the Amazon thing. And it costs more, right? o.O And Malaysian ringgit isn't exactly the biggest currency around. ><

Cool! If you're not too busy I could RolePlay with your SnowClan cat. I wanted to join SnowClan to see what it was like in a Clan with no pre-Erin Hunter-set stereotypes. Is it very confusing, or do you enjoy the freedom?

Haha yeah the timezones are really annoying. I used to get up at 4 in the morning just to catch some people online xD Well, apart from cats and horses I've got no favoritism really. I love all animals =D They're all so wonderful. They can be amazing, or magnificent, or cute, or cool, or weird, or whatever! I've decided to dedicate my life to helping them out of their current crisis. But the only thing I do well is writing, so I'll have to work out how I can help with words.

Mammals and birds are adorable! Fuzzy and feathery things xD But what's wrong with reptiles and amphibians and fish? They're cool too =P

Trail rides! *Goes green with envy* I don't have horses of my own – I go to a riding school. The horses there are mostly retired racehorses, which I think is great! I can't ride to save my life though. And the fact that I keep getting grounded by my mom is no help either =[ What's trail riding like?

Our tastes are different =P What are those books like? I love Meg Cabot too, her books are so... well... I don't know. She manages to include all the stuff that's generally in chic-lit (the bad type) and throw in completely weird stuff (like ghosts and witches and princesses) and make it sound so easy, and then write great books out of that. I like old classics, and people like Salman Rushdie, Roald Dahl, TH White, EB White. But I read just about anything =D New stuff is always interesting. I liked Lionboy, Molly Moon, Inkheart, and stuff. Anf of course, Warriors =P

Sorry it took ages to reply! xD I was figuring things out. Off to look at more boards now, before my parents come shoo me off the computer. I'm in quarantine, but I have school online =.= My mom wants me to sleep at nine thirty every day. Is that outrageous or is it not?!

Thanks for replying by the way =D I know some people from my old RP who hate newbies...

Grand Supreme Overlord (xD): Awesome! =D

Definitely. Not exactly 12 posts, but wayyy more welcoming than I'd expect from any site =D I hope I do recognize names... there are so many! I feel like Millie coming into ThunderClan for the first time, unnerved by the number of cats around. But they're very nice cats. =P

Yay, fellow writers! I first RolePlayed when I was 11 but I stopped. I'm working on a story right now but it's quite hard because it's set in Canada and so I have lots of research to do =D But that's where the fun is! Can I see some of your work? Short stories or whatever? Pleeease? =D

I know what that feels like! I feel like if I don't read that book my reading is incomplete or something. For example, the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. I HAD to read it because it was a gem in literature. Not reading it would be something like a piano student not knowing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by WA Mozart.

Headed off? Where? :o You grew up on a boat! :o Wowza! Why? What's it like? What did you do? How did you go to school and stuff? Haha sorry, very fascinated here. xD I mean, that's so cool! I just grew up by a lake haha.

Ooh I remember going snorkeling in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, when I was like 10. It was fun :D The waves kept filling up my snorkel but it was worth it :o What's a Ghost Knife Fish? My dad used to have a roughly 3-foot aquarium and he made a mistake by introducing some tiger fish thingy to the little ecosystem and that pair ate up every other fish in it :o And then they started killing each other. My cat caught one and brought it up to my brother's bedroom and put it beside his pillow!! Imagine waking up to THAT! When you say work, what specifically do you mean? From what I gather, it's super cool :D

Haha here we have Nab, who shies at quivering leaves, and grumpy ol' Gary, and Little Red who bites and kicks, and Billy who's perpetually starving, and Thong Dee the sweet stallion, and Strawberry and Pickles the Shetlands, and Buzz the gentle giant who carries toddlers! They are all absolutely adorable. I'd love to go trail riding one day in a boreal forest like the ones the Warriors live in. *Wistful look*

That's strange – I've never seen any Pine Hollow books here in Malaysia! I'll be sure to look out for them, but I usually scan every single shelf. We do have Phantom Stallion and Black Stallion though, by the Farleys. (I remember begging my parents to buy me a copy in Australia when I went to Brisbane once! We'd gone on holiday in a caravan thingamabobbie. It was FUN! I remember Tin Can Bay and the dolphins :o) My usual bookstores are Kinokuniya and Borders at The Curve. Is Pine Hollow Australian?

I'm in quarantine not because I am sick but because my school has been shut down and we're all supposed to self-quarantine because we might be carriers of Influenza A. >< I still go to school, though – my school, Cempaka Schools, is technology-crazy, so we're having lessons on Skype. Skype! The poor teachers can't control the students. =P I don't really have a regular schedule for being online – I just moved and lived without internet from October 2008 to yesterday! So I've been away from the online world for really long, and I don't have a regular time for being online ^^

I don't watch very many movies, actually! Neither do I watch many TV shows. In fact, I can count the number of shows I've watched: House, Drake and Josh, and Teen Titans, all of which I watched before I turned 12. Now I don't watch TV at all except for about twice a month when I'd watch a documentary my dad downloaded (I recently watched one on Blue Whales. It was amazing!) or a movie that my brother got. (He showed me Twilight.) Animal Planet is cool too. But I watch TV so seldom that I need help turning the stupid thing on. Computer games is a different story, however. I'm a Sims addict. Well, I used to be and then I stopped, but recently my dad downloaded The Sims 3 and I'm pretty much hooked. Last week, my brother taught me to play Halo, and that's really fun too xD But I haven't quite got the hang of that game. What about you?

Meowool: Whoah, 9 pm is even worse. :o And yeah, I'm waiting for Inkdeath and Tales of Beedle the Bard to come out in paperback here, and it's been ages! And thanks! ^^

Zinnie: Hello Zinnie! A year is a long time :o You must be very good :P And yes please! I'm still waiting for my cats to get accepted but once they do I'll have a thread with Briarfrost and Lynxfire.

I LOVE nerds :D Haha! Ooh I have two dogs, one is a Bloodhound named Zedeki and one is a cocker spaniel named Zestina. My cat is named Zilly. My sister's hamsters are called Zippitoo and Zappitoo. =D

Thank you!! And I already am. ^^

    Lynxfire, SnowClan She-Cat, Pines:
    ?topic=25658

A dark russet-brown tom padded toward the lake, trying to be as quiet as possible. He wasn't the best hunter in the Clan, and he resented this, so he was determined to practice stalking whenever he got the chance. He had just finished prowling quietly through the bushes and, pleased with himself, he decided to go for a swim.

Briarfrost liked swimming. The cool water tugged at his thick fur and took an age to dry up afterward, but despite that he still enjoyed the gentle currents and diving suddenly into the lake to catch fish. Today he was going to see what he could bring back for his Clan – Greenleaf meant food aplenty, and he was going to make as much use of it as possible while it lasted.

With a loud purr of enjoyment, he slipped into the lake, warmer now than it had been during Newleaf because the sun overhead warmed the waters. He began to paddle quietly along the lake, at peace with the world.

Lynxfire let out a hiss of frustraion as a bird overhead shrieked a loud alarm call and flew away into the sky. Clawing fiercely at the ground, she cursed her gray pelt. It stands out like a fox in the nursery, she thought, annoyed. What is the use of my hunting skills if my pelt gives me away?

She almost wished for leaf-bare again – almost, but not quite. Even though during leaf-bare her gray pelt blended better with the snow-covered ground, and the crunch of snow was better muffled than the cracking of twigs in greenleaf, she knew she'd choose greenleaf any day. After all, better hunting conditions came with less prey anyway. Life is fair.

She realized what she had just thought and let out a snort of disgust. Fair? There was no such thing!

At the corner of her eye she spotted a puddle of wet, sticky brown mud, and an idea occurred in her mind. She recoiled in disgust at the thought of rolling in the mud until her fur was as brown as the ground and her scent was the same as the earth's... but if it got her more prey, wouldn't it be worth it?

Briarfrost heard Tidalkit's meow and, had he been on land, would have launched himself a few fox-tails into the air in surprise. Being in the position he was, he simply did a stupid-looking flail in the water, overturned himself, and broke the surface spluttering, coughing, and looking utterly undignified.

He got his bearings, sneezed, and looked around for the source of the meow. When he saw the tiny kit, his dark amber eyes stretched wide, and then blinked. The shy warrior didn't visit the nursery much, but still he recognized those blue eyes and that creamy blue-tinged fur. "Tidalkit!" he meowed, and coughed up another mouthful of water. He remembered that kits weren't allowed out of the nursery, and he narrowed his eyes, trying to look stern. But that was not the easiest of things to do when you had just upturned yourself in a lake and your face was dripping wet. Smooth, he thought to himself. Really spiffy. Great way to earn respect from kits.

Trying to compose himself, he waded back to shore and stood, shaking the water out of his fur. He couldn't bring himself to be at all strict – he was fond of kits. "What are you doing here?" he asked, more out of curiosity than concern. Tidalkit didn't look scared at all, only excited. "Where's your mother?" he added.

    Whoa... loads of replies =P

Formal: Thanks! And I think I am – it depends on how much fun you're having xD I'm probably having more fun than you are. o.O

Wildheart: Ooh! Which reminds me, I have to hurry up and do my signature and avatar. I already prepared them, actually, but Photobucket is not cooperating >:(

It's about Tessa and Andy and how they change each other as they try to save the wildlife in their area and stuff. And two kid gangs, the Canines and the Felines. Lynxfire and Briarfrost are based on them, actually, 'cause I thought while I'm plotting the book I might as well get some writing and character development practice in xD

Hah! A week or two! I'm done with all of them already =P I like Angel's Wings best o.O The Countdown is really nice too! I could do with a countdown. Make me hurry up and accomplish something before I die xD Very Early, Even was nice, but I don't understand who V is =P And what's a Lupe? Did you know one of your characters has my name? I'll let you guess xD I love your writing! The only thing that's wrong with it is, there are a few typos =P I wish I could write well, too. My style of writing isn't what you'd call conventional OR good D= And I haven't written half as much as you have.

Pet shop sounds fun! I wish there were more pet shops in Malaysia which care about the pets T^T I want to do stuff in a nice caring zoo maybe (like the Australia Zoo, I LOVE that place =O I went there on the trip) or even better, a sanctuary.

That sounds funnn =D What was the boat called? It reminds me of one book I read from Scholastic, called Dolphin Diaries. Meant for a much younger audience but still really good, like the Enid Blyton book Evey was reading before V came home =P I like boats, but I'm skeptical about commercial boats here in Malaysia because of the stuff I've heard about the motors killing lots of marine life, and I don't know who I can trust to be responsible about that. Malaysia's a developing country.

Haha that's one thing I like about Malaysia more than I do about Australia... rainforests rule! Could do without the leeches and things, but I love the giant and really leafy trees, and the awesome flowers.

You haven't heard of Skype? =O Maybe it's only big in Malaysia. Skype is this chat thing, kind of like an IM thingy, but it mainly does webcam thingies and voice calls. I use MSN more though haha. We have an online school as well, called the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment). It's immensely annoying. Teachers now give twice the amount of homework they used to because the administration can monitor their classes and stuff. *Sigh* This is why I dread my birthdays.

Yep, I did like Twilight xD It's a fun break from what I usually read. The soppy "You are everything to me" and "I'd die without you" and "I love you more than anything else in the world" stuff is all drama! Any other author would not get away with it, their book would be labeled trashy and melodramatic, but Stephenie Meyer somehow makes it work, and extremely well too. I'm not rabid either though ;D

Haha my dad, being overseas a lot, actually downloaded Sims 3 in speedy-internet Sweden. I was like :o :o :o
Never heard of Impossible Creatures, but I'll look out for it! Though I already have way too many video games. What with Role-Playing and writing and piano and school and riding and stuff, I don't need a third game for entertainment! =P

Huntress: Hello Huntress! I see your name lots on here. (Wildheart is right =O) What's being homeschooled like? What are you reading in the meantime? And what do you mean by "single-minded"? o_O Yay, lots of horse lovers here =D

Mortal Instruments? Wait, I have a book called Mortal Engines... are they related??

2 in the morning! I wish I were you! Haha I wish my parents didn't care how late I stayed up. Right now I have school so I don't stay up that late, but once during the December holidays of 2006 or something, I was online from 2100 to 0700!! The WHOLE night! And then I got right up and pretended I'd slept. (I fell asleep at like 9 that night though xD)

Wolfygirl: Hello! I hope we can Role-Play sometime, too =D I love it here! You're from England? =O Awesome. Oh I had a friend from England once xD He was a bit crazy but he was fun!

Shalaesaes: Hello! Actually I do have a question =P How do I apply for an apprentice? Lynxfire is supposed to mentor Shadowkit (RPed by Ace). I filled out the form thingy from Greenleaf Ceremonies. Is that right? o_O

I'm both a literature nerd and a math nerd! I LOVE maths! Especially geometry stuff, they're like puzzles. But I've been getting stupider lately from lack of sleep =( Still, Maths and Science are my favorite subjects. Haha I get in trouble for reading every other day xD I almost got my copy of Warriors: Sunset confiscated by my stupid History teacher *Glare* Your reading range is cool! I read completely different books o.O I like the classics the best though.

I already am =P And thank you! I'm in south-east Asia so I'd be quite a few hours ahead of you =D

Meowool: No, I don't o_O But wait, does it matter? But wait again, I don't understand the high school and middle school system thingamabob. Here we just have primary, secondary, and tertiary. Tertiary being university. How old exactly do you have to be to count as a high-schooler?? Sorry, I'm DUMB

Zinnie: Awesome! My real name is a Z name too =D What do you mean by Zheniya in Russia and Zee in real life? o_O

Aww, so modest =P Looking forward to it!

    Hello Flick! ;D

Huntress, why is this site a bad first RP site? o_O I think it's an awesome one, because new members won't get lost and lose interest what with this site being so welcoming (I'm new, and I didn't imagine that anyone would reply to my Introduction thread, but the replies flooded in). So they'd get a good start. But you know better – why isn't it?
