Whirlpool walked towards a part of the pit that she hadn't played in yet. She rolled over, but as she stood up, she realised that her paws were sinking. She struggled, until her belly fur touched the mud. "Help!" she yowled.

Sandpaw took the last bite of mouse and turned to Sunset. She started to lick her flank, sharing tongues with her.

IC: Lightningstorm padded into the nursery.

Whirlpool struggled again, but she was still sinking, and she was already getting tired. "Please, help me! I'm sinking!"

"Really? Wow!" Sandpaw exclaimed.

Whirlpool continued to sink, and panic burnt through her. She spotted the cat rushing to help her, and relief flooded through her. Thank StarClan! she thought.

Whirlpool sank, and tried to heave herself out of the mud, but she only sank deeper. She hoped that the cat who was coming forward to help her would be quick.

"Three new warriors for her Clan!" Sandpaw mewed. She was happy about the new life, but the thought that she might have to battle this kits made a feeling of regret run through her. She pushed it away. Her first loyalty was to FrostClan.
Firepool slept in her nest.

"Thank you!" Whirlpool gasped, relieved that she was out of the mud. Now she knew not to go in that patch of mud anymore. She shoud stick to the middle of the pit from now on.

IC: Nightflash padded out of the den. "Rosethorn?" she called. "Could you lead a border patrol? Take a few other cats with you, and go where you like, just check as much of the border as you can. I'll lead a hunting patrol. Now who wants to go hunting?"

Pebblekit yowled in terror as she landed in the hole.

Whirlpool rolled in the mud, and then started splashing mud everyway.

Pebblekit flattened her ears onto her head, and closed her eyes in fear. What will they do to us? she thought. What will they do?

Whirlpool rolled in the mud, and flung pawfuls of the sticky, brown mud through the air.

"Autumfur, perhaps you could go on the border patrol with Rosethorn? Unless you want to come hunting with me?" Nightflash mewed.

Whirlpool saw the fox and dodged it's strong blow. She let a yowl of terror and suprise escape from her, and she backed away, splashing through the mud.
