Character Name: Aurorastare (Aurora -> Aurorakit -> Aurorapaw -> Aurorastare)
Character Age: 10 Moons
Gender: She-cat
Alliance: RiverClan
Rank: Apprentice age
Appearance: Aurorastare's pelt is short, shiny and incredibly soft. She is a brown tabby with bold black markings on her pelt. Her classic tabby features are something twolegs would call 'show cat quality'. Ever since she was a kit, her eyes have been blazing teal-aqua. She was named for her eyes and their resemblance to the auroras that can sometimes be seen dancing on Silverpelt. She is small in stature, but muscular. Her sinewy limbs make her appear weaker than she is.
Personality: Aurorastare is hesitant to befriend others. She is wary of intentions of her clanmates ever since running away from the rogue clan she was born to. When she trusts another cat, she becomes a steadfast and true friend, willing to stay by their side at any length. She can be overly critical of others and is impatient when her fellow apprentices don't seem to take their training as seriously as she does. She is quick to anger, but avoids confrontation whenever she can. She means as well as any betrayed can could. She wants to be playful and youthful like her fellow apprentices, but she finds it hard to not always be on guard. She is eager to learn and has a sharp tongue. She would rather be hunting than socializing, since she can be along to thing when hunting. Someday she knows she will find another cat who will be able to crack her hard shell. She just hopes she is ready for when that time comes.
---Likes: hunting, observing, training, medicine cattery
--- Dislikes: false friendships, laziness, when people comment on her beauty
---Strengths: catching rabbits, one on one battle, speed and balance
---Weaknesses: mistrust, anger, stubbornness
History: Aurorastare is not originally from RiverClan. She was kitted in a rogue clan and raised like a warrior from the time she could stand on her own four paws. This rogue clan trained kits hard and thought nothing of losing a few along the way. Kits were being born every day - there would always be a replacement.
Aurorastare's (then she was just Aurora) mother was protective of her, trying to keep her by her side as long as possible before the rogue cats took her for training. "When you find a way, leave. Leave and don't come back. Your life can be so much more," he mother said to her one night. Aurorastare was strong and knew the rogue ways were ruthless, but she didn't want to leave her mother.
When she was five moons old, a battle broke out within the clan and Aurorastare watched her mother be attacked by a group of other queens. Frightened, she ran and never stopped. To this day she doesn't know whether her mother is alive or not, and this haunts her dreams.
Aurorastare wandered the forest for what felt like forever. She barely scraped by on the few bits of prey she could catch at her young age. A pile of skin and bones, she came to the river. She saw cats and scented that they were of a different clan. Determined and half-dead, she risked her first ever swim in the river... and made it. Swimming had come naturally to her. A few cats who had seen this helped pull the poor weak kit from the water and took her in. RiverClan's leader accepted her into the clan after hearing her story and the clan nursed her back to health. Many in the clan are still wary that she might be a spy, or that she might turn against them, but Aurorastare never wants to hear the word 'rogue' again.
Aurorastare was adopted into RiverClan as Aurora, renamed Aurorakit and then Aurorastare when she was apprenticed.
Roleplay Sample:
Aurorastare sat atop a large skeleton of a tree that had died many leafbares ago. Her eyes fixed on a kit wandering the forest floor, no doubt playing warriors and attackers with its fellow kits. She wished her first moons had been so carefree. Seeing the playful jubilation in the kits eyes made Aurorastare's heart ache. She was apprenticed now, and thankfully by a cat she knew she could trust. She just couldn't help but feel as though she had missed some of the best moons of her still young life. Shouldn't all kits be able to wander and play in their clan?
Yes, she thought. My life before was not normal. This new life here in RiverClan... this is normal.
Aurorastar knew she had been a part of RiverClan for as many moons as she has been with the former rogue clan, but part of her wondered if she would ever be able to heal from those first moons in those horrible, evil paws.
