Autumnpaw licked her ear comfortingly. Amid the hiss of the wind, he heard a new sound. Voices of...of...cats!! He raced ahead, tasting the air, then pelted back to Mistpaw. 'Listen!' He yowled.

And suddenly, to him, the water seemed like a weak tide; a lazy, lapping tide, worthlessly nipping at the Warrior cats paws.

ooc: cooool show me how! xx

IC: Tumblepaw heard a yowl deep down in the depths of his dream. Rising, rising...His eyes snapped open. That yowl was real; clear and loud in the silent forest.

He scrabbled to his paws and pelted through the forest blindly, stumbling against bracken with the wind, which seemed to come from nowhere, thrashing his fur back. He smelt blood. Fresh.

The apprentice darted through the trees, now sure of his nose, like a black shadow; merging into the dark undergrowth.
And as he sprang through the bushes, his eyes widened and his fur bristled in horror.

His two best friends...how? He let out a silent wail, as he glimsped the blood...the still fur.

He raised his eyes to the glittering stars. 'Why?', he yowled.'Starclan why have you punished me? What have I done? Why them?

    Why kill them?'

Tumblepaw nealy lept out of his fur as he heard the sigh. He was sure that wasn't wind.

He crept closer to his friends, leaping lightly around the blood. 'Streampaw'? He murmered. His eyes were alight with relief and gratitude as he saw the rise and fall of his friend's breathing, though a crust of dried blood caked her head.

But Silentpaw...tumblepaw heard muffled sobs from somewhere in Streampaw's fur. 'Silentpaw!' He mewed, sinking to the ground in exhaustion. 'It's ok', he mewed. Thank Starclan.

    Starclan?

    'Sorry starclan', he muttered sheepishly.

Tumblepaw took a paw step back, as his friend rose, dripping with blood.

    'You...no..no you haven't..' He faltered.

Dark spots flared beneath his eyes as he struggled to breath. Silentpaw was a murderer? Then he realised. If it was true, this cat was dangerous, a killer...Slowly his lip curled and a snarl broadened in his throat as he unsheathed his claws...

ooc: LOVE your new thing! Is rosefur her new mentor and do you mean never not ever? av gd weekend snooba you got to get it in your your snet it and poo baa! lol xx

Autumnpaw looked at the ground. 'R-really?' He stammered. 'Oh. I thought it was because we're meant to be together, that's all', he murmered, embarressed.

    ooc: LoLLL!

Tumblepaw growled. 'And why should I believe you?' He spat. 'I saw everything, but you won't tell me everything. Don't worry, the stench of the blood will summon the medicine cat, silentpaw. I'm not leaving you with her.'

He swiftly padded to Silentpaw and with narrowed eyes, a tail length away, helped chew up the rest of the leaves, thrashing his tail from side to side.

Autumnpaw licked her affectionatly. 'What a mousebrain I am!' He murmered.

A michevious glint appeared in his eye. 'Of course I knew what you meant.

I mean, your so clear and understandable.'

He flicked Mistpaw's ear with his tail and flipped onto his back, playfully.

Tumblepaw stumbled to his paws, surprised. She hadn't even hurt him yet she'd thrown him of easily.

Foxdung! You let a she cat beat you! He thought, furious at his stupidity.

With force, he let his fur lie flat again. 'You'll find I do care a lot more about Streampaw than you know-'

He stopped, embarassed, then regained his composure 'A lot more than you, if
you did this to her...' He bared his teeth.

'Anyway, if you touch her or call me a mouse brained fool ever again-'

He spun round and vanished into the undergrowth.

Tumblepaw urged his tired paws to move faster. He pelted into camp. 'MEDICINE CAT!' He yowled desperatly, barging past the elders who muttered furiously. 'Young cats these days!'

The medicine cat sprang out of his den, eyes alight with worry. 'What is it?'

'My friend-shes bleeding-quick....' He hissed. The older cat spun round and vanished into the den, reappearing with some herbs. Tumblepaw raced away with out a word, with Streampaw's help hot on his tail.

He hoped it wasn't too late...

ooc: lars, hey PHE!, how do you upload a picture thing like you have from photoshop to this site? (have done layout but don't know how to get it here)

ic: Tumblepaw winced as his friend winced. 'Sorry? You could have died! Don't ever do that again..you scared the life out of me...', his voice dropped to a murmur..'you could have died, Streampaw', he repeated, stroking her side with his tail.

ooc: oh! I know where this is going silentpaw! :-*

Longwhisker dashed out of camp. Oakfeather had just run like a load of badgers were chasing him.

Where is Tumblepaw? He thought. He cast about for scents. There! Oakfeather's smell lay through the trees. Longwhisker followed it and burst through the trees. He stopped in astonishment at the group of cats. 'Oakfeather?...'

Tumblepaw kneaded his paws against the ground. 'I wonder where Silentpaw is', he muttered.

He helped press more cobwebs on Streampaw.

'That's about all we can do', the medicine cat declared. 'Help her to camp, she needs some rest.' he mewed sternly. Tumblepaw rolled his eyes. 'Do you?' he asked Streampaw.

Longwhisker shook his head, bewildered. ''What was all that about?'' he asked Oakfeather. 'Young cats need to know about rivalry; mind you, her friends have also been missing a lot of training-they just don't know these things!'

Tumblepaw stopped. 'Um Streampaw..I've got to go, I'm worried about Silentpaw-the last thing I said to her was, well..anyway, don't do anything stupid and please be careful!' He gave her quick friendly lick and whisked away.

As he padded into camp, he felt his paws were dropping off. He fetched a squirrel and a mouse from the pile and wearily entered the den. He curled up to eat. His moss was soggy. Only then did he hear the sobs. 'Silentpaw? Oh...I'm sorry...don't cry! Um, do you want this squirrel?' He pushed it towards her with his nose, his eyes wide with concern.

Tumblepaw's eyes widened in shock. He edged a little away. 'Silentpaw..you? Did you...', he couldn't finish, but stared at her in horror.

Longwhisker pointed with his tail to the soggy lump of fur. Even though tigerscar was tigerscar, he was still his clanmate. 'Do we take him back to camp?' He asked Oakfeather.

Tumblepaw sighed. 'She cats', he muttered, exasperated. 'I was only...I guess I didn't help.'

'And now shes whisked away, vunreble.' He shook his head.
He patted some moss down for Streampaw. 'I'll go get you some herbs.' He padded away, his tail drooping.

Longwhisker padded to Tigerscar and clenched his dark tabby fur in his teeth. 'A litkle helfp herfe', he muttered to Oakfeather, a slight glint of sadness in his eyes.
