Solitare lay still, her amber eyes searching Sofies. "You're the most amazing cat I've ever met." She said softly, curling closer to the cream she-cat. She twined her fluffy black tail around Sofies, and blushed slightly. Solitare knew that she and Sofie were just... "Meant to be." She looked at her paws, realising that she'd spoken out loud. She paused for a moment, deciding it best to clairfy to Sofie what she'd meant. "I think we are. Meant to be, I mean." Solitare placed a paw on Sofies shoulder. "We'll be together forever, right?"

Appleblossom paused momentarily, thinking through the process of fixing both a break and a dislocation. "Riverfeather, I need you here. Sorry, I guess you'll have to wait to see what Pebblestar was going to say." Appleblossom doubted that the she-cat wanted to leave anyway, there was a certain look in the young she cats' eyes, one that told Appleblossom that Riverfeather would make a fantastic medicine cat. "Right, are you sure you're up for this? It's not pleasant, I'm afraid. Not for anyone." Without waiting to hear the she-cats response, Appleblossom moved into position, placeing a paw delicatly on the tiny cats hip, and other just avove the break. "When you're ready, grab her foot in your teeth, and when I say go, pull. Hard, till you hear a 'click'."

Emberheart looked at his little daughter, tears welling in his eyes. He decided it best to leave, he didn't think he could cope with anything more today. Instead, he stumbled outside, and sat below the highrock, staring vacantly off into the distance.

Amberkit couldn't sleep, she felt all... Fidgety. Wriggling about, she planted a small ginger foot firmly in her brothers side. "I want... Mama!" She shrieked.

OCC: You like? I used Photobucket, to be honest. :)
And, also, after much delibration, I have decided this will be Emberhearts 'Theme song':

Emberheart sat next to Pebblestar, wrapping his tail around Amberkit, who was squeaking angriy. "I want my sister!" She squealed. A sharp pain in his chest, Emberheart looked at Pebblestar with desperate eyes. "I can't believe this is happening. Not to her, not to my daughter!" He crouched down, covering his face with a paw. "Pebblestar, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault."

Emberheart sighed deeply. "Pebblestar... Please, dont try to make me feel better about this. Our daughter will never know what its like to be a proper warrior, she'll never learn to hunt or fight properly! She'll never feel the joy that all warriors get as they provide for their clanmates." Emberheart looked away. "All because of that filthy piece of crow food." He let out a small sigh, and turned to Flamingpaw. "Now is as good a time as any. Head out into the forest, and show me what you already know. But dont get stressed, I don't exepct you to be warrior material just yet." He smiled, and headed out the entrance with the young tom.

Appleblossom didn't look up at Riverfeather, instead, she focused her attention on Petalkits leg. "Well done, the break seems to be fitting back together well. But she'll always have a limp, nothing we can do about that, I'm afraid." She smiled grimly, and stroked the kits ears with her her soft, snowy tail. "You're doing great little one," she purred "But, I have to fix your hip, I'm sorry. It'll be quick and won't hurt, I promise." Taking a deep breath, she swiftly moved her paws into position. Counting to three in her head, she pushed down on the dislocation with expert skill, and the hip fit back into placed with a loud click, followed by a small grinding sound. "Riverfeather? I need you to report to Pebblestar that Petalkit is doing well, but she will need to spend the night in my den." She nodded, scooping up the half asleep kit in her jaws. "Oh, and you'll probaly want to gather some moss, for your new den. Tomorrow afternoon, I take you to meet Starclan." With a flick of her tail, Aplleblossom padded into her den, carefully laying the kit down.

Solitare sighed, she was perfectly happy here. She considered telling Sofie so, but a sudden gust of cold wind quickly changed her mind. She fluffled out her black and white fur, and stood up, looking around for something to make a nest out of. "Hold on!" She said to Sofie quietly, skipping away into denser undergrowth. She returned moments later, mouth stuffed with feathers and bits of moss. "I've th-ot the bedding." She mumbled, sending a few white feathers for her load drifting to the ground. "You hu-ind a lace to rest. I'll hollow..." She hoped Sofie got the gist of her ramblings, and waited with her head turned on the side.

Solitare followed, dumping her load of feathers and moss, and tucking them around Sofie, building a comfy nest. She lay down beside her, and after a moments hesitation, reached over and wrapped her tail around Sofies. "I love you, Good night."

((OCC: Sorry I haven't been on for so long! I've been sick! >_<))

"Into my den, the medicine cats den." Appleblossom said quietly. "You need your rest, little one." She placed Petalkit gently into the softest nest she had, made mostly of feathers and some moss. "I'll be right next to you, so wake me if you need anything." She nodded, mostly to herself, and sat down in her nest, waiting for Riverfeather.

Emberheart though for a moment, "Why don't you show me some hunting moves?" He flicked his tail towards a mouse rustling close by. "Don't worry about perfection, just show me what you can do." He encouraged the tom gently.

((OCC: I'm so sorry! I've been sick, and couldn't get on.))

"Woah, slow down a tad there." Emberheart piped forward, standing beside the tom, he rested his tail on Flamingpaws shoulder. "Remember, nice can hear your paw steps, to hunt them, you must note swiftly, and quietly." He pressed himself to the ground, moving stealthily across the forest floor towards a fat wood mouse. Not breaking his stride, he launched himself forward, snatching up the mouse and breaking its neck in one fluid motion. He padded forward, placing the mouse beneath the roots of a huge oak tree. "Remember, we give thanks to Starclan for the lives of our prey." He lifted his head gently, scenting the breeze. "There, try to catch that water vole on the riverbed." Emberheart angled his ears towards a fat vole, shambling around the waterside, amongst the reeds. "Stay downwind, and stay between it and the river." He advised.

"Well done! Well done!" Emberheart called down to his apprentice. "Seems you're a natural born hunter," he said happily, "But.. Can you fight?" Without so much as a flick of his ears, Emberheart launched himself onto the riverbank, crouched down in a slightly aggressive stance. "What would you do?" He questioned causally, stepping forward slightly. "Consider your strengths, and how to use them against me." He paused, stepping sideways, flicking his tail. "I'm much bigger, and more experienced. But look! I have an old injury!" He gestured dramtically to his damaged back foot. "Remember, you are much quicker than me, use that to your advantage. Show me what you can do!" He crouched lower, tail whisking along the ground.

((OCC: I'm getting better! Sucks that you're sick though! >_<))

"Ha! Nice try! But I'm afraid you've taken my advice the wrong way!" Emberheart crouched breifly, than threw himself up, sending the apprentice tumbling to the ground with ease. He waited for a second, allowing the dust to clear, than knelt down beside Flamingpaw. "That was the wrong move, only attack another cat head on if you're sure you can beat them. Me? I'm much heavier than you, and much stronger. An actual opponant, if you jumped on them like that, would probably roll on you." He winced slightly. "You should have used your agility to your advantage. That is the single most important thing I can teach you: Always use your abilities to your advantage." He stood up, shaking the mud of his paws. "I'll show you the move you should've used. Pretend that stump is me." He darted forward, grabbing the front of the stump between his paws and biting down on it. He leapt away nimbly, dancing back and forth before attacking the back of the stump. He pushed his paws against it, pretending to flip it over. "Attack the front, confuse your opponent, than go for the back legs. Weaken your enemy than flip him over. Try it on me."

Solitare jolted awake to the sounds of Sofie and another she-cat talking close by. "Wha-" She stood up, shoulder fur bristling slightly. "Who is this?" She asked, slightly wary of the cat. She didn't remember coming here. All she remembered was waking up next to Sofie, and seeing a bear. "Wait..." She sat down, head turned on the side.

OCC: Sorry to miss things, guys! Could I get a quick re-cap, please?

Emberheart lifted his head, tasting the air. A faint whiff of his mate, Pebblestar reached him, and he straitened up, ears pricked. "You've done well. I think it's time to head home." He said to Flamingpaw, and he trotted ahead, reaching Pebblestar. He rubbed his cheek along her face, purring.

    OOC: ^-^ I have returned!

Emberheart pressed close to Pebblestar on the way back to camp, ignoring his apprentices' faces of disgust. He regarded the cats in camp quickly, and decided to follow Pebblestar into the medicine den, looking down at his crippled daughter with sad eyes. "How is she doing?" He asked Appleblossom.

Appleblossom looked up as the leader and deputy entered the den. "Just a second," She said to Riverfeather, flicking her tail at her apprentice. "Petalkit is recovering well from her minor injures, and from the stress. She has been having plently of nightmares, but that's to be expected, after... What happened." She paused before going on, trying to think of how to break the news gently. "But, Petalkit will be crippled for life. There is no way to heal her broken bones, and she will always walk with a limp, on both her back legs. I'm sorry, Pebblestar." She looked the she-cat in the eyes.

Emberheart stood next to Pebblestar, carrying her weight easily, he pressed closer to her. "It's ok." He muttered softly, turning and leading Pebblestar back to her den. "You really need some rest." He said, nosing her into her nest. "I'll bring you something to eat." He padded towards the fresh-kill pile, eyeing his apprentice suspiciously. "Who put ants in your nest?" He said, looking at his apprentice with narrowed eyes.

Appleblossom sighed as the two cats left, she turned to Riverfeather. "Are you sure you want to be a medicine cat?" She asked, her red eyes burning into the young she-cats. "This can't be something you decide without thought. I don't want you to turn around in a moon or so and decide you want to be a warrior again. So I need you to think, and take your time." She sat down, curling her tail over her front paws. "This is for the rest of you life. You most always put your clan first, and that means no mate, no kits. Can you live like that?"

Emberheart scoffed, "Well, aren't you a joy today?" He meowed, scooping up a fat squirrel from the pile and trotting off. He dropped the squirrel by Pebblestar, and gave her a quick lick on the cheek. "I'll be back later, I have to organise some hunting patrols." He skipped lightly down the rocks leading to Pebblestars den, and looked around the clearing, trying to decide what cats to take with him.

Appleblossom gave Riverfeather a long stare, her red eyes narrowed slightly. "If that is what you wish." She said, standing up. She gave a soft purr at the she-cats words, and turned around to check her supplies. "Go and get something to eat." She waved her new apprentice away, she needed time to think. Appleblossom couldn't explain it, all day she'd had this feeling.
It felt like... Something was wrong.

Amberkit woke up, stretching. "Ma-ma?" She whispered, looking around.

Emberheart stood in the middle of camp. He trotted over to Fallingmyth. "Would you be up for a hunt with me?" He asked, looking for more cats to take.
