"Maybe the 'overprotective pain in the butt'?" Shikon suggested as Alec stopped at Jace's feet. Her red eyes reflected the moonlight, seeming to glow. "I'd be worried, too, if you started disappearing in the middle of the night."

Shikon smirked. "The only person who would kill him, by the way, is me." She said to Alec, holding out a hand to help him to his feet. "Only if I caught him with another girl, of course."
-
"Sibling rivalry does exist..." Shikon muttered. Her eyes were drawn to the edge of the clearing, where she could just barely hear footsteps. "I'll be right back." She said before walking confidently into the shadows of the thick forest.
A large burly hand grabbed her from the darkness, pulling her back against a tree, holding a large dagger to her throat. "Move and you die, vampire." A voice said in her ear. Shikon wriggled out of the man's grip, and started running. The man gave chase, but Shikon was hungry, and too weak to run at full speed. She screamed as he grabbed a handful of her hair, pulling he to the ground. -
"Another one?" The slayer muttered, giving another good yank on Shikon's hair as she tried to pull away. She reeled on him, about to attack, but she noticed that he was holding a silver-tipped wooden stake at ready. She froze, attempting to figure out exactly what she should do. The slayer, whose name was Robert, didn't miss his chance. He had Shikon pinned in seconds, holding the stake to her chest. "I'll finish you quickly, since I didn't come prepared for two vampires." Shikon scowled, and having come up with a -sort of- plan, she reached for the small dagger that she always kept on her belt. Where's the dagger? She thought, panicking. She pulled a rubber band off her wrist, and shot the man in the eyes. Robert stumbled backwards, freeing her, holding a hand to his eye. Shikon got to her feet, and quickly jumped into a high tree, climbing from one branch to another, until she was safely on one the highest branch, away from the slayer. I'm too weak to fight him, She thought. I'm useless!
-
"You don't scare me, vampire." Robert said, though there was fear in his eyes. He wasn't really sure what to do, since he hadn't been informed about this vampire, only the girl. He knew nothing about Jace, and therefor had no plan on how he would kill him. His best chance was to run, and come back when he had information on Jace. So that's what he did: He ran like a scared little kid. "I'll come back for you!" He shouted behind him, but hoped that Jace wouldn't give chase.
Shikon slowly descended from the tree, perching on one of the lowest branches. She ran her hands along her entire belt, searching for her dagger. I can't believe I didn't bring it! I'm such an idiot! She thought. -
"I'm fine," Shikon said, hopping down from the branch. "I can't believe I forgot my dagger!" She hissed under her breath. She turned to Jace. "I'm sorry, normally I would've been able to fight him off, but..." Her voice trailed off, not wanting to admit that she was weak. "I must be off my game tonight." She finally said, giving a weak smile, but it was forced.
-
Shikon smiled, and rolled her eyes. "Where would he have gone? Maybe back home? Does he know about you?" She asked, walking over to Jace and leaning on him slightly. To someone watching, it would have looked like she was doing it as a sign of affection, but it was really a sign of how weak she was.
Robert froze, scowling. "A third, eh?" He said, gasping for breath from his run. "How many of you are there here?" He asked, holding his wooden stake at ready in case he tried to attack.
-
"Good, 'cause that slayer will probably mention it." She said, clinging to Jace. Two weeks wouldn't seem like a long time, but it had taken a toll on her, especially since the meal before that had been small. Plus the fact that she was used to feeding nightly, bi-nightly at the least.
Robert tilted his head, examining the boy before him. A vampire wouldn't have been out of breath at all, and would've run much faster than that. "You're...not a vampire, are you?" He asked, slowly taking a step towards Alec.
-
"What is it?" Shikon asked, walking beside him, worry on her face. She knew that this could either be something really, really bad or something incredibly awesome.
-
"What? Exactly how recently were you turned?" She asked, staring up at him with disbelief in her eyes.
"Nope." Robert said, turning and continuing to run, hoping to get out of the vampire-infested forest quickly.
-
Shikon went into her dressing room and changed into a pair of black cargo pants and a plain black t-shirt before walking back out into the forest, back to the clearing where the Slayers had held her. She picked up the inch thick braided rope that lay on the ground and carried it back to her cave, setting it down in her bedroom. Then she guided Buster out of the cave for a walk through the forest. I hope Jace is okay, She thought.
-
"Not much." Shikon said with a smirk. She turned to look at him and saw his black eye, and her eyes widened. "What happened?" She asked worriedly, walking over to him.
-
"Why didn't you stop somewhere to get ice?" Shikon reached to grab his wrist and stepped closer to him once more, not wanting him to step away.
((I...am so tired....I had a riding lesson today....and i had to canter around the arena like three times xD)) -
Shikon's shoulders slumped. "Why are you avoiding me?" She asked, refusing to keep away from Jace and stepping closer to him. The frustration in her voice was clear.
-
"But you won't stay close to me." Shikon pointed out, giving up finally. Her eyes fell, her entire demeanor changing. "Fine. I can take a hint." She turned to leave, crossing her arms.
-
Shikon grabbed a hold of his hand and pulled him through the trees back to her cave. "Stay here, I'll go get some towels." She said, racing into a tunnel and returning with a small stack of towels. She smiled at Buster as she threw a towel at Jace and then started to dry her long, red/orange hair with another.
-
After her hair was mostly dry, Shikon grabbed the third towel and knelt down, drying of Buster's black and tan coat. "You're a really annoying dog, you know that?" She muttered, throwing the towel over him.
Buster shook the towel off and lay his head on his paws. -
((hm....uhh OOH wait nevermind....um........*silence*.....XDD I am so brain dead))
Shikon's eyes snapped open, and she sat straight up in bed. She looked around her bedroom, her eyes wide with shock...or was it fear? As she realized that it had just been a dream, her breathing slowed back to normal and she began to calm down. She put a hand to her forehead to find that she was sweating, and she threw her red blankets off. A shiver ran down her spine as she climbed out of bed, slowly. -
Shikon stopped suddenly, the scent of blood flooding her nostrils. Her stomach clenched, and she asked shakily, "Jace, why can I smell blood?"
-
Shikon didn't ket go of the fact that there was blood in the tunnel. She walked through it, and soon came upon an unlit torch on the wall. "Why didn't you light a torch?" She asked, feeling around on the wall near the torch for something.
