fears being abandoned and alone, being tortured

    generation one

    mother npc (deceased)

    father npc (adopted by swiftcurrents)

    brother sunlightpaw

    sister unnamed (stillborn)

history rosypaw was born to a single mother and two other siblings not far from riverclan territory. however, her mother died in giving birth to these children and her sister also died as a stillborn. only rosypaw and her brother lived, thanks to a certain riverclan warrior named swiftcurrents, who had come to their rescue. swiftcurrents would become their adoptive father, raising them as his own. they both do not know that swift is not their biological father, despite his breed and fur colour being drastically different from theirs. he named rosypaw for she reminded him of his savior and someone he once crushed upon - briarpaw, or now known as briarstar of shadowclan. unfortunately, he would eventually die due to the complications of his former torture injuries and genetic disorder. her brother moved to shadowclan when they both reached apprentice age. rosypaw stayed behind in riverclan, feeling that she should stay loyal to the clan that their adoptive father grew up in.

The power of the sun beating down above them in the quaint camp of RiverClan is proving it to be quite hot for the young apprentice. Having a bit of a thicker coat than the other two apprentices, Rosypaw finds it annoying trying to deal with this beating sun. It didn't help the fact that the clan of waters makes it home in the open patch of land in between rivers and flowing streams. Imagine if they get to live like ThunderClan, in the forest, how much cooler it would be, especially in Greenleaf!

But she can't complain about it. If no one is complaining about it, why should she? She doesn't want to stand out as that one hater of the weather that they can't control. Her ears perks up at the mention of swimming as she pads over to join the two apprentices. She doesn't like to swim, it doesn't work well with her body type. But this weather, it's driving her squirrel crazy! Maybe just a little dip in the water couldn't hurt. "I'm down too!" Rosypaw would nod along with Skypaw. She tries to recall both of their names, but failing. She had definitely seen them around before . . . Acornpaw? Snowpaw? Whatever, she could figure out their names later, she supposes.

Never is the one to trek so far from camp, for typically, she is with someone. But she had been distracted by the sight of a butterfly fluttering in the soft breeze and her paws had strayed from the familiarity to the edge, where she would stumble upon a patrol of WindClanners. The scent of them is not all that known to the apprentice, as she never had interacted with them before. But she recalls that the clan of waters border with the clan of moors on this side.

Blinking in surprise, she startles a bit at the sight and sound of Brightshine speaking. "Oh!" she exclaims, bouncing back and away. She didn't think she had crossed over, had she? She squints, checking the scent markers. No, she had not. But the butterfly she had been chasing fluttered away on the other side of the river, into WindClan territory. She supposes she wold have to give up chasing the little winged creature, a mental sigh sounding in her head. "Umm, hi! Uh, WindClan? Er, patrolling? Ah, nice to meet you," she offers a smile, but her eyes betray nervousness. Oh boy, she needs some help of a RiverClan warrior here because she doesn't know what she should be doing here. She may be an apprentice, but she had yet to receive true proper training on how to interact with other clanners. "Mm, how do you do?" Rosypaw finally says, thinking that might just be good enough of a greeting.

Rosypaw could understand the struggles that Starlightkit had gone through. She and her brother, Sunlightpaw, had been starving to death with a mother who had passed away giving birth to them. They had been barely born into the world, not knowing how to find food or to move anywhere. It's pure luck and sign from StarClan that her father had found both of them and brought them here to RiverClan, just like Starlightkit had been brought here, to be looked after. Rosypaw would give her life for her father and shes truly grateful she is given the chance to live. Perhaps, the kit and her are much more similar than they may realize.

The apprentice had just woken up at this early hours, blinking blearily as she spies the warm morning sun shine through into the apprentices' den. A small sigh escapes her as she forces herself to get up and stretch and clean her ruffled sleepy fur. She may not have an official mentor yet, but that didn't mean she is going to be lazy and let the other apprentices get ahead of her. She would still need to train and catch up to be a good warrior to the clan. After all, that's what her father taught her to do! After cleaning herself up, the red tabby steps out into the sun, wincing a bit as she lets her eyes adjust to the bright sunlight that shines over the camp of their home.

Everyone's going about their duties, some are eating their early meals, some are already moving out of the camp to do their patrols or training, and the others just milling around in the open clearing. She blinks as she turns to face the nursery, seeing a charcoal kitten and her mother (she thinks?). They seems the more friendlier of the bunch here at this hours so maybe the child could get to know them. "Hello there!" she greets the duo, bounding over to them and dipping her head in greetings. "Is this your first time outside?" she asks of Starlightkit, peering down at the little one.

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

It seems plenty of clanmates have gathered and had the same thought of going for a swim. She's a bit relieved there's at least one warrior going with them to be their lifeguard. As Asterpaw leads the way out of the camp, the small feline bounds after him. Good StarClan, she's all ready to do some dipping now. The trek to the river had not been that long in her opinion, as the group makes their way across the familiar terrain. And all of the sudden, the leader's zipping forward, leaping into the cold water with a huge splash. She comes to a halt, trying to avoid the splash of water. "Fish!" she jumps, muttering the word as a way of a curse word. "You couldn't have jumped in as gracefully as you were swimming?" she would tease the other, shaking her head in silent laughter. She pads closer to the waters, peering into the clear liquid. Her paw stretches out, hovering, just into the water. It's a cold shock at first, but it feels pleasant and nice from the hot sun above. Crouching down into a lying down position, she would let both of her forepaws hang into the river, cooling them a bit. "It's definitely nice," she comments out loud, a purr rising in her throat.

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

If Rosypaw have to think about it, she would think that maybe several of her clanmates are not true RiverClanners, herself included, who were not born in the heart of the clan. It's surprising to see how it differs from the old days that her father would tell her about, about how those who have even a half blood in them and they would be thrown out and abandoned because they weren't pure and true full clanners. Now, those who don't have a blood of the water and fish in them didn't have to worry about being thrown to the dogs, and she's partly relieved for that.

Seeing someone who seems to be alone by herself, looking for a certain someone in the crowd of RiverClanners, the apprentices figures maybe she could just introduce herself and get to know this clanmate. After all, she's just as new as Isabella in a sense that she hadn't properly got to meet everyone. It would be very embarrassing if she didn't know her clanmates' names! "Hi there! You look a bit lost, do you need someone?" the red feline greets her cheerfully. "I don't think I seen you before, are you new here?"

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

Skypaw's catapulting herself into the water after Asterpaw, causing another splash. Unfortunately, this time, Rosypaw would be caught by this one, the water raining down onto her face. Eyes quickly closes to shield them from the droplets of liquid and they open again once she hears the water calms down a bit. She lets out a sigh and turns her head to see Frogpaw joins her. At least she isn't alone to dip, it would be a bit embarrassing to be all alone not playing around in the water! "Why don't you jump in too?" she nudges the older apprentice with a friendly grin. "No one's stopping you."

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

There's a lot of them and just her still so far. Good StarClan, it would not do her good to run off back to camp with tail between her legs so lest she can do is put on a smile and just be friendly. WindClan isn't an enemy, are they? Oh, she couldn't remember. Alliance subject have never been her strongest forte. She blinks at the one who speaks to her first, Cloudwatcher. "Ah I see!" the apprentice manages to say. Silly her, that's all she can say in response to the comment and question? "Well, I think I'm doing fine!" Slaps on a forced strong smile towards the warrior. "Are you all warriors?" Rosy leans just a little to try to discern the different members. They all seems far older than her, some perhaps double her age. Do the clan not have any apprentices her age? It would be kind of nice to encounter someone her age so the patrol feels a bit less intimidating . . .

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

Hushed rippling water of the river close to RiverClan's camp draws forth Rosypaw, who would stand at its edge, paws barely touching the liquid. Unlike Frogpaw, she didn't fear swimming. But there's just something about the water, that although its whispers music to her ears, she just could not bring herself to run full in and splash everyone just like the other apprentices did. But why? She feels she should be happy here, as it's a clan that she and her brother grew up in, the clan that their father lived in. But yet, she knows, that her father didn't seems to always like this clan, for some reason unexplained. And maybe that prejudice had grown on her and she could not bare the activities her clan is known for, swimming and fishing. No matter what, she couldn't get her mind into enjoying these things, the fun that she should be enjoying.

Maw parts a little to let a small breathe of a sigh rolls and lingers into the air as she turns away from the waters. She should focus on the else for today, maybe get to know someone new today! Maybe she should meet a warrior! She have only met apprentices around her age, but truthfully, she just wants to see how cool a warrior was. She haven't really had a formal training and mentor either, so maybe she would ask Gladestar about too. That sounds like a plan! Sadness forgotten, the apprentice would bounds back to camp, excitement on every pawstep.

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

Rosypaw blinks as Isabella is surprised by her approach, laughter ringing out from her throat. "Of course, I can tell! You just look totally lost!" she exclaims, nodding her head. "All the kits look like that too when they step out of the nursery." A teasing voice as she offers a big smile towards the calico. "Nice to meet you Isabella, I'm Rosypaw." Her head tilts as she considers her explanation. She could put two and two together and figure by her name, she must had been a loner who had been accepted to the clan. All loners, kittypets, and rouges, if she remembers, had to go through trial period and would have to have their name changed to a clan name at the meeting. So that means the next time Gladestar holds one, Isballa's name might be changed. "Oh I see, do you have any guess what your new name may be?" A quick glance over her shoulders as if looking for someone. "Well, it may seems boring here, but there's definitely plenty to do. Like cleaning the dens." Nose wrinkles as if unpleased by the idea of having to do some cleaning. Never was a fan of them. She would rather swim, which she also didn't like, over cleaning any day! "Or playing with the newborns! Or just sharing tongue with the elders. There's a lot to do than you may realize." Rosy's head tilts to the side as if looking puzzled at Isabella.

whoops i thought i replied to this ljdasd

hmm, i'm thinking that maybe rosy strays too far from the territory, ends up at fourtrees and decides to foul around (maybe like climb a rock or tree or smt) and then kodiak sees her and calls out to her and she's not careful and ends up falling and she will prob be knocked out unconscious while break her leg in the fall. it's a bit different than i was originally planning but as long as a leg is broken im all good with it xD

rosypaw finds that these days, she had been distancing herself from the others, from the family she is supposed to be happy with. why? why couldn't she just make herself feel at home in riverclan? is it because the haunting mind of her father's words and dislike for the clan influencing her? as much as she thought about it in his way, rootlegs, tempestwing, and the others had been kind to her. so she didn't quite understand, how to feel about this whole riverclan matter. her brother, maybe he could understand? but he had left for shadowclan and she doesn't even know where that is! it seems that in the end, there's no clear solution to her complex feelings about this problem, this loneliness she is feeling.

once again, like the time of the windclan patrol, her paws find herself stumbling along the border of riverclan. the scent of someone different, a scent of darkclan but not familiar to the apprentice who didn't usually stray far out beyond the territory of riverclan, her eyes fall upon oakstar, the leader. he's . . . big. but then, she's small, so who's right? "w-whoa!" rosy steps back, startled by the seemingly sudden appearance of the tom. "w-who are you?" she blinks, taking in the sight of the older warrior. "i mean, who are you?" she repeats, but a bit more less startled and nicely. "you're at riverclan border." well, fishbrain! he wouldn't be here if he didn't know if it was riverclan, right? "how can i, uh, help i guess?"

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

rosypaw had unintended to follow eelsplash, but unknowingly in her own way for the apprentice had been following a butterfly that had strayed over from thunderclan territory into the open waterlands. soft red paws find themselves almost crashing into the older warrior as she's distracted by the sight of the riverclanner and the butterfly's gone, floating off somewhere else. blinking, rosy's nose scrunches up and she peeks over from behind the warrior to spy a skyclanner sitting on the border, ryewhisker. "o-oh, hello!" she greets both of them, a small smile quickly marks on her face, hoping that neither of them had noticed her silly and distracted activity.

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

the apprentice had been by the river further away from where flintstorm is, dipping her paws in them for she's not much of a hunter for fish nor a swimmer. but the sound of someone speaking, soon followed by another one that seems a tiny bit familiar would have the red tabby taking her paws out of the water, shaking them to dry them, and makes her way over to the source of noises. stumbling upon the two of them, one of them ryewhisker, the former skyclanner she seen that day. "hello, hello! are you two dipping?" a quick glance between the two of them then at rye. "oh, have you ever been in the river, rye?" she bounds over to the warrior, inquisitive expression upon her face as she stands close to the female that is above her.

    。☆✼★ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ☆★☆ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ★✼☆。

you can join our (xen and i) 'litter' if you need one! rosy's the same age as the rye x root x berry litter. they're npc x npc but had been adopted by swiftcurrents who is in turn adopted by rootlegs so still got the root family going!
