they've seen me in the daylight !

It was one thing to know, theoretically, that there might be zombies in the territory -- even with Fireghost's injuries, and with Felix having surveyed the lake and maybe having seen a glimpse, it was another matter entirely to see it standing before him.
Felix doesn't freeze up, per se. He stares at it, watches as Dog charges up, as Grave tears into it. He doesn't look frozen in terror -- he looks somewhat alarmed, a thoughtful look over his face.

"It really is a zombie, isn't it?" He chirrs, circling around Dog to stand a little behind Grave, looking at the crawling creature thoughtfully. It makes something stir in his chest, uneasy. The fact that it was still trying to hurt them, even still. His ears turn, and, quickly, fearlessly reckless, he walks further. Circles around to the back of it, away from the snapping jaws, and pushes his paws down onto the skull. Presses his paws into the shoulders -- pinning it down, pressing all of his weight into it. Felix, as small as he is for a serval, is still rather large, though it's not perfect. It's still larger than him, albeit incredibly weakened, and Felix remains tense, ready to leap away in the event that it should somehow shake him off.

"What do we do with it?" Felix asks, far too calm for somebody who was not good at combat, and was generally something of an anxious wreck. Perhaps a matter of concern, especially considering that he was literally standing on top of the zombie, like a moron, but not something to worry about in the moment. Besides the zombie part of it.

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix wasn't asleep. Of course he wasn't asleep. Already having a bad sleeping schedule and bad habits under normal circumstances, Felix just seemed straightup obsessed with worsening his health now that he had something of a concussion.

There was a reason nobody had claimed that Felix was particularly smart.

In truth, even as weak as the call for help was, at first all it does is succeed at worsening Felix's headache. He squeezes his eyes against it, fervently ignores the pounding of his skull. Words -- telepathy? It'd been ... help, right? It's hard to breathe, but Felix stands up regardless. Puts the book down(it'd only been making his head hurt anyways), grabs a bag, scarcely managing to keep himself steady. Whatever help was needed, he'd .. hopefully have stuff for it in his bag ... unless there was a fight. Felix was not, in fact, able to help with fighting right now.

He nearly trips on his way down the stairs, but somehow, miraculously, he makes it out, blearily, blindly, following the scents until he comes upon the crowd. Which was to say -- pretty much Grave and the person on the ground. Percy.

    Oh. Percy.

He has -- he has ... water or something, right? And cloth? He'd been ... he'd been tryna do, like .. medicine stuff, lately. He wasn't in a place to learn it right now, but Adeline couldn't be everywhere at once, and he -- he remembers the way that Grave had helped Fireghost, starting by cleaning. That -- that hadn't been this severe. But the principle had to stand, right? His head isn't clear enough to decide, not fully.

"... Grave?" He prompts, realizing that maybe this wasn't a great thing to put in his unsteady, uncoordinated paws. He had to help, he had to, but he couldn't -- "I've got some, um. I've got .. some, uh. I've got some water and, um, cloth. I remember you, um --" He doesn't feel entirely there, the pounding of his head severe as it was. Scarcely experiencing the distress of finding his clanmate, his friend's ... maybe-boyfriend-maybe not bleeding out on the ground. Barely acknowledges it, beyond the steady reminder that he needs to do something, anything. He just -- he just thinks that, if they cleaned it out before Adeline arrived, it might ... help. If Grave were to acknowledge him and his stumbling words, Felix would attempt to shove the bag at her -- his paws are almost too clumsy to pull out the bottle as was.

He needed to help. He felt so useless, too uncoordinated and blurry to even do something as simple as this.

Anddd, start. Felix curls just a little closer into himself, wings tucked close to his sides as he looks up at Grave, eyes wide. Haha. Why was he here. Who thought he was cut out for this, Felix has never made a decision in his life. He wasn't even trained for this shit.

"Maybe, uh, scheduled patrols? Around the lake?" Felix asks, trying very very hard. He rests his head on his paws. He sort of just wants to curl into a ball and let everyone debate it, but Felix was going to be a very good high position no matter the cost. Couldn't just get lax. "Ummm .... yeah, it'd be hard to get an idea. Is there a way to tell if it the rock just ends up in the lake, either?" A somewhat incomplete thought, but Felix thinks people would get the gist. Hopefully. "It's not a bad idea! It's useful, just sort of hard to figure out specifics,"

Fireghost seemed a little more chipper this time! Bad things had certainly, uh, happened, but nobody had died, so it made sense things were better, this week. Felix yawns as he arrives, quick to fetch a feather crown, placing it lopsidedly on his head. He shuts his eyes as he clunkily plops down to listen, blocking out the light. His head doesn't hurt as much right now, fortunately -- easier to retain information if he's not having to listen through a fog of pain.

Huh. This was .. what, his fourth meeting? Give or take? He was beginning to lose track. How interesting.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix had never known Royalpaw well. He'd seen little of the guy since his arrival, but he'd -- Felix liked him. He liked everyone here, and, at some point, had pretty much put all of his groupmates under his jurisdiction. The text is blurred before Felix's, uh, concussed gaze, and it makes his head pound, but read it Felix does.

"Ummm ... Don't .. forget about me, I'll be back," Felix reads out to Fireghost, ears falling back. It's something of a blow. Maybe Felix should have tried to talk to him a little more, maybe -- Felix, after all, would be a fool to believe this wasn't in part because of recent happenings. ".. Guess we'll just have to wait, huh?" His ears twitch. At least he was planning on coming back, if nothing else ..

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix had not, in fact, heard of the Red God before. He barely had an idea of what the Sanguine Ruins was, much less the religion they followed. It was a slow learning process for the serval, but hearing the words she chose, the awkward way she pauses before continuing. Holy message. Red God.

Cultish, he heard Felicity's agitated snap in his ears now, blinking at the girl standing before. It's almost disorienting, the clear proof of statements Felicity had ranted about in the past, entirely disregarded by Felix. The violent reaction of Losteyes, the nervous chatter of Fireghost.

".... No .." Felix takes Fireghost's cue, voice soft, barely heard. He looks distinctly uncomfortable, sitting stiffly now, with large ears pressed flat against his head. He didn't really have a position to take here, as separated from Agrelos' culture as he had been his whole life, and is left uncertainly glancing between those who had spoken, now.

How odd. An .. incredibly odd situation.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix ... has never had alcohol in his life, and he didn't really plan to. For one, he hadn't ever been exposed to it. Like, what was he gonna do? Have his sister commit theft so that they could get drunk? ... I mean, Felicity probably would have, but Felix wasn't really interested in it. He may not have experienced it in real life, but in fiction, it looked ... weird. It made people do stupid things. Felix did stupid stuff without prompting, thank you. Like ... dazedly wandering through the rain instead of resting, only prompted out of it by Grave's shouting.

"I ... have no idea what you're talkin 'bout," Felix tells Grave, eyes wide as he joins his clanmates. He's not even going to think about that. It's confusing enough without digging into it, Felix isn't sure his poor brain could take it. He's had enough migraines lately. "Language is pretty, uh, weird though, you're, um. You're right," He blinks a little blearily at the lupurca. He was pretty sure this is what drunkenness looked like but, quite frankly, Felix didn't have the experience or brainpower to prove it. So, this was .. confusing.

they've seen me in the daylight !

//this is for the ooc prompt hence its length lmao. its pretty much just fe checkin out a snail guys thats literally it

Felix didn't have a lot to remind him of his siblings.

It's just a fact of life, and not one that really bothered him. Neither Felicity nor Helier were particularly sentimental people. Felicity used to hang off of Felix and talk about anything and nothing, and Helier would just go with whatever Felicity told him to do. It was easier than arguing with her, or so he'd always said. Not a single belonging between the three of them -- they simply didn't have the room.

When they'd parted, Felicity had insisted each of them exchange feathers. Not even one was plucked from Felix's own wings, just .. feathers stolen from the ground. It'd almost been meaningful, except that Felicity had insisted her new girlfriend get one, too, and it wasn't that Felix hadn't liked Sheska, she was his friend, it was just that ... really. Really, now.

That didn't mean there wasn't things Felix associated with them. They had, after all, spent their whole lives together -- this was the very first month Felix had ever spent outside of Felicity's circle of influence, Helier's blunt .. well, chaos.

Felix had been a strange child. One of the really weird kids who collected snails and feathers and worms. Whatever weird little things he could get on. Felicity, for all of her blunt meanness and occasional snarls, had been happy to help him -- where Felix had been a casual collector, Felicity had hoarded the things whenever it rained, excitedly dashing towards him with a whole basket of the things. Hey, Ri! She'd shout, laughing as she'd drop the basket. I got more of those bugs you like!

Felix had never known what to do with them, but he'd always giggled and thanked her anyways.

She'd stopped doing that once they left their mother -- they didn't have anywhere to put them. Sometimes she'd drop a snail and laugh about it, for old time's sake.

He misses his siblings. They sort of sucked -- Felicity had a habit of snapping at them, and also attempting to duke it out with anyone she could(though she'd eventually mellowed out a bit), and Helier ... was Helier, but he missed them regardless.

The sun has set by now, just a bit ago. The rain has settled -- it'd been raining a lot lately. Felix rather liked the rain, though. There'd been points when it'd been miserable in the past, when there was no real escape from it, but he had nice memories in it. Even if Felix is cold and soaked now, shivering in the early night, he's happy enough. Perched next to a rock, Felix could be found, grinning as he investigates a snail on top of it. It's been a while since he's seen one -- he hasn't been looking.

"Hi," He chirrs to it under his breath, scarcely able to be heard by even himself. He places a paw on the rock, eyes round as he regards the little thing, with its little antennae. A comforting little thing, a stark reminder of that which had left him behind. A reminder of simpler days.

    Felix liked snails. He did.

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix hasn't actually met anyone from the Cartel yet. He recalled the one note they'd left on their border, about the quarantine, and he'd had to read it out for Fireghost. He recognizes their scent, at least -- the incident had caused enough anxiety to grant the group a place in Felix's memories. ... Not to mention the incident with that one guy telling him to go to them about that one thing if he learned anything. That was sorta weird.

"Hello!" Felix is happy to greet. He hadn't been doing as intensive things anymore, so even if he, um .. stumbles a bit and .. still seems a bit hazy from the concussion, he's determined to not be a bad .... greeter ..... host? He plops down to seat himself, as prim and proper as he can with his lack of coordination, and smiles, bright and polite. "Hey, hi! 'm Felix, thanks for, um, visiting, it's nice to see you guys!" His smile breaks into a grin, just for a moment. "G - Gifts, right? Thanks! Have things been, um, better?" The grin falls, expression still friendly, but more along the lines of worried, now. They wouldn't be here if the sickness was still going strong, he's sure, but he can't help but worry.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix .. was just straightup not allowed to leave on his own, which was fun. Entirely understandable, and Felix was always glad to have company, but it .. grated on him. He could've come here himself, and not wasted time troubling Adeline just because Felix had been dumb enough to get kidnapped for a day. When he was barely useful as was.

Didn't matter. He was here now! They'd stopped at the Knights of Eden just before, because that's where Adeline's invitation stop was, and now .. they were here! ... Maybe he should have asked Adeline to bring him to Volary Flights for his ambassador visit, too. It was too late now, though. They were here, and then they were going home for the picnic.

"Um, hi!" Felix calls, blinking past the haziness and aching of his head. The lights and tasks have been getting to him, but he's pretty sure he'll have a minute to cope before he has to actually do the picnic stuff. "It's the Sanctuary, hello! I'm Felix, and we've got a, uh, picnic. That's goin' on." His sentences were a bit disjointed, but it was better stuttering than completely mucking up his speech, like concussions generally did. "Th' Knights of Eden n' Wind Haven are being invited, too. Umm .. You're encouraged to bring your own food! Don't hafta, though," Is he rambling? He's probably rambling. That's ... okay. That's fine and cool and okay, definitely. He glances nervously up at Adeline -- he probably shoulda let her say some stuff of her own, so she wasn't just sittin' there, but that's ... also fine. Cool and okay.

they've seen me in the daylight !

Felix has literally no food worthy of being brought to the picnic. He doesn't even have good food for himself, he literally just consumes whatever he gets his paws on, whatever it may be, which isn't hard because this is the Sanctuary,

He's going to have a crisis about this. A weird thing to freakabout, but Felix is pretty much having a nonstop crisis anyways. Which is certainly not helped by the presence of his sister -- Felicity seemed to have deemed it vital to return to the Sanctuary with him and Adeline, which is cool and all, except for that fact that he had no idea why she was here, or why she'd joined a group, the Thunderlands, or .. anything, really.

"I didn't -- I didn't, um, bring .. anything," He says, sheepish. It was sort of hard to concentrate, between his concussion and Felicity's presence and the fact that the walk out to invite people hadn't helped him at all, and he hadn't really gotten a break. He didn't even know how to make food. "... Seems fun though," Unusually quiet, for Fe. Though at least he seems happy enough to be here, except for the part where his anxiety seems ... a fair bit higher than normal.

they've seen me in the daylight !

    //mobile, f

Felix didn't mean to worry Adeline. It wasn't his fault that he got a concussion and was also apparently an important figure in the group, and therefore not legally entitled to rest -- or so that's how Felix seemed to think it worked.

In fact, he probably would have been absolutely happy to do this on his own, because he just had to go to the Thunderlands, but nobody wanted to let him because he was concussed and probably liable to falling into a lake and drowning. To be entirely fair, he almost had, a while back.

So .. yeah. Maybe Felix feels a little bad about worrying Adeline and slowing her down, especially with his inconsistent pace. But, they did, in fact make it there eventually! And hey, that's all that matters, right? Felix rather likes the Knights of Eden, from what little he's seen of them, and he's content to sit sunnily next to Adeline. He may be uncoordinated and maybe a little hazy, but he's smiling brightly as he waits there -- should somebody arrive, he would lift a paw to wave at them, and nearly overbalance doing so.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

Wind always made Felix feel funny. He presumed it was because of the wings -- he associated it with flight at this point, though he'd only been regularly flying for about a month. And, if he opened his wings just right, it'd probably be, like .. a lot easier to take off. Maybe. Felix hasn't tested it, and doesn't currently plan to.

What wind right now is, is an nuisance. The serval squeaks as he's hit right in the face with a bag of flour. This is what alerts him to the fact that things are, in fact, being lost to the wind -- before this moment, Felix had mostly been wandering somewhat dazedly. His head may have been doing better, but he had no interest in tuning into the world and starting up another migraine unless necessary. Light was still trying to kill him as is.

Right. The wind ... There was a piece of paper in the wind, fairly high up, and a quick glance alerts him to Heavensdoor's presence, just in the distance. He should probably .. catch that. And round up what he could. The serval lowers himself to the ground, wriggles his haunches, and leaps into the air, wings outstretched. He doesn't grab it very gracefully, it's more like aggressively tackling it out of the sky, and he hits the ground just as disgracefully, grunting as he hits the ground. He's left blinking dazedly there for a moment, re-orienting himself, before -- right.

"Hi! I, um. I got some of your stuff ..." Felix calls. His trot over to the group is a almost painful to watch, because he's using one of his paws to hold the retrieved objects(literally just an empty sack and a piece of paper) which is .. not a good combination with Felix's current clumsiness. But bring them he does, at least, looking rather proud of himself. "I would try to, um, fetch more but I'm not sure ..." He trails off, grinning sheepishly.

they've seen me in the daylight !

This week's meeting was more uhhh .... Shoutouts to stuff, greeting one person .... Felix's ears fall back just a bit at Fireghost's worrying -- maybe he shoulda given a try to keep the whole things under wraps. It'd just been for one day, nobody needed to worry anymore than they had. Shoulda just said it was from falling out of the tree.

Some more news Felix already knows, though he appreciates hearing again, and .. Oh thank god. He didn't get promoted this week. Really weird thing to be relieved about, but nearly every meeting besides the first one he'd gotten one. Which is scary. Not to say Felix didn't want to contribute, but it was incredibly scary. Ridiculously scary. Imagine having responsibilities. Or, more of them, anyways. Felix probably woulda gotten a migraine so bad his brain would melt out of his ears. He got a title, though! Which is fine and fun.

Which, interesting note. Huh. He'd barely ever, ever seen Yaomoto or Amara since he'd arrived -- he remembers Dandelionfluff mentioning Amara, once, but he'd never seen her. Guess the warnings were fair.

"Thanks! Hope you rest well, Fireghost!" He chirrs, smiling brightly.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

Though Felix was doing much than he had been earlier that week, whether or not he was a good candidate for this sort of project was ... debatable. Which was to say, it probably wasn't a good idea, he was liable to spill paint everywhere, but he could probably cope. Probably.

"I do!" He chirrups, blinking hard. He has a lot of questions he'd like to ask about the specifics, but .. Heavensdoor sounds so excited, Felix doesn't want to accidentally ruin that. "What do you want us to do?" Perhaps an obvious question, perhaps not. Felix didn't know, nor care, beyond the possibility of maybe annoying Heavensdoor. That would be unideal.

    ★ ― felix

they've seen me in the daylight !

It was strange for Felix, for there to still be Sanctuary members that he'd scarcely interacted with. I mean, by all means, he'd only been here a little over a month, but with how much he got out, for there to be some that had escaped his attention was .. odd. Cosmicshadow was one of these people -- she'd showed up at his joining, he recalls, and he hadn't seen her after that, though she seemed to be showing herself again, judging by her appearance at Dog's talent show. Which .. wasn't really the point. Not that there was a point, Felix literally wasn't doing much of anything right now.

He still had to figure out what to do with the flowers he'd picked from the gardens -- for his weekly task, the one everybody had dragged him away from cause of his concussion. He'd managed to get it done! But he still had to make something from them. Felix sighs, the basket of flowers sitting next to him, flowers in paws. How ... frustrating.

Felix can't even blame Heavensdoor for his response. For all that Felix loved his sister, Felicity was exhausting to deal with on the best of days. She was more bearable when it was just him and Helier and Felicity was not drawn by the urge to be loud and rude to everyone she met.

Felix has one fear, and that fear is that somehow Felicity will provoke everyone in a way that'll make them hate him -- not on purpose, probably, but Felicity was, like ... the opposite of charismatic. It's happened before.

"We're the same age," He corrects her somewhat tiredly, blinking. He has no idea why she chose the word fantabulous, besides to be annoying and, quite frankly, Felix isn't even going to worry about it. If everyone else dislikes her, well -- that's not new. As such, his responding grin to Heavensdoor is entirely sheepish -- one part apologetic, and two parts .. something else. Felix has no idea how he feels. It's weird. Felicity is jabbering on and annoying people like she always does, pushing buttons, and Felix is ... sitting backseat, except people are still actually acknowledging him, because they know him and he lives here.

He greets Roman with a bright grin, half-extending the wing opposite to his sister in greeting. "Hi, Roman!" He chirrups, ears partly-falling from their perked state as Roman asks, sheepish. He looks a little more lively now, being properly acknowledged. "Umm, no. I, um! I'll get some, though, just a sec," He rather likes Roman -- he'd initially come off as sort of scary, but it hadn't taken long for Felix to get used to it, hardly phased now by the intensity of his question. He seems to be about to take off, but he pauses.

"You did too, right? Do you want me to, um, grab you guys anything real quick?" Eager to please as ever, he looks over the little group he's collected. He somehow expected to get overlooked, sitting with his sister -- he had no idea how he managed to attract over these specific people, who seemed a little

, but he's happy to be here now. ... I mean. Unless Felicity manages to pick a full-on fight. That'd suck.

Felix remembered Ilya's last visit -- not incredibly well, unfortunately, because so many people visited and Felix only had so much room in his memory. Particularly not when his head was as foggy as it was, but he was at least coping well and recovering.

"Oh!" Felix had only been passing by -- his observation skills weren't anywhere near on par with what they usually were, perhaps why Felix hadn't noticed his presence previously, and so it takes a moment, but the serval blinks as he spots the duo, before smiling, making a slow trot over. He doesn't want to eat -- he hasn't eaten very well in a while, which is .. a little strange and out of character of him, but besides the point. "Hi! Umm .. Ilya, right? From, that, um, one place?" He asks, seating himself. He blinks a few times to clear the haze of his mind -- which doesn't work incredibly well, quite frankly. Concussions, huh. "It's, um. Nice to see you! How are things?" Should he be asking why he's here? Felix has no idea. Felix has no idea what you're supposed to do when there's an ally chilling in the middle of camp eating your food. Felix, for his part, is at least happy to welcome him semi-normally. Because Felix is welcoming and helpful to a frankly weird extent, as some of his clanmates have oh-so-helpfully noted in the past.

Felix was starting to get .. a little overwhelmed with the whole .. zombie thing. You think he would have a while ago, but -- well. There was something about seeing one dragged home just like another day, another .. thing that was .. jarring. Too casual to be anything like the stories he knew, except that it sort of was, and he just -- he's not sure.

    He's coping. It's interesting, anyways.

"It doesn't look like he's hurt," Felix attempts to soothe Adeline, blinking at Roman. His head still hurt, though he wasn't as hazy as he had been throughout the rest of the week. "What're you doing with it?" Felix asks, tilting his head. He didn't even suspect what this was about. Felix had never been a killer, and he'd never really suspected any of his clanmates of being one, either -- even for something such as this. It wasn't even that Felix would be horrified by the act, it just .. didn't occur to him, that was all.
