    PHYSICALITY:
    BODY | DOMESTIC FELINE | HEALTH: 95%
A dilute calico with gentle green eyes, Willownose is a long, lithe she-cat with mid-length fur that is soft to the touch. Patches of silvery-gray-blue and creamy beige overlap in a loose patchwork across her coat, with a face split right down the middle. Her chimerical face ends in a distinctive nose, colored a surprisingly dark gray and vaguely heart-shaped.

—— minor injuries: Her hips get stiff and lock up when it rains or gets cold because of trauma she suffered as a younger cat
    —— major injuries: None

    ACCESSORIES: None
    SCENT: Pine and wet earth
AESTHETICS: Messy watercolor paintings, vine-wreathed corners, early morning dew, moss-covered stone, flowers tucked into the corner of a well-loved picnic blanket

    PERSONALITY:
Willownose appears to be kind and soft, and in many ways she is, but she is also unyielding and immovable, though not in a stern or harsh way. She moves slowly, deliberately, and speaks in the same measured way. She has a deep, warm heart, and cares very much for those around her, but she is also immensely stubborn and it's difficult to change her mind once she's made it up. She keeps her empathy close to the surface, but by sheer force of will makes decisions with her head rather than her heart, even when it would benefit her to do the opposite. Willownose is not a warmonger by any means, but once she decides it's for a good cause she is not afraid to get her paws or claws dirty.

—— significant traits: protective, stubborn, thoughtful, sensitive, deliberate

    RELATIONS:
    npc x npc
    no littermates
    no known family

    mentoring Heatherpaw
    friends
    enemies
    crushes
    bisexual + biromantic
platonic relationships are easy to form
romantic relationships are reasonably easy to form, but difficult to make stick

    HISTORY:

    FUTURE PLOTS:
Willownose makes a choice based on thinking something through rather than reacting in an impassioned way, but it hurts someone she loves deeply and she is forced to reevaluate her perceptions of herself. Perhaps an angsty romance??
Willownose, upon discovering she is infertile, adopts some abandoned kittens and realizes she is in no way equipped to raise them. Antics ensue.
Idk why but I really want her to have some sort of StarClan-y crisis of faith where she rationalizes herself out of any supernatural belief system but then StarClan is like "wtf" and she has to deal with it...

    INTERACTIONS:
    will not attack without reason
    might start fights
    will end fights
    will not run away
feel free to powerplay friendly actions
    open to minor injuries
    ask before major injuries
bold name in #ACD88C and @/WILLOWNOSE[/sup]

➤➣➤ Hi everyone! This here is Willownose, and she's a pretty reserved and kinda judge-y lady with some secrets. I'm hoping to get her involved with lots of ShC people and start fleshing out relationships. I'd be down for anything off this list, or almost anything you can come up with:

    Friends

Best friends (though they'd have to work a bit to get there)

    First impressions gone wrong

    Hunting or sparring together

Having a chat about StarClan or religion more generally (Willownose is a sort of atheist, but she doesn't tell people that)

    Asking Willownose for advice

Willownose babysits and realizes she is terrible at it

Just no death or maiming! Come at me with your ideas!! Looking forward to getting to know y'all <3

➤➣➤ Willownose had not been prepared for such sudden changes in the weather. First the unseasonable warmth, the drought, every swallow making her tongue feel like rough bark and her tongue like it was made of stone. Now it had cooled off, though everything was still dry and crumbling. She didn't know what to make of it, it made no logical sense, and yet here they were. The blue-and-cream calico was not used to not understanding, and it itched worse than fleas to not know why this was happening. At the last meeting, Briarstar had announced that the medicine cats were consulting with StarClan, but Willownose would sooner rely on her own four paws than wait around for the Clans' dead to solve her problems.

So she was out, every morning in the wee hours before the sunlight streaked through dried blades of grass, searching for water in whatever form she could find it. Dew, damp moss, anything. She was seldom successful, it seemed that even the air had given up on trying to manifest moisture around here. Irritated by her lack of success again on this early spring morning, Willownose stalked back into camp with a look of slightest disdain on her aristocratic features. She wasn't given to public displays of temper--or any strong emotion, really--so only the observant would notice her irritation, but it was there nonetheless.

Coming to a halt inside the ShadowClan camp, Willownose took several deep breaths to try and release her anger. It did no one any good if they just held onto the frustration that they all felt. Perhaps someone around the camp would be doing something distracting enough that it would cheer up the woman, so she settled in, leaf-green eyes alert and observant, to wait and see.

*shamefully crawls back in two months later* sorry everyone I was so excited and then a global pandemic came crashing in and everything hit the fan and I've only now got my feet back under me!!

STAGHEART   tansystar -- if either of you are still interested in threads with Willie let me know!! I can definitely make if you are, but no worries if not!!

➤➣➤ The woman's cool green eyes panned over the camp's heart, searching. Paws tucked primly beneath her, she sat near the mouth of the warrior's den, calm exterior belying nothing of how quickly her heart was thudding inside her narrow chest. She'd just awoken from her fourth nightmare in a row, and no matter how hard she tried she couldn't erase the deep claw marks her panic had left in the floor of her nest. Willownose couldn't abide by a messy nest, but neither did she want to reveal the depths of her recent night terrors to the rest of her denmates, so the dilute calico determined that the best course of action would be to try and find some detritus she could use to cover the scoring in the den floor. Perhaps a softer nest would help her sleep better, too.

Clearing her throat, the woman turned her split face in the direction of her Clanmates. "If anyone would like to join me," she meowed gently, "I'm going to see if I can find some moss or something to line our nests. I've noticed a few are looking quite bare." Willownose didn't spend much time with her Clanmates, she had generally preferred in her youth to be alone, but as she was growing older, and her mother showed no signs of returning, the silver feline was coming to accept that she craved companionship. It was time she stepped up in this way, and actually started trying. It was time.

➤➣➤ Willownose was pleased at Foxflame's near-immediate response to her request. A gentle smile alighted on her austere features, softening her normally inscrutable expression. The young warrior was unfamiliar to her, even though they were the same age. She cringed inwardly upon realizing this--yes, they must have been apprentices at the same time. Shared a den and everything. And yet, she had been so cold, so distant, so wrapped up in the loss of her mother that she was blind to her peers and to the world of the Clan beyond the immediate necessities of eating, sleeping, and training. She had to rectify her error, and Foxflame's eagerness to forage with her was a great place to start.

"Wonderful," she responded, dipping her head to the russet warrior. "I thought we could look around the burnt sycamore, to see if there are some soft mosses and things to bring back. What do you say?" She didn't want to be pushy, but also didn't want to waste half the day wandering around. Willownose was trying, to be sure, but she couldn't try that hard. Not yet. But hopefully on this little trip she would have the opportunity to apologize to Foxflame for how she probably had treated him during their apprenticeship. Perhaps he would be her first friend.

➤➣➤ The scent of blood reached Willownose's dark nostrils, stopping the woman in her tracks. Heartbeat increasing, claws extending. Where was the source? Was it friend or foe? The only way to find out was to follow the scent. Gritting her teeth, the dilute calico slunk through the undergrowth, following the trail. As she grew closer and closer to its source, the stench of Twolegs sharpened on the wind. A cringe warped Willownose's features, and a small hiss escaped her clenched teeth. What did this mean?

Suddenly a blue she-cat appeared at the edge of Willownose's vision, dragging her torn, bloody body further into the territory. Willownose tensed. But there was something familiar about the woman, something that she recognized. As she crept closer, not wanting to reveal herself if this stranger was a foe, the name suddenly popped into her head, and with it a call to action. "Rainface!" she blurted out, springing from the undergrowth. A fellow ShadowClanner, missing for so long, now found. Hurt. "Rainface, it's me, Willownose. I'm here. Are you hurt?" Idiot, of course she's hurt! Where else would the blood be coming from? Gently, so gently, Willownose poked and prodded at the she-cat, trying to determine her injuries. The scent of Twolegs sharpened again, and she paused. "Were you followed? Are you alone?" If there was a battle coming, she wanted to be prepared.

➤➣➤ Quietly, the blue-and-cream warrior padded over to the rest of her Clanmates, sitting down not too far from Softkit, who seemed pleased to be front and center. She didn't know the young one well, but certainly wasn't about to spoil his fun. A ghost of a smile upturned her lips as she tucked her tail around her paws, waiting for their leader to speak.

➤➣➤ At Canarysong's approach, Willownose exhaled a bit of breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. A proper group. That lifted some pressure, to be sure, and made this all a bit more manageable. "Of course, Waspfang, Canarysong," responded the blue-and-cream feline, dipping her head to the newcomer and senior warrior, offering a slight smile to the former as he seemed a little hesitant. "And yes, that's a great idea if anyone else decides to join us." She didn't mind waiting a few more moments to see if anyone else would jump in, but her paws were itching to move so that she could have something to do with them while she tried to talk to her Clanmates. Willownose had never been great at sitting and holding conversations.

"Well, shall we?" she offered, rising to all four paws and gesturing with her tail toward the entrance. If anyone else wanted to come they could join the party before they got too far away from camp. She wasn't anticipating a long journey or extended absence, so even the younger Clan members would be welcome. But more than anything she just wanted to get moving so that she didn't have to sit with her thoughts any more.

➤➣➤ Maybe Elpis and Willownose could get to know each other? Willie is a v calm lady, and seems kinda aloof but is really protective and stubborn and has major lawful good vibes. She would probably ask Elpis a LOT of questions about her life and gigantism and stuff and then decide that Elpis must be protected at all costs!

➤➣➤ Willownose fought to keep her eyebrows from ascending even higher on her forehead at Foxflame's rambunctious enthusiasm, but even she had to admit that it was a little infectious. She felt a kind of weight lift from her heart as she followed him from the camp, shaking her head slightly. Who would have thought that she'd take such pleasure from being around such chipper individuals. "Thanks, Stagheart," she added smoothly as she padded past him, following his brother. "I'll keep an eye out."

At Waspfang's jocular comment, she tilted her head slightly, not having taken him as a joking sort. He was right, though, there were bits of moss clinging to Stagheart's pelt. "If it's still there when we get back, Waspfang, we might need to help your brother out." A soft smile tugged at the edges of her lips, and she let out a small chuckle. "Although it's more than likely that we'll come back looking more rag-tag by far." Flicking her tail toward the entrance, she indicated that if Waspfang wanted to come with he should get moving. She liked the three brothers very much, and found their family dynamic to be quite amusing.

"So, Foxflame, congratulations on your new apprentice," Willownose commented, catching up with the russet tomcat. "Oakpaw seems lovely." Willownose herself had never had an apprentice, and she wasn't sure how well she would do as a mentor, but she could tell from her short interactions with Foxflame that he would be a great, cheerful mentor for young Oakpaw.

➤➣➤ Despite her best efforts, Willownose did not handle the heat well. Her thick, fluffy coat seemed to trap the sun's rays and draw them even closer to her skin, boiling in her blood and bones and keeping her from ever cooling down. She hated greenleaf, hated it with every fiber of her being, even though she knew that she was alone in feeling that way. But she simply couldn't abide by the heat. A small groan escaped her lips as she wriggled her body, trying to contort herself in such a way that the dappled shade of a nearby tree would provide her with some relief. She couldn't believe the way Stagheart was just... lying there, soaking it up like some kind of reptile. But he'd asked her a question.

"Well," she started, trying her best not to sound irritated, "right now I'd take speed over strength so I could run away from this overbearing heat! I don't understand how you're just soaking it up like that, aren't you sweating?" Another sigh forced its way out of her as she pulled one paw out of the sun's ever-encroaching path into her shade. "What about you, what would you pick?"

Before he had a chance to answer, another idea popped into the blue-and-cream she-cat's head. "I have a good one: would you rather only be able to eat what's at the bottom of the freshkill pile, or only whatever's left after everyone else picked something from the carrionplace?" A rather morbid would-you-rather, but Willownose couldn't help it if that's where her mind went on an absurdly hot day like today. The heat made her grouchy.

➤➣➤ Willownose's curiosity seldom got the better of her, but when it came to new members of ShadowClan the warrior occasionally was compelled to learn more about certain individuals. Elpis's arrival on the border a week or two ago had caused some commotion among the Clan, as abandoned kittens always did, but there was something about the girl that Willownose found totally fascinating. Perhaps she sensed a similar kind of sadness in the younger girl that Willownose herself possessed, perhaps she was drawn to the girl because she wanted to protect her. She wasn't sure, but either way the warrior felt compelled to check in on the kitten on a warm, hazy morning.

Taking a seat near the nursery's entrance, the dilute calico settled in to wait for the kitten to appear. She would be hard to miss, as large as she was for her age, and Willownose intended to try and make the girl feel welcomed. She'd brought a small mouse from the freshkill pile, hoping to share some food with the youngster to break the ice. Hopefully Elpis was hungry.

// sorry for the lame starter, I promise she'll be more conversational once ELPIS is here <3

➤➣➤ Relieved that the she-cat was alone, Willownose didn't relax her tensed muscles but instead redirected her building combat energy into helping Stagheart lift their wounded Clanmate. Darting forward, she helped the senior warrior lift Rainface to her paws, waiting to see if the she-cat could walk with his help or if the two of them would need to support her more fully. "It's okay, Rainface, we've got you," she said, her calm voice belying the torrent of rage building inside her skull. Who could have done this to her? And why? Now wasn't the time to ask, she knew, but her claws were ready to tear apart Rainface's captors. "Can you walk with Stagheart's help or do you need us to carry you?" Turning to the other senior warrior, Willownose flicked her tail back toward camp. "Canarysong, do you think you could run to get Oliveslip?" She didn't want to tell her superior to do anything, but Willownose was already in position to help support Rainface, and Canarysong was faster than the warrior anyway.

➤➣➤ Willownose didn't fully understand the situation that she'd walked into, but the commotion caused by a bunch of her Clanmates gathering in the middle of the night was hard to ignore. There were two bodies, Stagheart and Crowsleep digging a hole, and Icefeather looking like the world had just ended. Maybe for her it had. Willownose decided she could ask questions later, if at all, and that for now she could just be another set of capable paws and strong muscles. Padding over to Crowsleep and Stagheart, her expression betrayed nothing. "Can I help at all?" She didn't want to give Tansyface or Icefeather anything more to worry about.

➤➣➤ A slight smile tugged at the corner of Willownose's mouth at the girl's attempt to remember her name. Honestly, she was surprised Elpis had gotten the prefix right! Meeting so many new faces in such a short time was surely a great difficulty, on top of everything else the kitten seemed to be dealing with. Willownose's favorite hobby was observing from a distance, and she had not missed the well-hidden discomfort that followed Elpis wherever she went. Willownose was a stranger to chronic physical pain, but not to constant emotional pain, and though they were exceedingly different she could still recognize the signs.

But that was neither here nor there. She was here to get to know the giantess, to hopefully help her feel like she had another feline to talk to if she wanted. So when the girl asked about the mouse, Willownose took the opportunity. "Willownose," she corrected gently, with an open expression that hopefully would show the girl she wasn't upset, "though Willowrose is certainly a prettier name." Gesturing with her tail toward the open space near her, the dilute calico pushed the mouse forward a little. "And this mouse is for you. Hungry?" She paused a moment before continuing, trying to find the right words that wouldn't make things seem... awkward. Willownose was always just a whisker's breadth away from being awkward. "How are you settling into life here? I know it hasn't been that long, but what do you think?" She never understood why other warriors and apprentices talked down to kittens like they were babies. Well, she supposed that technically they were babies, but Willie figured that she might as well talk to them like adults right from the beginning. They were almost always smarter than anyone gave them credit for, and she sensed a maturity in Elpis that came with the territory of being alone. She knew it well. "Go ahead, eat if you're hungry." She hoped the encouragement would be enough.
