In a slightly resentful way, Duskpaw thought about the fact that when she had been made an apprentice, Dawnkit, Moonkit, and Emberkit had been 1/2 a month old, which meant 5 1/2 moons ago. 6 moons of warrior training were needed before they became warriors, unless some special event happened. Duskpaw wondered doubtfully if she would be able to mentor Dawnkit, Moonkit, or Emberkit like Shadestream had when she first got her apprentice. Duskpaw longed to be a warrior, and she knew Swiftpaw felt so too in the jealous but not unkind looks she sent Shadestream. Of course, Flamepaw should become a warrior too! Then she saw Eagletalon padding towards her and Swiftpaw, looking immense compared to them.

Eagletalon padded through the woods, collecting his piles of prey along the way. When he returned to camp, his mouth bulging with prey, he set it down and went to talk with Swiftpaw and Duskpaw. "Hey, how's the training going," he asked with interest. They both muttered that it was great. However, they sounded slightly dishonest. Remembering the days when he was still Eaglepaw, he softly mewed, "You want to be warriors, don't you?" As the apprentices ducked their heads, mortified, he shook his head with amusement. "Don't worry, that moment will come soon," he meowed solemnly.

"That's fine by me, if Tawney and Blossom wish to stay," Lionflame meowed. "But I am not going back to that Clan," he spat. Then he turned to leave, but stopped short as he turned again to speak. "My territory will be close by, near the stream, if you are going to look for me," he meowed.

"How much longer would they have to wait," Duskpaw wondered. After all, she and Swiftpaw were both almost 12 moons old, older than when Shadestream had been made a warrior. Of course, she couldn't bring herself to feel resentful to either her friend or her new mother who had taken them into the Clan. She had waited patiently with Swiftpaw for their warrior ceremony, but she was starting to grow impatient. "I guess we'll have to finish our training before our warrior ceremony," she muttered with a sigh. But she couldn't help thinking that before they had joined the Clan, they had started their training at 4 1/2 moons, and were able to hunt as good as a Clan apprentice or warrior at 5 moons. At 5 1/2, they had sharpened their battle skills in case a fox came. At 6 moons, they had been accepted into the Clan. So wouldn't that be already more than six moons of training? Sighing, Duskpaw lay down with her head on her paws and fell asleep in the sun.

Lionflame glanced doubtfully at Blossom. After all, the she-cats probably both liked "Marrow" more than him. He glared with hatred and fury in his eyes at the dark cat, whipped around, and disappeared into the shadows. After leaving, he raced towards the stream, hate and rage giving him energy. "Why does he have to take away the one cat I've ever actually liked from me?" he wondered. Then he corrected himself, because Blossom had been nice too. Shredding moss from the roots of some trees, he carried bundles over to a large dip in the earth in the roots of a great oak. There, he had already piled some ferns, and he added the moss. As he stood back, he realized that the dip actually looked quite comfortable. Then, deciding that it would be best to have a comfortable spot where he could overlook his territory and sleep there, too. Grabbing some more moss, he nimbly climbed up the oak, not dropping a single piece of moss. There was a nice, big crook where the branches spreaded out. He dropped his moss there, arranging it so it was comfortable. The branched provided good camoflauge and hiding spots, but still had gaps where he could look through. Satisfied, he went to hunt. Soon, he had a belly filled with mouse meat, and he lay down in his bed in the roots, and soon fell asleep.

Swiftpaw raced into the woods, joy filling her heart as she ran. Duskpaw right on her heels, she leapt over a stream and they caught up with the patrol. With round, curious eyes, Swiftpaw asked, "Who's that cat up there? Come down! We won't hurt you!" As Duskpaw licked her pretty creamy gray fur tinged with pink and ginger, Swiftpaw greeted the new cat in a friendly, but cautious way, in case he was hostile. Swiftpaw sat down, curled her tail neatly over her paws, and waited for the tom to come down.

By the way when Swiftpaw+Duskpaw get their warrior names here are the names I prefer, but you get to choose:
Swiftpaw- Swiftstream(MOST PREFERED, PLEASE CHOOSE), Swiftcreek, Swiftwater
Duskpaw- Duskfall(prefered), Duskfur, Duskpool(MOST PREFERED, PLEASE CHOOSE), Duskwater, Duskstream
    Thanks

"Hi," Duskpaw and Swiftpaw greeted the tom in a friendly way. "You must be hungry, let's go back to camp, you can get something to eat, and then we can talk," Swiftpaw invited with a questioning look at Shadestream and Hollyheart, wondering if she had said the right thing.

Lionflame stared at Blossom, waiting for an answer. He already missed Tawney. He groomed his handsome golden tabby pelt, and fixed his striking amber eyes on Blossom. Then, he got up, and beckoned for Blossom to follow him with his tail. Lionflame returned to the area where the dark cat and Tawney were talking. As he heard the dark cat's words, he trembled with barely suppressed anger. Then, he turned to make sure Blossom was still with him, and padded slowly into the clearing, making sure the dark grey cat understood that he was in no hurry. "Hello, Tawney,"he meowed evenly. "I've come back to tell you where my territory is," he announced, this time directing his words to Marrow. "The trees around the stream on both sides are my territory. I will respect yours if you respect mine. Blossom, Tawney, why don't you go with him? He knows this territory better than I do, so you'll be more comfortable with him," Lionflame meowed, pain stabbing him with every word he said. But Lionflame wanted to do what was best for them, and they would be more well-fed and sheltered with the dark cat. "But let me make this clear. I'm not surrendering, I am merely doing what's best for them," he meowed. Lionflame knew that if he growled, snarled, or hissed, it would seem hostile, and he was coming in peace. As Lionflame waited for the cat's response, he couldn't help noticing that Blossom and Tawney were both very pretty and graceful.

"When will we have our warrior ceremony," Duskpaw asked Swiftpaw. When her sister shrugged patiently, Duskpaw felt angry. They had already been training for 7 moons, 1 moon more than they even needed! Not to mention Shadestream had gotten her warrior name after 5 moons of training, and she had already been a warrior for more than a moon!
