Tar and fumes. The city's concentrated stench was a wall behind the young, half - tailed tom. It smelled of the city here too, but diluted as polydactyl black paws carried him further from the city's beating heart. It was quieter here. Smelled a bit like trash.

His black nose twitched thoughtfully for a moment as he scouted the air, his location. How much farther can it be? He thought impatiently, second - guessing the loner's words. Bloodclan, look for Bloodclan, your family will be there. That's what the mangy thing had told him.

Hound scoffed, wanting to hit himself on the head. How could he have been so gullible to believe a cracked out city - slicker? Paws hit the asphalt heavily as Hound lumbered along absentmindedly. All his golden hues had seen for the past couple days were the long grey slabs of roads and streets and tall buildings of brick. Maybe it was all just a story concocted by a crazy cat huffing car fumes all day everyday.

Hound was deep in his thoughts, tracking the smells and sights and sounds and then following them absently until realizing the sensations were stronger now. His pace quickened eagerly as he tracked the smell, something distinct. Gold hues spotted a trash bin, something for him to give his surroundings the eagle eye. Polydactyl black paws leaped atop the trash bin clumsily, scrabbling his way up.

Settling down into a seated position, the half - tailed youngster stared at the crimson building in awe. It wasn't close, but it wasn't far either — it was in his view's grasp. Deciding to scope out the eerie building before stepping anywhere near it, Hound stayed seated, alert, and molten gold orbs locked on the red house.

VALESKA- here he is..... the boy

A loud greeting startled Hound, scrabbling atop the trash can in surprise. Shaggy black fur spiked out in alarm began to settle after he realized she was pretty harmless despite her loudness. Golden hues were huge, unsure of what to do as she introduced herself and then proceeded to take a whiff of him. "Nice to meet you. I'm -" Hound began, but halted as his eyes caught sight of the tom that had approached. The other tom was huge, scarily so, and when he opened his mouth, Hound caught himself feeling a tad bit intimidated. "I'm Hound. I was told I got family here." He replied, his half - tail waving warily. "I only know one name," Hound said, staring at the big red tom, hoping he'd know, "The name is Jailbird." Tufted black ears flicked, and Hound was vigilant in watching Ida and the other tom's reactions, if they showed any recognition to the name.

Hound's eyes were steady as he eyed all of the cats bombarding him, seemingly coming out of nowhere. His half - tail waved behind him subconsciously as the large female spoke. Jailbird...her mother? What would that make her then, this she - cat? Hound tilted his head thoughtfully, his own hues narrowing as he studied her. "Jailbird is... my..." The fuzzy black tom pondered momentarily, maintaining the eye contact he had with her, "My dad's mom." That sounded right. Hound swallowed hard, a fight inside him for only a split second. He wiped his father from his mind. "Yeah, he's your mom's son." Hound gave her a hardened stare, this daughter of Jailbird. "She's here, isn't she?" Please say yes He thought, the thought sounding louder and louder in his head. He had come this far. Hound shook himself out of it before nodding affirmatively, he was here, this was the right place.

Hound's orbs grew larger in some bewilderment as the other tom, Caesious said to hell with his question, but when Hound noticed Caesious' barely - there smile, Hound returned it and nodded affirmatively with his own smile after the tom's introduction.

The booming voice and presence stole Hound though as molten gold eyes stared at another newcomer to the scene. His gaze flickered to her tail, or lack of one, it was sort of like his -- except his was 1 / 2 a tail, not completely bobbed.

Hound shook his shaggy head, her tail wasn't important right now, and the six moon old tom felt a hint of foolishness. Rotund and tufted ears perked at the name Baxton. That was his father alright. Hound grimaced in memory of his father before nodding fervently in affirmation. "I'm Hound." He replied, trying to maintain composure in front of everyone that had assembled. The shaggy black tom puffed out his chest, locking golden eyes with her own blue ones.

This was her huh? Hound had only ever heard bad things about her mostly, but he felt the want to impress her. "I was told to come find you here, he died, Dad." He spoke clearly, but some emotion betrayed Hound in his gaze. He wasn't sure if she knew, and he suddenly felt awfully sorry and stupid - if she hadn't known, he shouldn't have broke the news to her in such a way. His attention turned to the white molly that had also approached, but a feeling of guilt distracted him from everything that was going on momentarily.

Tar and fumes. The city's concentrated stench was a wall behind the young, stump - tailed female. She smelled of the city too, but it was diluted as polydactyl black paws carried her further from the city's beating heart. It was quieter here. Smelled a bit like wet tree trunks, and needle-covered path. Her barely - there tail was nothing more but a shaggy, docked, stump but it could still be seen frequently twitching and almost wagging as she made her way.

Her jet - black nose twitched thoughtfully for a moment as she scouted the air, her location. What is this place? She thought, a twinge queasy from this lost-ness she felt, and only towering trees and flora encircled her. Everything looked the same. Smells and sights Hound had never sensed nor experienced. A dog’s worn, rich brown leather collar swung back and forth on her scruff, a grim reminder of what she had left.

Hound scoffed, wanting to hit herself on the head. How could she have been so brainless to stay in Bloodclan for that long? She had joined a few moons ago in search of family, and she had found them. Despite her joining and time there, Hound never grew closer to her family ties, and was thoroughly nauseated by Bloodclan anyways.

She had gone there in hopes of escaping her past, but instead Hound found herself sleeping with one eye open and in a place where she didn’t belong. A place where regretful decisions were made by the large female. She struggled not to ponder on it right now.

So, she left. With no word, warning, or goodbye. They'll never notice Hound contemplated, more or less unperturbed by the fact.

Hound was deep in her thoughts, tracking the smells and sights and sounds and following them absently until realizing the sensations were stronger now. It smelled of ... others. Tall ears swiveled as uneasiness began to ruffle the inky female, and if this place was anything like Bloodclan ... well, it would be in her own best interest to leave, and quickly.

Hound's molten coppery-amber hues were acute and sharp, and huge raven - shaded paws started moving as she began to slink away. She was ever vigilant at the moment, trying her best to lurk away with zero attention.
