Skyclan - Apprentice - Female - 9 moons
― Mothpaw couldn't deny that her interactions with Riverclan felines had always been pleasant. There was none of that lingering tension she always felt when they patrolled Bloodclan borders--no feeling that one misstep would end in a physical altercation. She took a few more steps forward, closing some of the distance between the pair. "I'm Mothpaw." She introduced herself, voice light. The grin that Finchpaw returned to her flooded her chest with a pleasant warmth. She'd be sure to remember any cat who was so friendly right off the bat. It was a nice change from the often dry or empty sounding pleasantries exchanged on border patrols. Maybe it felt different because she was a medicine cat apprentice. "Oh, That's alright. It's not as if you were trying to cross it." She mewed with a gentle shrug. Her own eyes gleamed with at Finchpaw's next statement. She took another pawstep or two forward, closer to the border that separated their two clans. It wasn't an actual challenge by any means--only a gesture of daring playfulness. "Not unless you're feeling extra brave! But I think it'd be frowned upon if I tried to fight a medicine cat." She joked, head cocking slightly to one side.

Skyclan - Apprentice - Female - 9 moons
― Mothpaw felt her heartbeat picking up within in her chest. This was the kind of border mischief she could get behind. Certainly, if there was an actual threat Mothpaw wouldn’t take things so lightly. She had sometimes complicated feelings about borders and it often depended on the cat she was interacting with. At the very least, her loyalty to Skyclan outweighed just about everything else. Maybe she was feeling extra brave herself today. She took another tentative step forward, close enough so that the scent markers of Riverclan and Skyclan mingled together. She couldn’t imagine what Lavenderskies or Juniperpaw might think of this sight—standing close enough to a Riverclan apprentice to make out the details in her eyes. She hummed thoughtfully. “Well, I think it’d be rude of me to turn away a medicine cat if she was in need!” She purred, eyes glimmering. “So long as you don’t cause any trouble or try to pull a fast one on me.” She added with a mock lash of her tail, although the smile still hadn't left her face. Maybe she shouldn’t be pushing her luck here, on the off chance that a real patrol from either of their clans did make an appearance. But it wasn’t as if either of them had crossed. Besides, it didn’t take Mothpaw long to decide that she definitely enjoyed the other girl’s company. She had seen plenty of cross clan friendships before so she didn’t see the harm in making a few herself.

― Mothpaw's tail swayed behind her, excitement glimmering in her amber gaze. The branching oak was only a few tail lengths ahead of them now, with its branches and leaves looming overhead. The ashen molly wasn't one to back down from any challenges that presented themselves--this was especially true if the challenge came from a fellow apprentice. She certainly had a bit of a competitive streak. A confident smile settled on her muzzle, and she regarded Bloodpaw for a moment. That would make things interesting. There was no doubt she'd be giving her all if it meant getting out of nest-duty. "You're on, Bloodpaw!" She chirped enthusiastically. She took a few hurried steps forward, already sinking her claws into the bark and hauling herself up. "And don't even think about going easy on me!" She added, voice light and teasing.

― Mothpaw wasn't one to turn down any sort of adventurous activity. She had been in and out of her own slumber, eyes closed but not quite fully asleep yet. Her head rest upon white tipped paws, and these were the few moments where she wasn't bubbling with energy or busying herself with a task. The voiced of Bloodpaw and Juniperpaw were enough to stir her. She lifted her head up, blinking bright amber eyes at the two of them. She was already on board with the whole idea, but she'd much prefer to have the extra company. Before giving her own answer, she looked at Juniperpaw with an expectant grin. Pleased to see that he was joining, she hauled herself out of her nest. "Sounds fun to me! I'm in." She purred gently, in case any of their other denmates were asleep. She nudged Juniperpaw on the way out of their shared den, "Well we'd just better not get caught then." She mewed, playfulness glimmering in her eyes.

― Mothpaw could smell the scent of Riverclan mingled with lavender and fresh grass at this vicinity. It made her head swim in a pleasant sort of way. She wasn't sure she'd ever been this close to a cat from a neighboring clan. She focused on the girl's vibrant eyes, trying to do so without looking at her too intensely. Their color reminded her of the river where Finchpaw's clan got its name. She wondered for a moment how different their training must be. She didn't know the first thing about herbs--truthfully, she didn't think she could even name more than two. She certainly couldn't tell you what they did. Even their interpersonal relationships must differ, simply because they've taken two different paths. Mothpaw wasn't sure she'd continue such warm conversation with another warrior apprentice. Not because she wouldn't have wanted too but it was just...different. She wasn't sure how to explain it. "Oh?" She couldn't help the giggle the bubbled in her throat at Finchpaw's goofy grin. She settle into a mock crouch, as if she were ready to pounce on the seal point molly before her. "Think you could take on a warrior in training? I have to say, I think you'd be impressed by my moves!" She teased, unable to keep herself from returning a similarly goofy grin.

― In all honestly, Mothpaw hadn't expected Finchpaw to reciprocate the action. She wasn't sure what she had been expecting. But to get into a play fight with Riverclan's medicine cat apprentice wasn't it. However, that only made her enjoy it all the more. Maybe she really could impress her with her fighting knowledge. She was pretty confident in them, despite having much left to learn. She had a little over half of her apprenticeship to still get through, after all. That certainly wouldn't stop her from trying. "Well, don't say I didn't warn you!" She chirped, whiskers quivering. She ducked away from her outstretched paw, trying to quell her laughter. She didn't want Finchpaw to think that she was laughing at her. She truly wasn't. But the whole situation was a bit silly, wasn't it? "You'll have to be quicker than that, Finchpaw!" She teased, haunches wriggling before she went to make her own move. She shot forward quickly, but still kept her movements gentle enough. She thrust her paws softly against the girls chest, tumbling forward with her. If all went as planned, she'd end up with her pinned beneath her own weight. Perhaps she shouldn't have gone with such a full-contact move right off the bat. But it was all too easy to forget about borders for a fleeting moment when you were enjoying yourself enough.

― Mothpaw's nose was just shy of brushing the Riverclan apprentice's. She met her gaze with the kind of warm smile that reached her eyes. "It was a valiant effort!" She purred, a hint of teasing still in her voice. She searched Finchpaw's face for a moment. Her heart was thrumming so furiously in her chest she was almost certain that the other girl must be able to hear it. With her paws pressed gently into her chest and the two of their faces so close, she really wouldn't be surprised. It was at the mention of Wildseas that her head tilted to one side curiously. Yes, Bloodclan's deputy-now-leader was a hot topic in Skyclan. The idea of the tom always left a bad taste in Mothpaw's mouth. She had yet to be present for any of his more violent actions but he had been responsible for harm coming to one of Lavenderskies' kits. She had heard many times about his carelessness and ability to harm cats who were merely apprentices. She had heard plenty about what he had done to a Riverclan apprentice and- oh. She felt rather silly for not piecing that together sooner. "That was you?" Her voice was hushed, only for a moment. Well, if that didn't give her reason enough to solidify her dislike for the Bloodclan leader. She gave a thoughtful hum. "Well, I'll tell you what...you let me know if he tries anything again. I bet if we paired up we'd take him down in no time!" She mewed firmly. She realized very suddenly that she should probably let her up. Her face felt hot beneath her fur as she peeled herself away from her, sitting back on her haunches and offering an uncharacteristically sheepish smile. Starclan, Greenleaf must really be heating up. "I bet we'd make quite the team." She mused. It'd be perfect--herb and fighting knowledge together? Mothpaw figured that must be why you had to choose one or the other or it'd make you quite the formidable opponent.

― Mothpaw looked pleased as could be when Finchpaw agreed to her plan. Really, she doubted she’d ever meet Wildseas in battle. Although, if you had asked her a moon or so ago she might have thought differently. But some of the tension between Skyclan and Bloodclan seemed to have dissipated. Still, it made her feel better to know she hypothetically had a pleasant ally on her side. She regarded Finchpaw for a few moments, a sort of softness in her face that hadn’t been there before. Mothpaw had play fought and gotten into plenty of mischief with fellow apprentice’s before but something about this encounter felt different. Maybe it was just exciting to speak to someone outside of Skyclan or maybe it had to do with how distracting the blue of Finchpaw’s eyes were. Whatever it was, she enjoyed it. Her ears perked up when Finchpaw got ready to face her a second time, and an eager grin returned to her own face. “So you must be feeling brave then!” She teases with a purr rumbling in her throat. However, she let out a tiny yelp of surprise when she got cuffed around the ear. She’d chalk that up to being distracted. She decided she wouldn’t take her down right away—it would be a lot more fun if their “fight” lasted longer than one of them could blink. She whirled around to stand behind Finchpaw, clamping her tail softly between her jaws. She wasn’t applying any pressure, and it’d be easy enough for the molly to slip away. “Gotcha!” It came out as a muffled giggle through her tail fur, eyes sparkling triumphantly.

― Mothpaw lay sprawled on her back within the apprentice's den. Greenleaf had been steadily approaching and now there were nights where the inside of the tree felt a bit too stuffy for her liking. However, she'd take this winter over the cruel, cold grip of leafbare any day. The ashen molly's eyes were closed, but there were no signs that she was actually asleep. Her whiskers quivered, and she shifted positions every several moments or two. Her nights weren't often plagued by lack of sleep, but there were times when she felt too wired to get any resting in. She was worried for Lavenderskies well being, after the loss of her litter. She was worried about Juniperpaw and whether or not the tom was getting any sleep himself. She blinked her eyes open momentarily, to take a peek at his nest. She might have been a bit distracted by thoughts about one of Riverclan's medicine cat apprentices.
She rolled over onto her stomach, eyes opened to narrow slits in the darkness. She peered out of the dens entrance, debating stepping out for a night stroll. It wasn't until she saw several flickers of light pass by the den's opening that her head perked up. "Huh?" The sleepy murmured came under his breath as she pushed herself into a sitting position. Little bits of yellow flitted past the den, and she was sure she had even spotted a red one. That was enough to get the young apprentice to her paws, swiveling her head around to see which of her denmates were up. "You guys-" She was already eagerly picking her way to the exit, swerving around sleeping bodies. "Come see this!" She chirped eagerly, unworried about upsetting anyone by waking them. Hey, if there were any heavy sleepers, they'd likely not have even heard her. She descended their den in a few short bounds. Her eyes turned upward, lit back only by the light of the moon and the several fireflies flying around her and Skyclan's camp. She was enamored, to say the least.

― Mothpaw offered a wide smile of greeting to Hurricane paw when she saw the older tom. She supposed she should be surprised to see him up, but it seemed a lot of her clanmates were missing out on sleep lately. Mothpaw was nearly going cross eyed as she tried to follow each firefly with her gaze. She'd follow one for a while before a new flicker would catch her attention and she'd be swiveling her head around again. It really was quite the site--made all the better when Juniperpaw followed her out of the den. Her usual chipper moods were made all that more intense when they were paired together. She tried to stifle a giggle at the tom's comment, smirking in his direction. She knew she ought to keep quiet if they didn't want to disturb anyone who actually was asleep. "Or we'd get really good at blinding our enemies." She joked, a purr rumbling within her throat. Suddenly her ears perked up again. "Oh!" She chirped, bounding a few steps forward and towards the center of camp. A pale-green glow caught her eye as it flitted by, slow moving and emitting its soft light. "This one matches your eyes, Juniperpaw!" She sounded pleased with herself for having noticed. She hadn't expected quite this variety of colors and, maybe you'd call her easily entertained, but she was thoroughly enjoying this light show.

― Mothpaw gave a playful snort as the girl yanked her tail away from her grasp. "All's fair in a battle between warriors!" She announced, mock triumph in her voice. Oh, Well she supposed that wasn't quite right. "It counts for medicine cats, too!" She corrected quickly, grinning again. She knew that wasn't exactly true either, even if it were between two warriors. It wasn't all fair. High-energy and outspoken as she was, Mothpaw couldn't see herself acting violent out of anything other than self defense. She certainly couldn't see herself every intentionally taking the life of another warrior. For Skyclan, if the need was ever truly there, she supposed she'd do it. But the idea of it made her skin crawl. She gave a swift duck of her head to avoid Finchpaw's paw, although it was close enough she still almost felt it against her fur. She couldn't help but to be a bit enthralled by the seal point's movements. She looked a bit...silly, really. But in an endearing sort of way. Mothpaw would sound just as silly if she tried to talk about herbs. She really tried not to laugh when she took a tumble, but couldn't help the giggle that bubbled over. She brushed her flank against Finchpaw's to aid in her rising to her paws, "Oh, You've really given me a challenge." She purred teasingly. "Or...maybe I'm just such a talented warrior that my enemies fall before I've even touched them." Her voice was hushed, as if she were talking about something very serious, before she was laughing again. Her face scrunched up to try and avoid some of the dirt and grass spray, but her eyes were still sparkling with excitement.

― Mothpaw spent a lot less time near the nursery since Junierpaw has been apprentices a few moons ago. Had it already been multiple moons? Time seemed to have been going by so quickly lately. However, Skyclan's numbers were small but it seemed their kit population was growing. It was hard not to run into a tiny feline or two around camp. The molly didn't mind though--she could usually keep up with kits abundance of energy. She approached Lambkit and Juniperpaw, amusement glimmering in her amber gaze. "Well, it's only a problem if you get caught!" She chirped jokingly, flicking the cinnamon tom's ear playfully with her tail. "Don't...don't actually sneak out. I don't Lavenderskies would be very happy with me if she knew I was encouraging that." She added hurriedly after a few heartbeats with a sheepish smile towards the kit. She had only ever made that attempt once when she still resided in the nursery and she hadn't made it very far at all. Skyclan had always seemed exceedingly safe in her mind but to a kit...there was probably plenty of danger they could get into. She understood being discouraged. She absolutely detested being confined to camp. Even as an apprentice she'd get a bit grouchy if she didn't get out enough. "On the bright side, not being able to leave camp gives you plenty to look forward to for when you can!" She offered, hoping Lambkit wasn't feeling too crestfallen about his predicament.

― Mothpaw had been...uneasy. She supposed that was one way of saying it. Having a Bloodclan feline within their camp--and not just some random cat, either. No, Wildseas was their leader. She hadn't been on the patrol that had found the injured tom. He must've been in quite the state for him to have been brought back here. Then again, the feelings about Bloodclan seemed to be mixed depending on which Skyclan cat you spoke to. Mothpaw teetered back and forth, and she walked a fine line of neutrality and boiling dislike. Lavenderskies words were hard to ignore, especially as her mentor, deputy, and someone she trusted. It was unlikely for her to disagree with most things the molly had to say. But her dearest friend Juniperpaw didn't take quite as distasteful of an approach. He had valid points as well. It was really her introduction to Finchpaw that had Bloodclan leaving such a sour taste in her mouth. She was quite fond of the medicine cat apprentice, and knowing the cat responsible for her injury was being aided in their medicine den made the fur along her spine prick with indignation.
The ashen molly rose to her paws when she saw him lumbering from the den. She was unsettled by the sight of him, a small frown forming on her maw as she watched. That's when she saw Lambkit enter the scene, and she stiffened. Wildseas wouldn't dare harm a Skyclan kit after they'd given him aid, would he? She didn't think so but...she also might not put it past him. She swallowed hard as she approached the pair. There was no hiding his injuries...and she pelt a pang of sympathy in her heart for him. She didn't really enjoy seeing anyone injured in such a way. "Wildseas." She meowed, both an answer to Lambkit's question and an acknowledgment or greeting. There was something else on the tip of her tongue. A question? She wasn't sure if she should ask how he was feeling or how he had been injured in the first place. It felt odd, or out of place, as an apprentice to be speaking to him. "Do you need Brookfur?" She settled on finally. If he was having any more troubles with his wounds she definitely wouldn't be any help to him here.

― It was the smell of fresh Bloodclan scent that had Mothpaw's paws carrying her towards the border. She supposed it could be Wildseas' old trail but surely that'd be stale by now. The tension in camp seemed to have thickened again with the tom staying with them. It was an...odd situation, to have Bloodclan's leader being aided in their medicine cat den. Half of Skyclan's members were probably boiling at that fact and the other half seemed...neutral, at least. She picked up the pace when she heard chatting in the distance. It seemed her nose had been correct, as she came upon the scene half made up of her own clanmembers and half Bloodclan. She was almost surprised to see Ruth for a moment, before her amber eyes looked over the scarred tom beside her. She hadn't met him before...and she hadn't seen Ruth since before she stepped down as leader. "Here for Wildseas?" She mewed, glancing at Hurricanepaw as he spoke. He certainly seemed more sympathetic towards the situation than Lavenderskies. Mothpaw would feel better about the whole thing once the Bloodclan leader was on his way. "Surely he's well enough to travel?" She said with a small frown, "He'll be able to heal in his own medicine den now." There was no real ill-intent behind the apprentices words. She was sure everyone would be happier once everyone was in their respective camps.

― Mothpaw felt...light. Not in the literal sense, she supposed, but enough that it felt rather literal. Laughing alongside a girl whose kindness was contagious would probably be enough to have anyone feeling pretty giddy. Or maybe it was just her? She could imagine Finchpaw having this affect on plenty of others. It reminded her of how easily her enjoyment came when she spent time with Juniperpaw but not quite in the same way. It was similar but Juniperpaw didn't make her heart pound quite so easily. She found herself feeling a tad disappointed when Finchpaw stepped away from her, so she could no longer feel her smooth pelt pressed against her own or feel her warmth. Or...maybe it was her own warmth she was feeling? Either way, she still felt rather hot beneath her pelt, even when they were no longer touching.
She hummed thoughtfully, "Well, if I absolutely had to be defeated by a medicine cat I'd rather it be you." She mewed, a hint of laughter still in her voice. She couldn't help but to beam a bit at Finchpaw's compliment. If complimenting her warrior abilities wasn't the quickest way to her heart, she didn't know what was. It made her expression soften and her eyes warm as she looked back at Finchpaw. "I promise, I'd probably sound twice as silly if I tried to memorize any herbs." She huffed with a shake of he head. She couldn't imagine learning all of that. There was so much. Her ears straightened on her head, "Oh! Um...poppy seeds." She knew Juniperpaw had asked for those once, but what on earth they were for had entirely slipped her mind. Maybe she wanted to impress the Riverclan molly more than she wanted to admit. Her nose scrunched up, and it looked like she was channeling all of her energy into trying to remember. "Well...they do...something." Technically that wasn't...incorrect. But the vagueness of her own reply made her laugh.

― Mothpaw truly couldn't imagine fighting a medicine cat...Well, she sort of just did. But she couldn't imagine doing it for real. Brookfur was so kind and maybe not every medicine cat was like that. However, she'd met two now. Brookfur and Finchpaw and the latter was exceedingly pleasant to be around. She didn't she'd ever find herself in a situation where she needed to fight any of them...She hoped not. Something about it would feel wrong. There had to be something morally corrupt about harming a cat whose only job was to heal. Maybe that's why the idea of Wildseas harming Finchpaw made her blood boil. A lightbulb seemed to go off in her mind as soon as Finchpaw explained the herbs use. "Oh!" She chirped, and then gave a shy sort of smile at her own forgetfulness. Of course that was it! Juniperpaw had such an awful time sleeping she should've known it had something to do with some form of sedation. "I knew that of course! I was obviously just...testing you." She purred teasingly. Maybe she wasn't all that interested in medicine before but suddenly she felt like she could be. Not for herself but maybe as an excuse to hear Finchpaw talk. Was that weird? She didn't really care for the time being. She was a bit too busy focusing on Finchpaw and listening her to worry about it.
"You must be really smart...to have to remember all of that." The comment came out softly, her voice lower than before, as if it were half spoken to herself. If the vast array of herbs in Brookfur's den was any indication, there was a lot to know. She didn't think warrior training took that same sort of brain power. Maybe it should, but it wasn't always the way Mothpaw handled things. She cast a look over her shoulder once, suddenly reminded that her clan was still waiting for her back home. Really, a patrol could come by at any moment. The thought made her heart race a bit, for a variety of different reasons. Why did she feel like she would be getting caught doing something she wasn't meant to be? They hadn't done any harm...Maybe the border had been a bit forgotten about but no one stole any pray or fought. For the first time ever, she had the fleeting thought that their border system was rather silly.

― "Definitely passed. You'll be a full fledged medicine cat in no time at all." Mothpaw meowed, head cocking to one side just slightly. There was still a lightness in her tone but she also meant what she was saying. In the idealistic part of her mind, she could picture the both of them completing their training together and being so fantastic at their respective roles their names would be on the tongue's of all the clans. Although, they probably could never be that closely associated together. Not in a way that they'd be talked about in the same sentence. At least, they probably shouldn't be. That thought sort of left Mothpaw feeling like her heart was being squeezed. She really had been quite the stickler for rules about borders and cross-clan relationships. But looking back at Finchpaw, searching for something in her blue eyes, she really felt for a moment that it didn't matter all that much after all. She studied her features when Finchpaw's voice trailed off. Looking at her with soft evening light surrounding them both had her holding her breath without meaning to.
She only released it slowly when mentions of camp brought her back to reality--the reality that, yes, borders and rules were still very much a thing. They had these rules for a reason. It wasn't all that odd for Mothpaw to be out of camp for lengthy amounts of time but if there were patrols or training sessions she wasn't there they'd certainly notice then. "Right." She swallowed, and it was impossible to miss the disappointment in her tone. She blinked nervously when Finchpaw took a step towards her, but she was quick to respond with her own tentative step forward. She looked as if she were trying to decide whether or not to speak before it came out all at once, "Can I see you again though?" She blurted abruptly, deciding within a split second that she didn't want this to be it. She hoped it wasn't too forward...Starclan, why was she so nervous all of a sudden? "I mean, only if you want to!" She added hurriedly. "We can meet somewhere and...and I can quiz you again." She added, a bit of the playfulness returning to her gaze. Although her voice was still soft, gentle...She didn't want to scare her away. She hoped desperately that she wasn't the only one feeling these sorts of feelings. It really was a bit overwhelming but in an exciting way--a way that made her feel hopeful for what would come next.

― Mothpaw looked as if she must’ve just received the best news of her life when Finchpaw agreed to her offer. There was a part of her that had expected a rejection where instead she found the same eagerness to see one another again. Really, Finchpaw would’ve had every right to deny her request on the basis of the code and rules their clans were supposed to abide by. The amber in her own eyes brightened even further than before, a purr edging its way out of her throat. She searched the girls face, wondering if her joke wasn’t as much of a joke as it sounded. “I’ll hold you to that.” Mothpaw jested. But there was a hint of a challenge in her voice, daring Finchpaw to make good on that promise. Daring her to push their luck just a little bit further than they did today. Although she wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t. Regardless, she’d be looking for her when the full moon came. Mothpaw still wanted to hold tight to the fact that they weren’t really doing anything wrong.
But the way she felt her heart rate quicken, and not just from her proximity to Finchpaw, when she smelled her clanmates on the breeze...Maybe she wasn’t entirely convinced that this was all innocent. She wanted to be and at least she could pretend for now. If someone were to catch them then that might be a different story. It happened all too quickly for Mothpaw to even be surprised when she felt her fur against her cheek. She was soft. Her eyes fluttered close for a fleeting moment at the touch, and by the time she was blinking them open she was already pulling away. "See you soon." She murmured after her, although Finchpaw was certainly already too far gone to hear. At least for the time being Mothpaw could hold onto that shared moment between them, to tide her over until they did meet again. Her eyes lingered on the spot that the girl disappeared into before she turned quickly to make her way back home again.

― Over the last few sunrises it had been hard for Mothpaw's mind not to wander back to a few days ago. Her meeting with Finchpaw had certainly given her a lasting impression, if he impatience to meet with the girl again was any indication. The memory of their meeting had her stomach doing somersaults if she thought about it too much. It was sort of exciting though, wasn't it? She knew they had both intended to meet again. So maybe that was why she'd taken an extra walk or two towards the Riverclan border. She didn't even go all the way to the edge of Skyclan's territory, where it dipped into the territory that Finchpaw called home. She'd get close enough to detect any patrols or lack thereof and turn in a new direction when she didn't find what or who she was looking for. It wasn't all that odd for her--at least, it wouldn't be perceived that way. Mothpaw rarely spent too much time inside of camp anyhow. This was simply routine for her.
It was the scent of Berylbreeze that caught her attention first as her paws carried her closer to Riverclan territory. The smell of a tom that was still just a tad unfamiliar, but taking on more and more Skyclan attributes with each passing day. Her pawsteps were eager and amber eyes searching when she came upon the two felines. She was just in time to hear words from Finchpaw--I need to see Mothpaw. It felt like her heart was being squeezed. She could've spared a greeting for her clanmate, but her eyes were on Finchpaw in an instant. "Finch-" She started, pulling up to the borders edge. Although, she wouldn't be so daring as to cross it with a warrior at her side. Thankfully, it seemed these two were friendly as well. Then concern flooded Mothpaw's gaze. "What happened? Are you okay?" Her voice was small when she asked, and there was a sense of urgency to the question.
There were about a million questions and things she wanted to tell her but they were caught in her throat. She didn't feel she could show the same sense of emotion she had in their first meeting, when there had been no watchful eyes. The sight of Finchpaw's injuries made her heart pound. She looked at Berylbreeze for a moment, concerned frown evident on her face, wondering if the source of the injury had already been disclosed with the tom before Mothpaw had arrived.
