    If only it were that simple. Dark grey paws aimed to slap down on the retreating tail of Briarkit. Ears flattened, the tom now has no way to communicate, given his paws are preoccupied. Green eyes glittered with worry. There was all types of danger out there, didn’t she get that? ‘Ear oo ink oo re oing?’ ~where do you think you are going?~ he questioned with a tilt of his head.

    Stormlion here with a dark clanner. Meet Cinderflame, the dark grey cat with a speech problem. If his paws aren’t clinging to escaping kits tails, then you’ll get sign language but other then that, you get broken up language.

    Cinderkit knew what it felt like to be abandoned. At a weak and young age, the grey kitten had been deposited in the cold mountain air, left to die. Broken mews called forth for the warmth he once knew, squirming to try and find mother’s belly and the warm milk that issued forth from it. Alas, all this did was make the earth tremble, before a rattling shook the snow he was deposited on, before an avalanche ensued. The snow sent the kitten tumbling down the slope, before it all came to a stop on what felt to the blind and deaf tom to form soil. Of course it took a lot of squirming and wriggling to break free from his ice prison. How he evaded detection from coyotes or worse was a mystery, crying out to a cold cruel world that seemed deaf to his calls for warmth and food. Before long he bumped, into something soft and warm, before he felt a rough scratching of someone’s tongue across the top of his head. Of course, assuming this was mother come back for him, his pink maw opened up in another anguished wail, before he was picked up and carted off to somewhere new. This new place being DarkClan’s nursery. He wasn’t then dropped gently into a nest with other squirming kits and an inknown scent of “not mother” . But the milk scent was too strong to not resist, and he greedily latched onto the female’s stomach.

    Of course, when he came older, they soon realized he couldn’t speak properly, and this led to others picking on him and making fun of him quite a lot. Ambershade tried to comfort him to the best of her abilities. Apprentice life was harsh as well, he become the punching bag whenever the mentors weren’t around. Warrior life was easy, yes. He had just to stay out of people’s way, and no one would hurt him. But it was lonely. Especially when the only mother he came to know, Ambershade, passed away due to Blackcough. “You’re not our sibling! Back off!” Rowanclaw growled, claws swinging for his head when he tried to help with the burial. Was it true then? Was he really not Ambershade’s?

    The golden tabby had assured him that he was her kit, but was it really true? He didn’t look like any of his siblings, or his mother. He was a darkish-light grey feline with a small splash of white across his muzzle, a stark contrast of their golds and browns. The tom found himself just sitting their as the party retreated, ears flattened to his skull. Why did she have to go?

    “Iftingheart! Iftingheart!” He cheered, kneading the ground with his paws. If only Ambershade were here to cheer with him. The second he saw Rowanclaw glowering at him from across the clearing, he shut up, ears lowering subconsciously. Why couldn’t his siblings accept him?

    The grey form of Cinderflame skunk through the territory, a solitary mouse hanging from his jaws. If he were to set it down and leave it, one of his siblings would come along and snatch it up for themselves. He wouldn’t put it past them. They almost cost him his hunting trial a moon ago! Through the scent of the freshly killed mouse, he caught the scent of outsiders. He veered towards it, eyes nearly watering at the sight of the frail kitten’s form. He dropped the mouse, ears tilting backwards a tad. A paw slapped over it protectively, for all he knew, Rowanclaw was just waiting to swoop in and steal it from him like the annoying jerk of an older sibling would do.

    ‘Arkclan erritory! Ame and zness?’ ~darkclan territory! Name and business?~

    He mewed, feeling ashamed he didn’t have the proper voice for this.

    The grey form of Cinderflame slunk to the border before stopping. Unlike his adoptive clan, he dared not set a single paw over that scentline. Sometimes he thought they had no honor, trekking over enemy clan borders as if they were nothing. The stone colored tom set the bundle of procured herbs down, giving his chest a few anxious licks. Hopefully, he’d be able to make out some negotiable terms, giving the herbs he’d taken in exchange for prey. He swallowed nervously. What would Ambershade say if she were here? That this was wrong? Of course, she’d also say stealing prey and crossing over borders was also wrong.

    {he has not set one paw over the border!}

    The grey tom swallowed as the female told him it wasn’t going to work. Please, we’re not finding enough food in our territory and this is safer then breaking rules and crossing borders. He signed out, going exasperated. Maybe begging for help hadn’t been the greatest idea, but he wasn’t going to give up.

    Hitting his tail wouldn’t faze him at all. He’d been hit and shoved around so many times growing up that he sort of hardly ever felt pain as if his tolerance had gone up. “Ant o utside. Gainst ules. Itchstar nd ‘bonyshade ery upset if o ut.” ~can’t go outside, against rules. Pitchstar and Ebonyshade very upset if go out.~ he mewed, twitching his tail.
