"I left a boy and came back... a boy with a bigger body!

The tom raised a metaphorical eyebrow in interest in what the younger apprentice had suggested. Fool. What Mothpaw didn't know was by moving the training to where they could climb, Bloodpaw would be at an advantage! He practically lived in trees, using them as his main method of travelling. With a over confident grin the tom was terrible at hiding the advantage he was getting from her choice. He went even further to suggest they made it a bet, now that he was sure that he was going to win. "So Moth, how confident you feeling? Say, winner cleans the other's nest for a week?"

On his travels, Bloodpaw had come across a dense undergrowth just on the edge of the Skyclan boarder. It had been a while since he had visited it as he was on his best behviour so he could finally past his warrior test and receive his name. However, something about the setting evening sun in late New-Leaf made the tom desperately want to go back. Himself had come across it in the middle of the night and he could never forget the sights. It was breathe-taking. Sitting in the apprentice den, he turned to the other apprentices and suggested they'd join him. "I don't want to stay in the stuffy den tonight... It's getting hotter and I know this really pretty place we can all go see!" he mewed in a hushed tone so none of the warriors heard his plans. "It's not inherently dangerous just extremely beautiful, especially at night!"

It wasn't uncommon for the dark ginger tom to be alone out of camp. He wasn't too close to anyone in the clan with the exception of the deputy and although he knew she'd prefer it if he left with others, Bloodorange knew their response to his invite already. It never bothered him. He was content with who he was and being alone and eventhough it may be nice to share his life with someone it was never a priority of his, to the point it really never crossed his mind.

Heavy pawsteps were leading him close to the Thunderclan border. The dried earth underneath him crunched as he failed to look were he was going. No. Instead the young warrior's gaze drifted across the border. His pale blue orbs scanned the brushes for something, maybe a patrol. There was someone in Thunderclan that he felt he clicked with and he wanted to see her again! Laurelpaw, the pretty small she-cat had welcomed him with an uncertain warmth that lingered in his chest ever since. For a moment, Bloodorange had though he had spotted the Thunderclanner but he quickly dismissed it. "Tch, you're imagining things. Why would she even be here?" he chuckled to himself as a coping mechanism to the disappointment.

The large young warrior had found a new resting spot on top of the warriors' den and frankly it was easier to see the camp from that spot. Having spotted Lavenderskies on her own, Bloodorange believed they'd finally have time to talk so he quickly moved from where he was perched. "Lav! Lav!" he called to the older she-cat as he skipped over to her wearing a dopey large smile like he normally would. Brushing his head underneath the grey molly's chin in greeting he then pulled away and purred "you got some time for your favourite apprentice?" he chuckled hiding his strong want for her to say yes. He wanted desperately to talk to her about the Thunderclan apprentice that had what seemed to be a permanent residence in his mind.

Being around the grey molly always brought a sense of warmth and he cherished it greatly. He would make sure the deputy knew how much she meant to him and like always wore his emotions as clear as the cloudless sky. With a wide grin the tom took a seat beside his former mentor and nodded in response. "Yeah its all good! Y'know its not really different. You get up, do the patrols you were assigned to and then relax," he purred, his whiskers twitching in amusement to his sudden discovery. Taking a moment to groom his white paws he continued "however I'm really enjoying the freedom of roaming the territory without guilt. And yes, don't worry I am staying within the boundaries now. I know it upsets you when I go on 'adventures' and like I said before, I believe I'm done with that life. Think I've finally grounded myself and besides even if I struggle to make friends within the clan, our borders are quite friendly." He didn't even realise how casually he brought up his like for the Thunderclan warrior, Laureltwist and maybe Lavenderskies wouldn't notice it either but with that the tom's mind was back onto the small she-cat from across the border and just like the other times he would wear a goofy smile.

The melodic call was enough to get the tom's heart racing. Since he had met the little Thunderclanner, Bloodorange couldn't help but wonder when he was going to see his new friend again. That day was then and the large ginger tom swiftly made his way over to her. It wasn't like Bloodorange to hide how he felt and so, with pale blue eyes glittering he purred excitedly "Laurelpaw! I was just thinking about you. I'm so happy you're here." Even if he was conscious about it there was no way he'd hold himself back. Bloodorange lowered his body to press his forehead against the soft fur of the grey she-cat who stood before him. Her cool demeanor had gone right over his head and he was just elated to see her once again.

As he was held close to Lauraltwist, he closed his eyes peacefully and enjoyed her embrace. It wasn't often Bloodorange was close to another cat. For some reason he struggle to make friends in his own clan, despite the deputy who was more of a close family relative, mentor. Although, he never really felt like he needed someone, he never really craved friendship, the tom couldn't help but love the warmth talking to Laurelpaw brought and it had stayed with him till this encounter. Bloodorange didn't really spare time to think about why she was alone on the borders or why she felt comfortable approaching him, he was just happy she was there.

Bloodorange ear's twitched as he groomed his fur from his comfort spot on top of the warriors' den. He narrowed his gaze to see Lavenderskies speaking so he quickly rose to his paws and went over. If she needed cats to go with her, he would happily go with her accept he wouldn't announce anything more than that. The tom scrunched his face in confusion but it was short-lived and soon his perked up and called out, "I'll join." With that he then waited patiently for the deputy to lead the hunt.

Seeing the confidence in the younger apprentice's eyes only got Bloodpaw even more pumped. He politely bowed his head to Mothpaw and meowed with his head down, "I've taken on a lot scarier things than yourself Moth,". When he lifted his head, he then dramatically dropped into his fighting stance. Bloodpaw was known for being a bit on the weird side, using his unpredictable nature to his advantage.

Having seen Mothpaw ready her stance, the tom would waste no time and leap into action. His powerful muscles bulged as he bolted towards the smaller she-cat, locking an intense glare at her. She would see it in his sky blue eyes, he had no intention of slowing down. No technique required. If she stood her ground, Bloodpaw would ram head first into her but if she didn't the tom would simply slip up a tree and along a branch ready to pounce at her from up above.

// fdkjbfhvab i always wondered why you never replied so after reading Moth had been hurt i looked for this thread.... my message never sent!!! I'm sorry again :( do you still want to continue this thread, maybe as an interaction thread instead? he could really use the friends XD

Forehead to forehead, Bloodorange let himself enjoy every moment of being close to his Thunderclanner friend. The large ginger tom could feel an overwhelming feeling to stay close to the lithe she-cat but as she pulled away he fought hard to pull her back in. Fortunately, he would once again be able to set his light blue gaze on Laureltwist which was enough to keep the wave of affection he felt present in his chest.

Never really understanding why the lithe grey she-cat had found almost permanent residence in his mind, Bloodorange didn't think too much into it. There was a cat in another clan who made him smile, to him it seemed friendly and innocent. As her words danced over to his ears, his face lit up with excitement. "Laureltwist you say? What a name!" he purred in admiration "Moonstar is pretty cool with names huh? What did she say when you receive it?" His own leader wasn't very close to him through no fault of her own. Minnowstar had spent some time with him before he'd left but he supposed that his warrior name was given as a subtle nod to his return. Having gone to the farm to find his father, Bloodorange returned with oranges as a gift and a game as some of them were sweet and refreshing and others were sour. Maybe the name was a reference to Bloodorange himself? To some such as his deputy and mentor, he was a sweetheart but to others he'd leave an unpleasant taste in their mouths.

Bloodorange lived for the happiness his Thunderclanner friend displayed, grinning widely at her pride and giddiness he let his fur relax in the peace he found by being by her side. When her shoulder nudged his, he laughed joyously and explained, "Minnowstar believed I had learnt everything I missed out on so yeah. You're now talking to Bloodorange." He jokingly lifted his head up and striked an attempt of a noble majestic before quickly breaking into another laugh "named after a farm fruit I brought back as a gift. Have you ever been to the farm?"

Something had been gnawing at the young warrior's mind lately as he found clueless paws wander close to the Thunderclan territory. Not caring what his Clanmates thought, Bloodorange would stand on the edge of the scented boundary and stare longingly into the green forest of Thunderclan. Most times he'd let hallucinations of Laureltwist put his confusion at ease but others he'd debate setting a paw over the line and finding out what was calling him. Stupidly, the lost tom never put the two ideas together.

Again, the bright ginger tom found himself where the two clans would meet but his attention was snatched by a blurr of light grey fur heading towards Fourtrees. "Laurel?" he uttered her name breathlessly. Lifting his nose he wondered if the sweet faint familiar scent was Laureltwist's but quickly decides that he wouldn't take the chance of it not being. Swiftly he bolted after the cat, his large paws thundering down on the earthy soil beneath him which soon became the hills that lead up to Fourtrees. Although he couldn't see her, Bloodorange knew all well she was still there and by now the scent was strong enough for him to know it was of his precious Laureltwist's. "Laurel? You out there? It's me Bloodorange. Are you okay?" his words rang with concern as he moved from one tree to another in attempts to find her. He had to find her, he couldn't let her be alone, something in him was making sure of it.

Her voice came as a bitter sweet shock to him for he was happy to be with her once again but he could her sadness rang clear. Turning to face the direction of the sound, he spotted, hidden in the roots of the large tree, her pale green orbs glistening with the water that welled in her eyes. "Hey, what happened are you okay?" he questioned her as he lowered her body so he could get a better view of her. The large tom wanted to curl up close, comfort her and shield her from the pain she was feeling but unfortunately, he couldn't fit into the undergrowth with her without his ginger fur being in her face. So, instead he laid patiently outside and began by gently placing his paw on hers whist mewing in a tone much softer than his usual excitable one

"It's okay to be upset, it won't scare me off." Words Bloodorange didn't hear often as he didn't really showed when he was upset, sometimes not recognising that what he was or other times purposely pushing it away.

With Laureltwist's gentle gaze on him, Bloodorange felt a wave of serenity flush throughout his body, where for once his high energy self was tamed and happily so. When her purrs graced the tips of his ears, Bloodorange would perk up and mimic her gesture but louder. He knew it to be a symbol of adoration and although he was void of romantic emotions (or unsure of what they were) there was nothing going to stop him from showing his friend how much he enjoyed her company. Looking down his side, into the softness of Laureltwist's eyes, Bloodorange responded, "it's a bit of a long story. I'll summerise it but feel free to ask me anything after, okay?" A gentle smile on his face the tom began to tell his sad tale, "I was not born from wanted love. Still an apprentice my mum passed after giving birth, leaving me with my mother's Love. He had chosen to look after me, hiding my true father's identity and taking the clan's wrath for being with an apprentice, but when my Mother died he couldn't care it. He named me Bloodkit for my mother's life and then a few moons later took off. When I was old enough I searched for him everyday and eventually tracked him down to this farm. He had another family.... He didn't want me either, even if his mate didn't mind. But Hey! Don't let my experience discourage you, the farm was lovely! " he perked up once he caught his tone darkening.
