A meeting? He had waited for this moment and he hoped that now he would be able to receive his new name from Sorrelstar. This would mark the beginning of his change. His new life and he gave a soft sigh as he stepped forward to take his place among the other felines that he partially knew. He was unsure of what the future held but he knew he wanted to be a part of Shadowclan. Be something in Shadowclan. There the flaming former Bloodclan sat, eyes of deep emerald looking up at Sorrelstar expectantly as he curled his tail around his paws. There was little to be said here and he wondered if she hated him still. Back when they had fought. When he had taken one of her lives then for Ruth dying. A frown pulled at his muzzle but he didn't say anything. Just waited.

Hearing himself being called forward was nerve wracking. He knew the things he had done and the things that some had witnessed but he had long since atoned for his mistakes and he distanced himself from Bloodclan. He had no wish to go back as his love was buried here. That life was buried here. Slowly the overly large tom made his way forward, his massive figure shifting with smooth control and not showing the anxiousness that he felt inside. He breathed in once and then out again as he looked at Sorrelstar, listening with apprehension the words she spoke forth to Starclan. Starclan. The cats that had once given him lives along with the Dark Forest. Who fought tug and war over the path that he would walk. Now he was here and trying to walk the path that would be more fulfilling. Breathing in he would allow a smile to pull across his scarred muzzle as his dark emerald eyes listened to his leader as she proclaimed him anew. His name. Emberthroat. It was..fitting and he dipped his head to Sorrelstar feeling as if he was renewed and perhaps different. Willowpaw would be proud of him he was sure. "Thank you, Sorrelstar. I want to thank you so much for giving me this chance."

The battle, he hadn't been at that battle but he had heard tale of what had happened there and how it had all come crashing down with Sorrelstar's death. Her final life being stripped away from her and she laid upon the thunderpath as nothing but a corpse. It was surreal that moments before she had been calling a meeting and telling others about what Shadowclan meant and how she had warriors who wished to change themselves and had named a new apprentice. Now she was gone from the world and up with Starclan. He liked to hope that she was happy there in the stars but he had nothing to say at her vigil. Vigils were meant to be silent after all that was what they meant to give an intensity to the moment of celebration or death. So the former leader kept his silence and instead he merely moved to the center of the clearing, eyes of emerald only holding a deep sadness for the fallen queen and fallen leader of Shadowclan. She had given him everything and he had hoped to prove to her that she was not wrong in her decision. Carefully he rested his nose against her throat, breathing in gently as he gave a silent wish to Starclan before he simply back away from the former leader and took a seat off to the side.

Humor spread over the older tom's maw as he saw the apprentice so eager to show off his kill come bounding in and tripping over his own paws. He wondered if he had ever been that excited about anything in his life? Perhaps when he had reunited with his best friend Wakefield but now he was probably dead in some ditch somewhere after everything that had happened between them. He wasn't sure if he was upset at the idea or not as they had been growing a part and had tried to make up after everything that had happened in Bloodclan but he was just unsure of if it had actually meant anything or not. Shaking his head the former bloodclanner would rise to his paws and make his way over that humor still managing to flicker across his maw now in an earnest smile. Large tail flicked as he pulled his ears back slightly. "Honeynose is right, that mud will come right off after a bit of washing. But congratulations on your catch Stagpaw, I'm sure an elder would love to have that rabbit for lunch." His eyes shifted to the side a bit to look at Fallowpaw, uncertain of the young thunderclan apprentice ever since their first encounter but he didn't speak on that currently.

So the end of Sorrelstar's reign came and the beginning of Briarthorn's started. The tom wondered how it would be and the male hoped that things would get back on track as they should be. Without the conflicts that were always going on and on between Darkclan and Shadowclan. A soft sigh left the large tom as he came forward, emerald gaze flicking up to look at the cats that would be departing. Gingerpaw would be staying behind which was all good and fine since there could always be some chance of something happening. A small and encouraging smile lifted up on his maw as he flicked his tail in slight encouragement at the whole ordeal after all he had went there once himself and it had been something. An experience that he would never forget truly. "I hope the journey will be safe for the both of you."

The trip had not been a long one, he was used to travel he supposed. After what had happened to the Blood House and finding himself in Skyclan multiple times he didn't mind having to take journeys to get to where he needed to be. The eastern border was primarily unclaimed lands, he liked to wander there a lot despite the fact that it broke his heart to be near that willow tree on the edge of Shadowclan's territory. But he knew that wherever Ruth was now that she was happy and whatever second chance she had managed to get she would still be happy. He prayed to Starclan that she was and he still visited her grave despite knowing that he was possibly given a second life. It was closure in a way he supposed but as he crossed the eastern border with three rats dangling from his jaws by their tails he would look over there, ears pulling back slightly before he turned away and continued to make his way back to camp. Mud stuck to his paws but he was learning to traverse Shadowclan's territory with ease, eyes narrowed slightly as he watched for more solid ground just so he didn't end up getting stuck in the mud, that would be the worst of it. But camp was soon ahead and he slipped inside before he dropped his three catches upon the ground, shaking his burning pelt before he picked up two of the rats to set them on the fresh kill pile. One he was going to give to one of the queens to help her make milk for her kits.

He never much hunted in this direction, it never proved to yield much and he found himself often hunting alone rather then with specific patrols. It had been like that since he had come to Shadowclan moons ago when he had isolated himself and it had just sort of stayed that way. He never thought about what it was that made him separate himself from the rest of the patrols that went out. But maybe he should start to include himself in more patrols or at least around the camp more. It wasn't something he thought on but he knew that he didn't know everyone and they probably didn't know him that well either. His name was changed now, he was a different cat than he used to be although he was not going to look back on his past but he did hope to visit Bloodclan once more despite having broken his oath. He would have to be careful though, he knew their lands like the back of his paw but he would never know what was going on with them at any given moment. Tragedy could have struck them and he sighed before shaking his head a little bit still believing that Bloodclan had much harder times living than some would think.

His emerald eyes narrowed slightly as he moved across the frozen ground, much of the mud having become solid and his head tilt tilted up slightly. He took in the scents of the area and tilted his head slightly in a measure of concern. Gingerpaw and Thornbite were both out here and he smelled something else. A foreign scent and that made the massive flaming tom make his way over to the two others but once he saw the kit he felt his body relax a bit. Now was not the time for a kit to be out here and on their own either. The marshes, the pine trees were not a welcoming place for something so small and he gave a small wave of his thick tail before speaking up gently. "Well, I think it's time we all head back to camp. It'll be safer there anyway and we can all introduce ourselves."

He was partially on his way to the nursery with one of the rats when he spotted Thornbite, he looked like he was trying to avoid detection which was rather odd to the large tom. It caused him to cock his head to the side and watch him out of the corner of his eye, tail flicking back and forth with a almost lazy manner. Humor was in his eyes though and he was about to drop the rat and speak up when he was distracted by the sudden yelling of some queens as Yarrowkit came bolting toward him. A warm purr left his throat as he gently set down the rat that he was carrying and he lowered himself just slightly to lightly poke his nose against Yarrowkit's. "And one day you'll be out there and bringing home the great catches yourself. I'll be proud to see that too." He smirked gently before he then nudged the rat closer to the young kit to see if he wanted to try it for himself as he wouldn't be bothered in going back out to get more of them. Though he slowly rose up as the medicine cat apprentice came forth from where he had been to stand protectively near Yarrowkit.

A thoughtful look entered the ex-bloodclanner but he didn't say anything as he was questioned about where he had gotten the rats from. The mentioning of carrionplace was also brought up and he never went over there. Those rats had more issues than the ones he was used to and he had no wish to be bitten by them and have to suffer through the sickness that often came with them. "No, these rats are pretty clean. Fit for the clan to eat and I'll be going out to get more if I can. Since I'm pretty sure Thornbite is trying to sneak himself one."

omg, no, ember would love yarrowkit tbh. he's always wanted a family but he can't have one biologically cause he was neutered during his kittypet moons

if yarrowkit doesn't have like parents ember would love to adopt : )

The idea of Sorrelstar being gone was sort of surreal. She had been leader long before he had rose up and became Bloodclan's leader. He still remembered the attack on Shadowclan where Ruth had lost a life thanks to then Tigersparks if he remembered it correctly. It had been and eye for an eye then and he had fought Sorrelstar and let her know that her traitorous warrior wouldn't be able to protect her and he had been right. While he was going for the glory kill of his own leader he had went for the burly brute's. He had taken a life from Sorrelstar that same day as Ruth had lost one of her's. A frown marred his expression, he had been deputy then and he had stood proudly over her fallen figure before retreating with Ruth in tow. It had been a stalemate then and he sighed before shaking his head. At the time he understood what was necessary and he knew he didn't regret what he had done, In times of aggression he did what he thought was necessary, but he hadn't thought that so soon after his own downfall that Sorrelstar would be gone. Walking forward toward the two the massive somali would give a light nod of his head as he curled his tail against his body. Deciding that he would go along with him. "I'll come along with the both of you."

Thorny yeah I'm totally up for it being plot development to see how it will go

STAGHEART Ohh yeah that that sounds like a good dynamic cause I would still think that some would be uneasy about him still especially since he did take one of Sorrelstar's lives at one point and fought against Shadowclan as a whole

He jolted when the sound of an apprentice speaking the beginnings of his former name. Unsure of how to respond still he understood who it was that had called out to him and had corrected themselves. It was Fallowpaw the thunderclan apprentice that he had saved from a terrible fate with a fox and he blinked a couple of times, emerald eyes looking a big guard simply because she knew his name before and he wasn't sure of how that was. He had never met her before and his tail swayed back and forth with a bit of unease. Yet he found himself turning fully toward the apprentice and making his way over to her. "Sure, I have some time. What do you need, Fallowpaw?" Alone, he could tell that this was something important and he didn't know if it was going to be good or bad. But he felt no inclination to just say no to the young she-cat and so he motioned for her to follow him out of camp and off into the marshes where they could be alone and talk in peace.

He was moderately late to the meeting and he felt bad about that. But he was having some small things going on currently. The massive flaming tom made his way over to the area and he allowed himself to sit at the back of the group so he didn't disturb anyone that was already listening intently. He picked up words about the whole Darkclan and Shadowclan thing and he wondered if Briarstar would allow for him to come along. He could help with the peace talks and perhaps his sister would listen to him after everything that had happened in the recent moons. He looked at his leader and he thought about speak out but this was a meeting and there was time for asking stuff later on. So he resulted in staying silent and he agreed the prey thieves should be punished for their actions. They had deliberately broken the code and stole prey which had led to their leader's death and he found that something severe should happen. At least in his mind something severe should be but perhaps that was the Bloodclan side of him that was speaking up. He sighed softly and wrapped his tail around his paws, hoping that everything would just calm down now after all of this and he pulled his ears forward to listen intently.

Humorous was how he found this situation, the older warrior having been passing by when he heard Hornetsting's call and the kits came flocking toward him. He had never seen anything like it before, at least not with plants. Normally twolegs had their strange paints and he remembered one that was activated with water and used to draw on the walls. But this was a different realm entirely and he turned his direction toward the gathering group of children and the one adult. "Hey, Hornetsting. Looks like you have your paws full." The brute hummed softly as he looked at the kits, shifting his scarred figure before he allowed his paws to lightly dip into one of the colors, a bright yellow that stuck to his pelt with ease and showed off vibrantly. "Hey. I'll let one of you paint me whatever you'd like. Go at it." The large somali would lower himself to the ground, and pull his tail slightly closer to his body. He was ready to be colorized and a light smile pulled against his scarred muzzle as he pulled back his ears slightly.

"Briarstar, ah, I'd like to come with you to Darkclan. I might be able to help you with talking to my sister." The sister that he hadn't talked to in so long, one that probably didn't know of Ruth's fate or even his own. A sigh left his throat after a moment before he came forward, slipping his way through the group of cats that were already forming around the leader. The massive tom allowed his deep forest green eyes to focus on the woman he put all of his trust into. He had indeed changed his life for the better or so he hoped that he had. He was living a different life now and he was bounding himself to the code. He was not quite sure on Starclan yet but he was working on that he supposed. A wistful smile lingered on his scarred muzzle and he settled down upon the ground there, curling his thick tail around his paws. "If you'll have me that is. I understand if not."

The smell of blood was easy enough to detect, something that had come to be something that was commonplace for his sense. Especially given his former background but the Shadowclanner ventured forth without fear in his eyes. He had long since learned that being afraid could often mean death from hesitance and he couldn't allow time to slip by, especially if someone was hurt and he could detect that it was not blood from any prey. The overly large flaming brute would slowly advance through the marshes, stepping over frozen ground and his deep green eyes would narrow as he rounded a pine tree. Nettles upon the ground dampened his pawsteps enough that he was quiet upon his approach but he had not yet gotten the trick of stealth that all Shadowclanners knew. Though right now that didn't matter, right now he was looking upon the figure of a silvery tom. One that was hurt and slumped upon the ground looking worse for wear. He could see the wound against the other's side and he slowly walked closer, so that the other could see him, gaze a bit concerned. "Well, you look like you've seen better moons...." His voice was a soft murmur, a gentle chuckle as he paused a bit away from the other tom. "You are on Shadowclan's territory by the way. I'm Emberthroat and I can get you to some help if you want it." He carefully moved a bit closer but he didn't want to invade the other's space but if he wanted to he could use his body to lean on so he could walk.
