Fernkit lunges at Thistlekit, knocking him off balance.

Thistlekit jumps up, knocking Fernkit away. Then he tackles Echokit, making sure that Echokit lands on top.

Fernkit hesitated, then sunk his fangs into Thistlekit's leg.

Thistlekit cried out, pain blinding him.

Thistlekit clenched his teetch, ripping his leg free.

Fernkit slashed his claws down Thistlekit's face.

Thistlekit let the blood drip down his face. Then he lunged at Fernkit, pinning him down.

Fernkit kicked, pushing Thistlekit away.

Thistlekit hit the ground with a soft thud. Panting, he tried to scramble to his paws.

Fernkit bit into Echoit's paw.

Thistlekit swayed a bit, then kept for Fernkit, raking his claws across Fernkit's back.

Thistlekit pulled his claws in and swiped at Echokit's face.

Thistlekit panted, his blood dripping into the sand.

Fernkit sat up. "I don't want to do this again!"

Thistlekit started to walk, then fell, panting.

Coyotepaw nudged Crystalpaw. "Cmon. Let's go congratulate them."

Thistlekit wiped a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth. "I'm fine."

Fernkit sat up. "Same here."

Coyotepaw helps Thistlekit sit up. "Where did you learn to fight like that?"

Coyotepaw smiled. "I'm glad."

Thistlekit stood up unsteadily.

Fernkit stretched. "I hope Echokit is okay."

Thistlekit tucked in his leg and limped beside Crystalpaw. "I told you everything would be fine."

Fernkit looked up. "Echokit! We're apprentices now!"

Thistlekit limped more steadily. "Don't worry. We won't have to do that again."

Fernkit nodded. "Hey, if we are apprentices, shouldn't we change our names? Or does that happen when Blossomstar gives us our mentors?"

Fernpaw smiled. "For a moment, I was worried I wasn't going to pass."

Thistlepaw nudged his brother. "I wouldn't let that happen."

And just like that, the roleplay was forgotten.

Coyotepaw purred. "I don't think that's how it works, Echopaw."
