-extroverted and talkative; he genuinely likes to be around people, it doesn't matter whether they are talking or not he just likes it when another person is around, he hates being by himself since it brings back not so good memories of his times alone, he is rather active and seems to always have a high amount of energy regardless of the time of day (the only thing that could affect it would be lack of blood), he is quite outgoing and is not afraid to approach someone, sometimes he comes off as too enthusiastic and might talk over someone or not listen to the other person, but once he realizes his mistake he is quick to apologize and gives the person their chance to talk, he absolutely loves when the person he is talking to gets very excited or is talking about something they are passionate about because even though he may not be able to contribute much it still makes his day to see that brightness in someone
-intuitive and imaginative; he always relies on his gut instincts, even when he feels like he might be overreacting since he tends to overthink sometimes he still listens to it, often gets lost in thought and might doze off in the middle of conversations because his mind is so active (feels really bad when this happens and the other person notices it), he can't help it though since he does not have the biggest attention span, one of his favorite pastimes is to daydream while listening to music especially if he is overwhelmed or stressed out about something

-was born in 1887, near the end of the Joseon dynasty; his family were tenant farmers who lived on a plot of land owned by a nobleman; his family consisted of his father, mother, and younger sister; they were rather poor despite the fact that they were constantly working; he began helping his family at the farm at a young age, spending many hours outside; growing up he was known for his extremely curious nature and he would often stray a bit from the farm and pretend he is going on some big adventure; he turned in 1907, a few years before the Korean Empire was annexed by Japan; he had just turned 20 and was trying to figure out a way to get away from the farm life; he wanted to go off to study and see the world but his parents saw no chance in achieving such a feat since they did not have the money for it; he stormed out of the house in anger and took a walk to clear his head even though it was already dark outside; it was not long before he was approached by someone who was struggling to walk properly; at first he thought it was a drunk but then realized it was the son of the nobleman; he tried to help the other man, thinking he was either sick or drunk, and next thing he knew he was being bitten; turns out the son was a vampire and was in desperate need of blood, hence why he appeared sick; jae-hyun grabbed a tree branch near by and hit the vampire over the head, knocking him off; he then ran off as quickly as he could, feeling an extreme burning sensation around the bite; after putting some distance between himself and the vampire he collapsed and passed out; he woke up a few hours later with fangs and feeling extremely thirsty; ever since then he avoided his family in fear he was going to hurt them (this was before he discovered he could survive off animal blood); they thought he was dead but he was really watching them from afar; while Korea was under Japanese rule he continued to stay even though life was becoming more difficult; at one point his family packed up and left to find work in Japan since the nobleman they worked for had lost all of his lands and wealth; jae-hyun tried to follow them to Japan but was unable to; he stayed in Korea until Japan lost control of it at the end of WWII; he went to Japan to try to locate his family only to find out they died a little before the war ended; he fell into despair for the next couple of years, barely taking care of himself; he was nearly on the brink of death when he encountered an older woman who happened to be his younger sister; she had managed to survive and remained in Japan despite wanting to go back to Korea, especially after her parents' death; she recognized her brother and took him in, nursing him back to health and learning he was a vampire; after regaining his strength he decided to take the opportunity to study and travel, keeping in touch with his sister while doing so; he taught himself to live off animal blood and was able to walk among humans with no problem (while wearing a large hoodie and sunglasses during the daytime)
